basal laminar drusen


Definition: small, round, translucent lesions measuring 25–75 mcm in diameter, which represent nodular thickening of the basement membrane of the retinal pigment epithelium, often with an overlying focal detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium from Bruch membrane.

Synonym(s): cuticular drusen
