For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Hideous fungus under all 10 toenails since age 12, I'm 52 now. My life is changed, since in adolescence and even until today, I have hidden my toes and suffered ridicule and embarrassing questions. Been taking the drug for 4 mths as I write this. It's a miracle. Big toenails have cleared beautifully to 50% and all other 8 nails are at 90% or better. Taste impacted minimally(temporary). Liver function normal. Just do it."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Best advice:1.Get prescription pills & continue until side effects are unbearable,that product will clear it up best & fastest,Then switch to prescription polish. 2.Go buy electric nail file w attachments, keep thinnest & short as possible. 3.Change socks morning/night. 4.Don't share nail tools! 5. Sally's has professional liquid cleaner, blue stuff lasts year! 6.Clean infected toes PM before changing socks. 7.i switched from pills to medicated polish because of headaches & after 7 months my toe nail is clear & growing at a similar rate to others. I've read & tried all the tricks. If u follow these instructions DAILY it WILL clear up but your looking at a year. Add Epsom Salt 2 minute soak, 2-3x wk, plug bath sink,put foot in."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I was on this for 6 months at which point I had to stop taking it as the side effects were taking a serious toll on my health. My liver went from 100% function to 40% and needless to say I felt like a pile of overcooked spaghetti for months while taking it and for about 3 months afterward. My toenail fungus started to clear up after 6 months, but unfortunately after discontinuing use, it came back in full force. I am now looking for a better alternative."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Just about finished my 3 months on this medication. I have had toe nail fungus for 23+ years and was in the process thinking about getting my toe nails removed. My Doctor suggested trying this out first which I have. Through the whole process of lamisil I have had a little bit of an upset stomach, nothing serious though. As for its effectiveness on my fungus. I feel like the fungus had stopped "growing" my poor wife used to have to file my nails down as the fungus would grow and be quite painful. She said she's noticed a little good growth at the bed of my toenail. All in all I am very happy I went this route over removal. We will see the true results in about a years time."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Got athlete's foot in a college shower back in 1992. It spread to my toenails shortly after, and I tried everything to get rid of it or hide it. It only affected my left foot, but my big toe was horrible. It was three times thicker than normal and really nasty. My best way of covering it up was duct tape claiming I banged it on something. I have taken Lamisil for a little over 30 days and the nails are all clearing up and the big toe looks amazing. I have dealt with this issue for over 20 years and am thrilled that it will no longer be an embarrassment. I would have given it a '10', but a bout of insomnia mixed with some really strange dreams took a point away."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Update. Its been 1 year 6 months when I first tried the generic brand of Lamisil" ( you can read my story in past comments) I was on the medication for 3 months. I can say my 9 toes are clear , one big toe 98% clear . Just do it!!. Can wear sandals now, walk the beach barefoot with my girlfriend, no more embarrassment."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "For years I missed out on so much, I was always ashamed to wear sandals or any type of shoes that showed my toes. As a girl I found my self looking at everyone else's cute shoes wishing I could wear them. It took about 8 months then my toenails were perfect! It truly was a miracle drug! I would recommend it to anyone who has any kind of toenail fungus. I now wear any kind of shoe I want and don't even think about that nasty problem. My only regret was not doing it any sooner."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Took it religiously for a year. Had toenail fungus on all ten toes for probably the last 10 years. It took awhile for the nail to grow out, but I kept them clean and dry and scrubbed daily in the shower. My feet have not looked this good in 10 years. It's a slow recovery but it works"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "The podiatrist prescribed Lamisil for my (big) toenail fungus. I asked about side effects & her comment was, “I’ve not seen anything serious.” Well, 5 weeks in and I woke up to exploding diarrhea. This diarrhea continued for 3 weeks - day and night. At first I did not associate the diarrhea with the Lamisil. After discontinuing the med, it took another 2-1/2 weeks to get out of my system and for the diarrhea to stop. I experienced some sleep disruptions, but assumed it was because of my fear of soiling myself & the bed again. My sleep is finally improving, as well. The worst part is that I see no difference in my toenail. I have had blood work done and there are no indications of liver issues. I would definitely go another route than Lamisil."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I'm 2 weeks from completing my 3 month treatment and have had absolutely no problems or side effects. I was very skeptical about Lamisil before starting because of all the negative reviews that saturate the internet. My nails are improving and even though the bad nails are far from grown out I can tell a visible difference in nail color, texture and the health of my nail bed. I tease and say that it's a miracle drug, since starting Lamisil I've lost 13 pounds and I swear the medication has even helped with my allergies. I am a long time allergy sufferer and I have not had even the slightest onset of a drippy nose or watery eye this spring. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with this product."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I took Lamisil for 4 weeks. I am a Registered Nurse and I didn't realize that the medication could affect my taste. This is definitely the worst side effect that I have ever experienced with any medication. The change in taste almost happened overnight. All of a sudden everything tasted like motor oil. I have been off the medication for 7 days and I am unable to eat. I pray that I regain my sense of taste. "

