anterior trigeminothalamic tract

 

Definition: fibers that originate from the spinal trigeminal nucleus, cross the midline, and ascend on the contralateral side to terminate in the ventral posteromedial nucleus. This tract also contains, in the rostral pons and in the midbrain, fibers that originate in the contralateral principal sensory nucleus and that also terminate in the ventral posteromedial nucleus.
