Pronunciation: blef′ar-ĕ-dē′mă

Definition: Edema of the eyelids, often causing a swollen and puffy appearance; causes may be allergic, inflammatory, infectious, circulatory (cicatricial), posttraumatic, postsurgical, or secondary to ocular conditions (keratoconjunctivitis sicca).
