cardiac standstill

 

Definition:

  1. a term denoting cessation of cardiac output due to ventricular fibrillation.
  2. less commonly used to describe c. arrest associated with any malignant dysrhythmia that results in cessation of organized circulation of blood, including asystole (q.v.).
