Burkholderia cepacia

 

Definition: a bacterial species found in rotted onions and in clinical specimens; commonly found in respiratory secretions in patients with cystic fibrosis, it is frequently resistant to many antibiotics.

Synonym(s): Pseudomonas cepacia
