AIDS-associated lipodystrophy/insulin resistance syndrome
Definition: common condition affecting patients with AIDS; onset seen usually after initiation of HAART. Besides disfiguring lipodystrophy, syndrome includes insulin resistance and marked dyslipidemia, along with their attendant atherosclerotic complications.
