anesthetic leprosy

 

Definition: a form of leprosy chiefly affecting the nerves, marked by hyperesthesia succeeded by anesthesia, and by paralysis, ulceration, and various trophic disturbances, terminating in gangrene and mutilation.

Synonym(s): Danielssen disease, Danielssen-Boeck disease, dry leprosy, trophoneurotic leprosy