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Started Lamisil in October. I felt fine until about the third week and got very bloated and gassy. Doctor told me to do “pulse dosing” which was to take for a week then stop for three weeks. After a week off the medication I felt better. I started back and will take it as long as I can. Apparently, the efficacy is almost the same with the intermittent dosing. Just figure that the more I can keep taking it, the better and don’t feel the need to stop for three weeks. Will update."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I am 18 and I’ve had to nail fungus since I was about 11. It started off on my left pinky toe but years later , probably because I was in cross country/track, it spread to 4 other toes. I really tried everything from home remedies to over the counter medicine. Finally, I spoke to my doctor and was prescribed to take lamisil I’ll orally for 3 months. I was terrified because of all the negative reviews but I desperately wanted this disgusting fungus to go away. It was the last two months that I admit made it difficult to continue. I basically had diarrhea every morning which was horrible. But other than that that was the only side effect I experienced. It’s been about 3 months since I finished my 3 months prescription. And it truly feels like a miracle. The pinky toe on my left foot Still has a little more clearing up to do but really other than that my toes look so healthy. I’m sure in a few months more all my toe nails will be completely clear. Was worth it."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I have taken Lamisil for 7 weeks. I have had loss of taste and am a little more tired. The loss of taste concerns me. I have read some people got it back and some have been off it for months and have not. Even water tastes bad. Nails look better so I am going to stick it out and pray. It's kind of nice not wanting to eat sweets.....but I miss a glass of wine tasting good.....hopefully it will resolve."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I took this medicine for 3 weeks and have lost all sense of taste. It has been 2 weeks and I have lost 12 lbs. They say that this is a rare side effect yet I have found many web sites that have many complaints of the same effect? Not worth my time or money. I am depressed, sick, weak all the time and mad as hell I ever took it and my toenails still look bad."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Just finished my 1st month of Lamisil and have had some side effects but I'm going to try and continue to take it. I'm so ready to be able to wear any shoes I like. I've dealt with this fungus long enough and really want this gone. I already can see a big difference."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "After having taken this drug for 2 months, I got an awful, foul taste in my mouth and could not have anything touch my tongue without gagging and a feeling of something in my throat after visiting 5 doctors who just looked at me like I was crazy and never heard of anything like that one said it was the medication. I stopped taking it on Nov 2 this is Dec 1 and I still cannot eat or drink anything other than water. I have lost about 25 pounds. It is making me weak and tired and have no quality of life at this point. I no longer care about the toenail fungus I have been so sick with the taste, smell problem that the toenail problem is the very least of my worries. Missed Thanksgiving and hoping I won't miss Christmas. Don't take it!!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I had toe nail fungus on one nail. Took lamisil one month. Was supposed to take 3 months but i had a GI bleed and went to hospial 3 days. Got colonscope & sent home. 6 days later back to hospital, got c-diff infection, in hospial 5 days. Home in bed sick as dog 3 weeks. Got thrush on tongue. Lost tastebuds and everything including water taste nasty! Have lost 25 pounds because cant eat. Weak, tired and miss eatting food. I didnt know about the side affects or i wouldn't have taken this drug. I now believe it was responsible for all my medical problems. It is going to take a long time to get over the c-diff. My quality of life has gone down. I am 58 yr. old female who has had bad drug reactions all my life. Rather have toenail fungus. "

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Prescription lamisil has healed my toe nails. I contacted the infection from pedicures. I've learned to do my own pedicures and have been taking the meds and it's great! I've had liver and kidney tests done and I'm good. At first it did make me feel sick, but after a week of taking lamisil I had no issues at all. There are home remedies to cleanse your liver and kidneys. I'd rather help myself than be concerned with what a control group has came up with as far as side effects. I know it works for me and it's even healed my dry feet. Drink water with lemon 4 hrs after your dose. Just think... People take other pills and drink alcholol, which messes up your liver, kidneys and urinary tract, but thats Ok. I'd rather be healthy than worry about what meds will do. If you have diarrhea then take Imodium. So simple!!"

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "I found terbinafine to be much more effective than the very expensive medications I had previously tried, and it was MUCH cheaper. The fungus was not completely gone by the end of the 3 months, but it continued to work, and now my toenails are beautifully clear. I would recommend it to anyone with the fungus on toenails."

Little toes on both feet clear , the bigger toes on both feet 70% clear and let my say I'm very satisfied with the results so far , from a worst condition to a moderate one is big for me, thank you so much for restoring a quality of life back to me."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "Works great been on it 2 1/2 months my toenails are not yellow anymore only the ends are a little bit. Had toenail fungus for 15 years they where thick and yellow had to file them a lot. Tryed everything to try to make it go away. I am on the generic brand of lamsil. Side effects just watery poop for two weeks nothing more. My feet are not dry anymore there soft. I can wear sandals now without wearing fake toenails or finger nail polish. When on this file the nail down to get the fungus and keep doing it use a different file each time don't wear socks to long keep your feet clean."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "This medication can damage liver function. I was prescribed with Lamisil, after 3 days, I discovered my urine turned into dark tea color, I fell into sick. I go my liver test result came back, it showed my liver was damaged, it's 3 times beyond more than the normal result. I wasn't able to continue to use Lamisil. I also checked if I got any kind of hepatitis, the results came back which indicated that I had never been affected with any kind of hepatitis. Eventually it took me almost 1 year to recover from using Lamisil."

For Onychomycosis, Toenail "So I've been on Lamisil for about a week. The one toenail was turning blackish. It's starting to look better already. The side effects I'm having is a dull headache and terrible flatulence. Also feel out of sorts."

For Onychomycosis, Fingernail "I am a healthy 25 year old male, I cannot remember my toenails NOT having fungus. I lived through the embarassment seemingly my whole life, but once my thumbnail became infected to the point where it was practically gone, I had to do anything to treat it. Doctor suggested I take Lamisil, I think he said it has like a 50% chance of working. I was very nervous after reading reviews, but it also helps that I never drink alcohol. Took it Dec.'11 until March '12, had one liver panel done (normal result). I believe by April my thumbnail was 100% healthy and now (9/12) my toenails are 99% healthy, thank you. Only side effect I noticed wasn't bad, just my farts/stool smelled metallic. I say give it a shot, you can always stop taking it."
