2-pralidoxime

Pronunciation: pral'i-dok'sem, pra-li'

Definition: One of several oximes that are effective in reversing cholinesterase inhibition by organophosphates. The 2-PAM facilitates the hydrolysis of the phosphorylated enzyme so as to regenerate active cholinesterase.
