Definition: An order of bacteria consisting of moldlike, rod-shaped, clubbed, or filamentous forms with decided tendency to true branching, without endospores, but sometimes developing conidia; it includes the families Mycobacteriaceae, Actinomycetaceae, and Nocardiaceae.
