For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I wanted to share my experience because I’m kind of shocked by the other reviews for Monistat 1. I worry that they could either unnecessarily scare someone who has already used it or keep someone from using it who could benefit from it and doesn’t otherwise have easy access to healthcare (like prescriptions). Yeast infections are uncomfortable, period. And the drug used in Monistat is powerful. That being said, it worked for me. I had a minor yeast infection and used Monistat 1. I continued to work out and go about my daily activities as usual. I was definitely a little uncomfortable, but certainly not even close to the point of needing to go to urgent care. After all, I recognize that this is a really strong antifungal treatment. For those who are more sensitive to pain and discomfort, I would highly recommend a 3 or 7-day treatment. Three days later, my symptoms are much better. While not 100%, I no longer have any burning or major itching."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I will never touch this stuff again. The burning and itching side effects are worse than the infection itself, it is absolutely unbearable. The cooling wipes are the best part-to wipe off this horrible medication."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My mom told me to try this to help my infection. I had no problem putting it in, it was just like a tampon. Everything was fine for the first hour, maybe 2 hours, but suddenly it has become so uncomfortably painful and itchy. I don't know how to make it stop!! :( I hope it ends up being worth this. (Honestly, the yeast infection wasn't this bad)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is horrible! I'm in so much pain! I put this egg in at about 9:30 pm, and it's now exactly 2:44 AM, and I cannot go to sleep! I feel the burning sensation, but it's itching like hell! I don't know what to do! Help!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Holy mother. Dying right now. I had moderate swelling and itching from the YI, placed this in at nighttime. The next time I had a bowel movement, the evil egg started to ooze out. My vagina has swollen AT LEAST twice its size. I feel like I'm being chemically burned. Goopy, which is fine - who cares... but the BURN AND THE SWELLING. I feel like this is worse than my YI. I just finished rocking back and forth naked, on all fours, on my bathroom floor. Prepare yourselves, ladies."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Worst idea I ever had! I bought this to treat my yeast infection instead of seeing the doc. It didn't only not work, it made everything hurt and burn 100x worse! I inserted the medication before going to bed and woke up about an hour after with the worst burning sensation I have ever experienced. It was a mix of intense itching and burning so strong I had a hard time breathing through it. The pill had dissolved and had started leaking out. I used the washroom and it was more pain on top of the pain I was already experiencing. It has been two days and the burning sensation is still there, and it hurts so bad to pee. Everything feels chapped down there and will have to visit the doc anyway. Do yourself a favor and just go to the doctor!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve read the reviews, and I have used this product before. Now, to clarify, I am a pretty impatient person, so I decided to use the Monistat 1. I’ve had the burning and itchiness, but I also realize that this, compared to the three or seven, is more concentrated. It sucks that it will cause that burning, but after clearing away the initial discharge, there was only a burning, and the itching was at a minimum. Just be aware that this is more concentrated, so there will be a stronger reaction. If you can handle the strength, you’ll be fine, if not, I would use the 7-day or go talk to your gynecologist."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a UTI, then antibiotics made it itch and twitch and overall uncomfortable. Once I realized I had a YI due to antibiotics, I tried Monistat 1 for quick results. Absolutely no concerns. I got the pack with the cream and wipes. Love the cream for the outside to minimize the YI itching. Ovule is messier than I realized. Within 24 hours of using, I feel 100% better. Would use again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Every woman is different, so for some it may burn and itch, and for others, it may take well. So you can't say it's bad to use because every woman's body is different. :) I used it, and it worked wonderfully on me. Just keep in mind, ladies, our bodies are ALL different :)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Plan B last week, and Plan B is known for throwing your pH balance off, so I caught a yeast infection. My vagina felt very raw, and I kept a cold towel down there to numb the pain. I took Monistat 1 because that's what the CVS pharmacist prescribed. This YI was so unbearable, and what made it worse is I'm on my period. I inserted the egg and put the cream everywhere. I barely want to walk, talk, eat, or do anything. My vagina is so sad right now, it burns, it itches. I just need relief from this uncomfortable pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I just used this 1-day ovule for the first time, and it worked great! I did not get any burning or itching sensation at all. I put it in before I went to bed and feel a lot better in the morning. I would recommend seeing your doctor if it's the first time you have had a yeast infection, but otherwise, this is a good product to use."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I developed a yeast infection after being on antibiotics for a week because of strep throat. I used the Walgreens generic. I did not experience the unbearable burning/itching like some people mention. There was a slight increase in itch at first, but it wasn’t anything crazy. I will admit that I didn’t sleep very well because it was a little uncomfortable, and I felt like the medication would leak out if I moved. I didn’t feel better immediately when I woke up (8 hours after insertion), but I noticed that I felt a lot better about 12 hours after insertion. Overall, this product worked at clearing my yeast infection and had very minimal side effects/discomfort. It probably does make things slightly worse because the medication is so strong, but I felt a lot better after 12 hours. My yeast infection was also fairly mild, so maybe the burning sensation occurs when the medication is applied to a severe case with more irritation or lacerations."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Please read reviews before use. I did not. I used it about an hour ago, and now I’m having the most severe itching/burning I’ve ever felt. I’m currently jumping around trying to get it to leak out, and then I’m going to shower. Yes, I’m in tears writing this. NOT WORTH IT. I had a mild yeast infection, and now I’m in severe pain. DO NOT BUY."