For Back Pain "Hey I’m Ben, a college student. I have severe scoliosis in back and need surgery kinda soon :( My doctor prescribed me Tramadol recently due to chronic back pain. I currently take 50 mg three times a day for moderate the pain. Sometimes more. My pain still exists slightly, but my depression is KILLED by the Tramadol :) I feel energetic & motivated compared to before. I don’t seem to mind the back pain even though it’s still noticeable. Tramadol is the ultimate pain relief combo for me. However, I experienced withdrawal symptoms which included vomiting, restless leg syndrome, tiredness, chills, & profuse sweating. Felt like a fever! Tramadol is great when you’re on it, but really hard when you stop. Only other side effect I hated was SEVERE constipation. No joke, worst of my life. In conclusion, Tramadol helped me a lot for my chronic pain, but surprisingly useful for elevating my mood. Would have highly recommended Tramadol if getting off this drug was easier!"

For Chronic Pain "I have CIDP [chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy] in my hands with the myelin sheath around the nerves in my finger tips destroyed (nerves are exposed). I also have sensory Neuronopathy with chronic pain in the front of my thighs and lower legs. So yes I'm in a lot of pain. I take Tramadol ER 200mg in the morning and Tramadol 50mg approximately 8 hours later, depending on how much I use my hands and fingers the first 8 hours of my waking hours. Tramadol in both doses works to allowed me to do much more with my hands and fingers while clearly improving my way of life. Neither dose takes the pain away completely but certainly helps makes life bearable. Only side affect I have is constipation which I resolve with a stool softener."

For Chronic Pain "Tramadol is ineffective for my chronic pain. I've been given six times more Tramadol to replace morphine. Tramadol is a poor substitute for chronic pain relief and copays are more than three times more expensive."

For Chronic Pain "I was taking 50 mg. of Tramadol 3/day for a total of 150 mg daily with no problem for over 10 years. My new doctor became nervous about prescribing a 3-month supply (270 pills), and switched me over to the 200 mg. Extended-Release formula. I tried it for 2 weeks, and it doesn't work, so I started supplementing it with either Advil or Tylenol. This is definitely not good. I'm now taking a higher dose of Tramadol but have to take additional drugs."

For Chronic Pain "I take 300mg tramadol ER daily, with low dose norco 500mg/750mg as needed usually twice daily. I have fibromyalgia and other undiagnosed conditions, extreme pain untreated but I can live with these drugs, otherwise its torture. I am so drugged out like a zombie but anything to ease the pain. Life is short enjoy what you can now."

For Pain "In 2002 I had a major operation that left me with a huge long scar. As the scar was healing I began getting pain from my right side of the scar, seems like the scar was not healing right. Each week for many months I was going to the doctors to follow up on my operation, I kept telling the doctors I have pain coming from my scar, so the doctors kept saying each week to take Tylenol. Finally the pain was too great and I really let them know I've been suffering for a long time with this bad pain and Tylenol has not done anything. They gave me Tramadol, when I took the first pill it did nothing, the second pill knocked out the pain completely, and it never came back, I felt immediate relief, finally. I disagree where I read to take this medication every day, not as needed, everyone's pain is different. Doctors are put in a situation, told to not prescribe opiates, doctors are being pushed around by superiors, they loose more and more of their freedom to be a doctor."

For Pain "I have basilar migraines for 20 years and I try all other drugs with different MD and finally the neurologist from UCSD put me on Ultram which worked for the basilar migraines and the average of pain is at the very, very lowest now"

For Back Pain "The first 3 days I took Tramadol Hcl tablets, 1/2 tablet in the morning, and the other half at night, as per my doctor's orders. They were 50mg. tablets. Had a slight adverse reaction the second time they were prescribed for me, so had to go slow. Most of the pain disappeared for those 3 days. On the fourth day, I took my usual dose-1/2 of a 50mg. tablet with a full glass of water, as usual. Within a few hours, I began to experience some of the side effects listed: nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headaches, itchiness, upset stomach, and lightheadedness. I also had a few extra side effects: constant belching, acid reflux, and shortness of breath. These events lasted for several hours."

For Chronic Pain "I just started a 30 day regimen of 3 a day 50mg and so far I’m not feeling the pain relief! I have severe pain in my neck to my shoulder! Disc 2-7 in my neck are messed up! Doctor asked if I wanted to try 100mg extended relief 2x’s a day I think I should have switched to something else! What do you all think"

For Chronic Pain "I have been taking Tramadol ER 100 milligrams 3 times a day for over 6 years I have found out that in the beginning it helped but now as my pain has increased and my disease become more severe it doesn't help at all I have never experienced any side effects other than constipation when I add it with the rest of my meds such as Vicodin to help with the pain. I do realize that when I am taking the Vicodin it does give me the itches other than that I can't say I've experienced any other side effects."

For Back Pain "I was prescribed Tramadol 50mg but found it not very effective and only for short duration. Doctor switched me to 100mg ER which is supposed to be effective for up to 24 hours but it starts to wears off after about 4 hours and seems ineffective after 8 hours. I supplement it with Tylenol Arthritis Strength ER as the doctor suggested. I can't use NSAIDS as I'm taking Eliquis or I'd use Advil which provided better pain relief than Tylenol."

For Back Pain "works well for low grade back pain. For sciatica you need something stronger PLUS an anti inflammatory like Motrin or Celebrex."

For Pain "I was taking 50mg tramadol and thought 100 ER might be better. That was a mistake. Like taking nothing at all. Useless."

For Chronic Pain "Severe headache during dosage - one tablet. Taken at night 10pm. Woken with feeling of anxiousness 2/3am. And hallucinating during this time."
