Treatments for myasthenia gravis depend on your age, disease severity, and how fast it is progressing and may include neostigmine (Bloxiverz) or pyridostigmine (Mestinon, Regonal); corticosteroids such as prednisone; immunosuppressants such as azathioprine (Azasan, Imuran), mycophenolate mofetil (Cellcept), cyclosporine (Gengraf, NeoralSandimmune), methotrexate (Trexall, Xatmep) or tacrolimus (Astagraf XL, Prograf); plasmapheresis; IV or SQ immunoglobulin (IVIG or SCIG) infusions; efgartigimod alfa (Vyvgart) or efgartigimod alfa-hyaluronidase (Vyvgart Hytrulo); monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab (Rituxan), eculizumab (Soliris), ravulizumab (Ultomiris); other medications such as rozanolixizumab-noli (Rystiggo) or zilucoplan (Zilbrysq); or surgery to remove the thymus gland.
