amyotonia congenita


Definition: an indefinite term for a number of congenital neuromuscular disorders that cause generalized loss of muscle tone, and sometimes weakness, in infants and young children; most such disorders have a benign course.

Synonym(s): congenital atonic pseudoparalysis, myatonia congenita, Oppenheim disease, Oppenheim syndrome
