Definition: a type I transmembrane protein present on thymocytes, T cells, granulocytes, monocytes, natural killer cells, platelets, brain, activated B cells, plasma cells, and hemopoietic stem cells that serves as a ligand for CD54 and facilitates cell-cell adhesion; expressed on some myelomas and lymphomas.
