"Had a one-night stand (not proud) and took a full STD test to rule everything else out when I was diagnosed with BV. The symptoms were agonizing. Thank God for this med. I took both doses (2gx2) on a full stomach and had no side effects, but BV odor and discharge were eliminated. Now a week later, still free and clear. I also put in boric acid suppositories for the 3 days post-medication and began OTC vaginal probiotics (Nature's Way brand). I am so happy! You take normal vaginal health for granted until you have BV!"

"Ladies, I recommend trying this if metronidazole and clindamycin don't work for you. I had a milky white, mostly odorless discharge for ages, it looked and had the same consistency as plain yogurt. Sometimes the doc diagnosed me with BV, but other times I was told it was just regular discharge. I knew, though, that there was far too much, and this didn't start until about 6 months after I got a vaginal IUD for the first time. Even after I got the IUD removed, though, the discharge continued, and I was prescribed everything from Solosec to clindamycin to metronidazole, all oral and then vaginal gels and suppositories as well. NOTHING even made it go away once, it was persistent. Then, recently, I got a fishy odor accompanying the consistent discharge, and I thought for sure this is BV. Did some research online and thought I'd ask my doc for tinidazole this time around. I also got metronidazole and took that for 7 days first, then took the tinidazole and a Flagyl. It worked!"

"I was prescribed to take four 500 mg of tinidazole for 2 days to treat BV. The only side effects I experienced were minor headaches, fatigue, and dryness in my mouth. I was constantly drinking water because my mouth kept getting dry. Other than that, I’ve been fine. The drug worked, and I’m happy. All drugs come with side effects. Just deal with it."

"My doctor gave me this since Metro wasn't working for a month. It did get rid of my BV, but I woke up sweating with a very fast heartbeat. My doctor said it wasn't a side effect, but I think it might be with some people. Freaked me out. My BV came back 3 weeks later though."

"I had my appointment on Monday at 4 p.m. Was diagnosed with BV and was prescribed 500 mg pills to take twice a day for 5 days. I took one that evening. On Tuesday evening (after 2 pills) I had a headache and metallic taste. I took the 3rd pill that night. This morning I woke up with heartburn and still a headache. Now I'm on pill 4 and my vagina is itchy and I'm sleepy. I'm going to take a Zyrtec."

"I just wanted to add once reading these reviews that while this treats BV, Tinidazole is also an anti-parasitic, so some of the negative side effects and emotional ones I read people were having are directly related to and are due to die-off symptoms of parasites. I just did a 2-month parasite, heavy metal, and candida cleanse and learned about parasites in excess. Very beneficial to detox yearly."

"I have been suffering from either BV or trich for years. I have been tested for both several times but nothing comes up. Green discharge and sometimes fishy smell. I tried metronidazole a few times but always stopped a day or two in due to the side effects. I took 2 500mg pills yesterday at 2 pm after a big meal, and then 2 pills at 6 pm after another meal. I didn’t notice any side effects except I couldn’t sleep, but maybe I was anxious about side effects. This morning I have a metallic taste in my mouth, but that is nothing compared to the way I felt when taking metronidazole."

Tinidazole "Well, I can say the taste, the headaches, the cramps, the fast heartbeat, which caused my severe anxiety to go bananas, is due to this med. Day 5 now, I feel like it's back. Ugh!!!! "I used to take 2 pills as a single dosage. It made me nauseous, and it made anything I ate or drank taste horrible. I was taking this pill for bacterial vaginitis, and 2 days later I had a yeast infection! Worse and even frightening that the mild itch I was having, accompanied with stomach ache and cramps."

"I just finished my 2nd/final day of taking tinidazole. Both times, I took all 4 pills with a big meal to try and avoid side effects. The only thing I experienced was a sour taste in my mouth when taking the pills and a really bad headache. I was worried about any gastrointestinal side effects and that didn’t happen! It also seemed to help my BV after day 1. I did not drink any alcohol during my days taking it because I'm scared of the risks lol. I’d definitely recommend this because it’s such a short amount of time of taking it and it works pretty much immediately! Don’t be scared of what you read online because realistically it probably won’t happen to you."

"For me, tinidazole is really bad. Other than the stated symptoms, my lips totally become so infected, like I had an allergy. They are swollen and feel injured. So gross and painful. Can't even take more than one tablet. But very effective."

"I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and my doctor did a Pap smear on me, saying that I had a bacterial infection, so she prescribed me tinidazole, and she told me to take 4 pills the first day and take 4 pills the next day. So I did, and I was feeling something was wrong, my baby wasn't moving that much. Then the next day, I started throwing up a lot. I was wondering how I can stop throwing up."

"I haven’t actually taken this yet, they prescribed it when I tested positive for trich, and I have been too afraid to take it. I tried clearing it with organic cranberry, which worked for a while, but symptoms came back months later. Here I am today and just got rechecked and prescribed this again, and I’m just deathly afraid because I’m only 100 pounds and I’ve never taken thousands of milligrams of anything before!"

"I was prescribed tinidazole 4 pills/2 a day for a recurring BV. First day I had bad headaches, 2nd day same thing. It has cleared and no problems since. But the headaches are HORRIBLE!"
