Definition: a type I transmembrane protein present on leukocytes and endothelial cells and inducible on lymphocytes, dendritic cells, keratinocytes, chondrocytes, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells; acts as a ligand for CD11 and CD18 and aids in intercellular adhesion.
