Amblyomma variegatum

 

Definition: a tropic bont tick, a serious pest of domestic livestock and an important vector of heartwater (q.v.) in Africa and the Caribbean; it is closely associated with the development of severe clinical dermatophilosis in cattle in the Caribbean.
