Borrel blue stain

Pronunciation: bo-rel'

Definition: a stain for demonstrating spirochetes, treponemes, and Borrelia organisms, using silver oxide (prepared by mixing solutions of silver nitrate and sodium bicarbonate) and methylene blue.
