areolar choroidopathy

 

Definition: a slowly progressive pigmentary degeneration with onset in the second and third decades; characterized by black foci closely set together and coalescent at the posterior pole and macular region.

Synonym(s): central areolar choroidal atrophy, central areolar choroidal sclerosis
