Definition: a type I transmembrane protein found on monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, some B cells, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells that facilitates cell adhesion, phagocytosis, and/or chemotaxis; expressed in some B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemias, most acute nonlymphocytic leukemias, and some hairy cell leukemias.
