Alexander disease

Pronunciation: al-ek-zan'der

Definition: a rare, fatal degenerative disease of the central nervous system of infants, characterized by psychomotor retardation, seizures, and paralysis; megaloencephaly is associated with widespread leukodystrophic changes, especially in the frontal lobes.
