catscratch disease


Definition: a benign, subacute illness caused by Bartonella henselae, and characterized by regional lymphadenitis following the scratch (occasionally the bite) of a cat.

Synonym(s): benign inoculation lymphoreticulosis, benign inoculation reticulosis, catscratch fever, regional granulomatous lymphadenitis
