buccopharyngeal membrane

 

Definition: a bilaminar (ectoderm and endoderm) membrane derived from the prechordal plate; after the embryonic head fold has evolved it lies at the caudal limit of the stomodeum.

Synonym(s): oral membrane, oropharyngeal membrane
