borderline ovarian tumor

 

Definition: an ovarian surface epithelial tumor in which the growth pattern is intermediate between benign and malignant; includes mucinous, serous, endometrioid, and Brenner tumors of the ovary; highly curable but may recur after surgical removal.

Synonym(s): low malignant potential tumor
