amylodextrin

Pronunciation: am′i-lō-deks′trin

Definition: End product of hydrolysis of amylopectin by β-amylase; further hydrolysis requires amylo-1,6-glucosidase, which attacks the branch points. Identified by its color reaction with iodine (amylodextrin turns blue).
