"This is horrible. My allergies have been bad lately. I went to the pharmacy to get eye drops. I normally get Similasan, which works great. They didn’t have that, so I decided to give this a try. I was torn between this and another cosine product, but unfortunately decided on this one. Oh my goodness, the burning was terrible. I even gave it a few tries. I thought maybe my eyes needed to get used to it. Day 3 and no improvement. Burning just as bad as the first time. Ordered Similasan on day 1 from Amazon, but still won’t be here for a few more days. I’m going to another pharmacy later just to see if they have it because I can’t use this another day."

"Having trouble with dry, itchy eyes from allergies. Figured Visine brand would be best. Well, it burned and made my eyes itch even more. I used it for about 4 days and couldn't use it anymore. My eyes actually felt worse after using this product."

"Caused my eyes to instantly burn. I attempted several times to use these, and the same thing happened over and over. They turned very red and burned badly. I finally had to use saline to wash out my eyes."

"I used Visine -A for my itchy allergy symptoms. I put one drop in each eye and experienced burning, intense pain in both eyes. It hurt so bad that I could not open my eyes for 5 or 6 seconds. I never used eye drops that caused me to have a reaction. I will never use this product again."

"I have mild allergies to our family cat. I had my boyfriend pick me up some eye drops to help with the itchy, red, and burning eyes. I had never used Totality before but have used other Visine products and loved them. This one burned and felt like my eyes were on fire for about 5 to 10 minutes. After a few hours, my eyes do feel better, but it shouldn't be at the cost of setting my eyes on fire!"

"I bought these for dry eyes, and I also have many eye floaters. This product has helped me so much and makes my floaters almost go away after I use it for a while. My vision does get blurry a few minutes after use, but then goes away! Great product, I will buy again, and the burning isn't that bad."

"It says: 'Visine: Multi-Symptom Relief - 8 Symptoms.' I barely use eye drops. My vision is perfect. Lucky me! I had heat rash and was using calamine lotion. I shook the bottle with the top unscrewed. Pink everywhere! Some landed in my right eye. I went to the sink and ran it under water for 15 minutes. Ah! Days later, it was still aching and blood red. Once I looked in the mirror. I went to the drugstore and bought 'eye drops.' I did use 3-4 drops in the eye very often. After 3 days, it was just bloodshot. After a week, it didn't hurt so badly. I stopped using the drops without finishing the bottle! It worked to calm my eye after calamine lotion attacked me. Ouch! It was a relief, felt good to moisten my peeper (eye)."

"Two thumbs down. At first, it was going well, and then the burning started. Like I got hit in the eye with pocket sand or something. Tossing this bottle and going to try a different brand. I'd give it a zero, but it wouldn't let me."

"I bought these drops this morning, thinking it would help. Instead, it made my eyes worse. My eyes burn so bad I could not open my eyes for five minutes. Even then, the light hurt my eyes and my eyes were blurry. It has now been 10 hours, and my eyes still hurt."

"I had terribly itchy eyes after gardening all afternoon. Without thinking much of it, I used these Visine drops, and my eyes stung terribly for a moment or two. When the stinging ended, my eyes felt better than they had for days. The wonderful results were well worth a few moments of discomfort!"

"I thought I should mention. I spilled calamine in my eye years ago. I found this old bottle. Expires Sept. 2024. It's old... Zinc sulfate 0.25 w/v, tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride 0.05% w/v. It bothers my eye for a second. Maybe it's a different formulation. It's the right ingredients. Why do so many say it burns? Not for me. And this bottle must be from at least 2022, considering the expiration date."

"My first time using the eye drops was for redness. It burned, but after a few minutes, it subsided. But then it felt like there was something underneath the inside of my eyelid, and it was scratching my eyeball terribly. It was bothering me so badly I had to go lie down. That went on for 2-3 days. I didn’t realize at the time it was caused by the Visine. The second time, it did me so bad as I am experiencing this at the present time. It badly burned my eyeball. I used the drops thinking that I had a hair stuck under my eyelid. I kept feeling scraping on my eyeball. Then it turned really red, swollen, and a white, cloudy film kept forming over my eyeball. Every time I removed it, more would come. I woke up the next day, and my eye was stuck shut from drainage. My eye is so huge from swelling. Learning now that this stuff chemically burned my eyeball. Going to see a doctor today. How is this still on the market? Someone's eyes could be severely damaged from using this product."

