Definition: a type I transmembrane protein present on mature B cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and epithelial cells involved in signal transduction leading to cell activation, proliferation, adhesion, and/or differentiation; expressed in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemias, lymphomas, and some carcinomas.