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I just put the egg in about an hour ago. I've used this a few times before, and it worked like a charm. This time, within a few minutes of inserting the egg, the worst and most uncomfortable pain I've ever experienced. I literally cried for almost an hour. I didn't want to remove the egg in hopes that I could tolerate the pain and itch and that I would be all better soon. I read that plain yogurt (cold) relieves the itching and burning and helps rid of the YI bacteria. Desperately and thankfully, I had some plain yogurt in the fridge. I applied it all over my vagina as well as inside my vagina while the egg still remained. It took away the itch, burn, and pain almost completely. Sounds weird, but try it! Hopefully, I can help someone else out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Y'all. Okay. So I tried this about a year and a half ago, and it was awful. But I forgot about that and bought it again today and didn't remember my last experience until my best friend said something after I had already inserted this little egg from the pits of hell. I was fine for the first 3 hours, so I thought I was in the clear. Took a shower. Dried off. Then felt a little itchy, so I decided to apply the external cream before going to bed. Apparently, this cream is the detonator. Cue the most severe burning, itching, and tingling of my life. Scooped out what I could with a cold towel. Also, do NOT get any on your back end hole because that will burn too. Currently cooling off in front of my fan. Never again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 17, and this is my second yeast infection. The first time I used Monistat 3, and I didn't have any itching or burning that I do now while using Monistat 1. This pain is excruciating. I took it around 7 pm, I didn't feel anything until 8:30 pm. I knew I had the infection only a day ago, so I bought this one for faster relief, not knowing it was going to cause more itching and burning than the actual infection. I could not stop complaining to my mom, so I sat with my legs wide open in front of the fan to cool it down. I hope this is just the medicine working."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "NO & HELL NO!!!! After not even 2 hours, my poor vagina and vulvar area was burning, itching worse than the YI did, and all was inflamed. Came on here THEN read the reviews. I jumped in the shower and washed everything off of me/in me as best as I could. I am now lying in bed, in November, with the ceiling fan on (no ice pack), cooling my poor affected areas down. Don't use the strongest formula. As for me, I'll go back to other methods... even the nausea I get with Dipluran is better than this!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had yeast infections before but have always caught them early enough to take care of with home remedies. I wasn't as fortunate this time around... My YI symptoms became too unbearable today (to the point I almost left work 'sick' to go home and wallow in my misery), so I picked up the Monistat 1 Maximum Strength ovule. Not sure if their idea of maximum strength means singe a woman's vagina with fire until there are no nerve endings left in there to itch, but OMG!!! I inserted the ovule around 9:30 pm, and about 30 minutes later, it began to itch and burn a million times worse than any YI I've ever experienced. I had to take an Epsom salt bath and get as much of it out as I could. HORRIBLE, NEVER AGAIN."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This 1-day Monistat... I will never try again. I wasn't even burning at first, just an itch from taking an antibiotic. This egg I inserted made my pocketbook burn. I don't recommend this product if you can't stand a constant burn to your private area."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the 1-day yesterday and inserted it at 11:30 a.m. with a panty liner. No burning, just the annoying leakage, which is why I used the liner. It relieved the discomfort of the yeast infection right away. I've never used this medication before, but would use it again. Today, the burning and itching are gone, and everything is clearing up."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Fire in the hole! In my opinion, to use this product, you have to be a sadist or a psycho. I'm on a strong course of antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection, and as a present, I got a yeast infection as a result. I decided to use the 1-day treatment to just get it over with, and it may be the worst decision of my life. Within moments after I administered the treatment, I began with an intense burning and itching sensation that was worse than the infection's symptoms. I just hit a home run with my shower head to try and alleviate the discomfort and rid myself of the devil cream. I would not recommend nor ever use it again. User beware!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I felt the YI coming on and decided to try Monistat oval on Sunday night. Woke up Monday morning on fire. It was so bad I felt like my vagina had been sentenced to hell. I left work early and went to see my PCP, she ordered Diflucan. By midday, my vagina had swollen so bad I was walking gap-legged and couldn't wear any panties. So, I decided to ice it and take Motrin to help with the inflammation. It helped a lot, but here it is day 2 and I'm still slightly swollen, itching, twitching inside, and extremely sensitive. I would never ever ever use another Monistat product. It literally feels like someone poured gas on my vagina and struck a match. Ladies, avoid this product like the plague."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am 66 and have had yeast infections in my day, but never was the cure so monumentally more painful than the condition. I put in the ampule, expecting sweet relief, and within 2 hours I was a raving lunatic with burning and itching beyond belief in my lady parts. I decided my best option was to GET. IT. OUT., and sent poor Grandpa to the pharmacy to get a douche bag. Picture that, people. Sweet relief and never again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I purchased the Monistat 1 ovule Monday night and inserted it around 9 something. As I was laying down, I started to read the reviews on here and got scared for my life because I was scared that I would endure that burning and itching. I actually didn't have any problems with that... but the second time I put the external cream on, I damn near died. It burned so bad that I hurried up and ran to the bathroom to take a shower. I think I used it too close in time... but it's now the next day and I feel wonderful. No more itching or burning, just discharge still from the medicine coming out."
