For Overactive Bladder "This has caused urinary retention requiring hospitalization and a Foley catheter. Samples were given to 94.5-year-old women dealing with frequent urination issues at night. No warning by the urologist that this could occur, and no warning on/in the packaging. I would never have agreed to let my mother take this had we been warned about this side effect. Gemtesa was supposed to make her life better and has done the complete opposite. She has been weakened significantly as a result of Gemtesa and hospitalization. Stay away from this drug. Numerous trips to void are far better than requiring a catheter. The worst is that there was no warning this horrible, crippling event could happen."

For Overactive Bladder "2 months on Gemtesa, I was having painful urination, extremely dry skin and eyes. All my fingertips got knife-like cuts on them and hurt so bad I had to buy special cream for them and wear gloves at night. My eyes became so dry that when I tried to blink, my eyelids stuck to my eyeballs. I got styes on all 4 eyelids. Right eye is really painful. Medicated eye drops and ointment are not resolving the styes. I quit taking Gemtesa 2 months after I started taking it when the dry eyes became unbearable and styes started appearing, plus the painful urination was scaring me. I did not want to have to deal with UTIs also! Too costly, and I was not informed of a discount program and paid for a 90-day supply before I realized how intolerable the side effects were! The least they can do is reimburse me for the 90-day supply. I had to pay 2 doctors and buy 2 kinds of drops and 1 ointment, and now I have to see another eye doctor about the styes that aren't going away, the inability to see and burning eyes."

For Overactive Bladder "This is not good. The frequent urination got worse, not better, and now I have painful urination. I am in worse shape now than before I started taking it. Stopped after 1 month, but now I have frequency and pain that has not gone away."

For Overactive Bladder "Caused significant urinary retention, and now the doctor wants me to self-cath, which I am not going to do. Done with this medication."