"My dog and cat sleep on my bed, and sometimes I awaken with itchy, watery eyes due to pet dander allergies. 1 drop of Visine A.C. in each eye makes them burn and sting so badly that it’s like using boiling water. I plan to try another brand."

"I'm back one more time to say, I think it's good. My eyes have been dry. I'm not sure why. So I used this old stuff. It still works great. Close to the expiration date! It doesn't burn at all? Maybe a little, like saline (salt). That's gone in a second, and then my eyes have no problems, re-rebound dry. I like it, it works. So here's one more good rating because it's great for me. The only thing would be the price. I'm sure generic would work as nice."

"So I got this Visine Totality because I have dry eyes, and I also lately have been having very bad puffy eyelids lately, and someone told me that I might have allergies that are affecting my eyes and should try allergy eye drops. So I got new eye drops, and I chose the multi-action allergy eye relief, and wow, they worked. Only been trying them for three days, and my big puffy eyes are pretty much gone. There is a burning sensation, but it only lasts a minute, and then it's gone. And it doesn't burn in the morning when I first wake up. Only when I put them in at the end of the day. I'm assuming it's because the allergens or debris are in my eye, which causes the drops to burn (to work). But they don't burn so much in the morning, only at the end of the day. So I'm pretty happy with the results of this product."

"Okay, let me start by saying I’m seriously contemplating a lawsuit on this product. I made a quick decision to stop last Thursday for my dry eyes, and I chose this... first horrible mistake. I only did one eye since it burnt so bad... my eyes still haven’t stopped watering, and it has been over a week. I had a red chemical burn around the eye I used the drops in up until yesterday. I will be making a stop to the ER tomorrow and then probably the lawyer's office... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!"

"I woke up with a swollen and itchy eye. No redness, and it's not pink eye. I asked hubby to go by Visine 7 symptom, and oh nelly, did I make the biggest mistake of my life! When he put it in my eyes, it BURNED! I really mean BURNED my eye inside and out! Within a few seconds came the serious itching! When I tell you itching, I mean I wanted to tear my eye out! I scratched with napkins and the tip of my index finger for about 10 minutes! I couldn't help it! I HAD to scratch! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! I wish I would have read these comments before I put this stuff in my eyes! DON'T BUY THIS!"

"I bought the new Visine Total Comfort all-in-one drops hoping for better relief for my dry eyes. To my dismay and extreme pain, the drops burned my eyes like fire upon contact. It’s been 4 days since, and I’ve been using just regular TheraTears I used before to help with even further dryness and pain, which it helps. Even my eyelids had an adverse reaction to the new Visine and are painfully red, tender, and itchy. I’ve even considered going to the eye doctor, it hurt so bad, but I have no vision insurance. I tried the new Visine based upon their name brand, past products, and experience in their field, but I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone to try."

"I bought this new Visine product on Dec 17, 2021, and upon first use, it burned my eye badly. I didn’t put it in my other eye and immediately washed my eye out, the pain was intense. I went online to Visine (Johnson & Johnson) and wrote them to complain (I’ve never done so before in my life) and see if they would look into it. I did get a response back asking questions and if I had gone to an eye doctor, however, I have no insurance that covers vision, and I’m a retired widow and need to use money wisely (Medicare does not cover vision). They said they deemed it not serious then and would close out my complaint. I was surprised by that by a company of their size and so many people like me having used their products over the years as being a trusted name brand. I guess company and money wins every time over the consumer and a complaint. It’s been 2 months now, and my eye is still painful, it burns as well as inside my eyelid and on top and it’s itchy. I’ve made an appointment with my PCP."

"After applying the eye drops, I experienced burning and itching in my eyes that lasts for about five minutes and then subsides. I don't know if this is something that should keep me from using it or not. I use it in the morning about 30 minutes before putting in my contacts, only when I need it though."
