VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I have used Vesicare for over nine years. Only recently did it become ineffective. Also, I have glaucoma, and my eye doctor said I was just fine to use it. I had no side effects, maybe a tiny bit of vision blurriness, but nothing significant and my eyes adjusted; I also attributed it to the glaucoma and cataracts which have since been removed. Within the last few months (after nine years) I have had several accidents which I attribute to stressful situations. My doctor has decided I need to try another drug (I am SO anti drugs!) that he feels will be more effective. He gave me a week's samples. I will try tomorrow. Yes, Vesicare used to be $45 a month; now, it's $135. The new drug -$140 . I am blessed to afford it. So worth it."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I started Vesicare 3 weeks ago. I did help me a little for my overactive bladder but my eyesight is getting very blurry. Also my myopia is worsening. I can read a book without my reading glasses now, so my myopia is worsened by -1. I am going to stop taking it and hope for my eyesight to return to normal."

For Overactive Bladder "I have been on Solifenacin for about 4 years. It has been excellent for the first 3 years.I can go out with friends and don’t have to keep going to the toilet. I did have to go a couple of times at night but I didn’t mind as ok during the day. Recently I have had a different manufacturer every time I pick up my prescription and the tablets don’t always work as they should. This did happen a while ago and my doctor stated to only prescribe the tablets by Morningside. If I mention it to the pharmacist they say that there is no difference in the tablets. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I can put up with side effects but not the frequent changes to manufacturers."

For Urinary Frequency "I've tried Solifenacen Succinate 5mg twice to take the generic over the expensive Vesicare and it just does not work like Vesicare. I was willing to absorb the cost of the more expensive Vesicare myself but then my Pharmacy advised me the cost of Vesicare skyrocketed again."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Taking 1/2 a 5 mg tablet which has reduced the number of times I needed to go to toilet. I find that vesicare causes blurry vision, memory. Some memory problems and dry mouth. I take Movicol am and pm ( laxative) and Biotene for dry mouth and also feel somewhat tired and lack motivation. I hope in 3 month when I trial not taking it for 2 weeks will work as the side effects and the price of tablets make me short tempered."

For Overactive Bladder "I've suffered frequent visits to the toilet for years but it got so bad it was taking my life over I constantly needed to visit the toilet,I didn't leak but was constantly uncomfortable. I took the drug Solifenacin and after several days I couldn't believe the difference I didn't have to worry when I went out Fantastic! Then after approx 2 months my ankles were so swollen I had to stop taking them. I felt so disappointed but now I don't know why my bladder hasn't gone back to how it used to be even though its 10 days since I stopped taking them, very strange hope it lasts."

For Overactive Bladder "I had been taking brand name Vesicare for two years and then when a generic substitute came out my insurance (Medicare and AARP United healthcare) Would only pay for generic which I think is fair. Almost all of my drugs are generic except Myrbetriq another overactive bladder which is far superior to the generic vesicare. Solifenacin is weak and my overactive bladder acts up 6 hours later and I have sometimes taken another pill after dinner so I do not wake up at night to go to the bathroom 5 times. I would give it a zero out of 10"

For Neurogenic Bladder "Diagnosed with cervical myelopathy and have battled severe urinary incontenance and urgency problems for years. Finally had enough and made an appointment with a urologist. After a urodynamic study he prescribed solifenacin. It has made a huge difference in controlling the urges to the point where I hardly ever lose any urine!! Minimal side effects and just really pleased with the results."

For Urinary Incontinence "I have been taking solifenacin for about 2 months. It totally helped my dripping and night time visits to the bathroom but I realized my head felt funny. Not a headache but like something was wrong, like a "full" feeling in my head. It kind of felt like an allergy head. it is hard to put in words. I stopped taking the meds 2 days ago and today my head is back to regular. Did anyone else experience this? I will go back on it but not if the head issue comes back."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been taking 5mg of Solifenacin for 2 months. It certainly helps me to not get up three times a night, but doesn't help during the day. It is easy to take this small pill. I will have to stop taking this because my eyesight has become very blurry. I can barely read the subtitles on TV. In the beginning, I put this down to having Lazer treatment for glaucoma recently. The other pesky side effect is a continually sore throat and dry mouth. The sore throat is not the same as the one you get with a cold, it is more on the roof of your mouth, and nothing relieves it. A friend started to take Solifenacin on my recommendation but stopped two days ago, and her sore throat has gone completely. I also had sharp pains in my shoulder through the back around my rib area and it felt as if I had a lung problem."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been prescribed Solifenacin as I need to urinate excessively during the night. I have become incontinent and have to wear pads. I have been prescribed solifenacin and have been taking it for two weeks. It has helped immensely. However, the side effects are horrible. Constant heartburn, lower back pain, and a huge stomach. I have been experiencing a lack of energy despite sleeping and feeling depressed. I am usually full of energy and upbeat. I feel the negative reaction is not worth the one positive. In fact, this has made me anxious and I am hoping to get back to normal ASAP."

For Neurogenic Bladder "I began taking solifenacin 2.5 years ago. At first I struggled with side effects (dry mouth, constipation, anxious feeling), my doctor advised me that if I could handle it for a few weeks, those side effects should die down, and they did. I have MS and my bladder has taken a hard hit, feeling like I always have urine in my panty liner and feeling dirty sucks. It still happens here and there but nothing like it used too. 6 months ago my insurance stopped approving it, I tried other meds and they were terrible! Finally got insurance to let me go back on this and I’m so grateful!!!!!"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "Do not take if you have high blood pressure. It shot mine through the roof....215/135. Please monitor your BP. Other then that, it did help the urinary incontinence when I stand up. I did not leak very much at all. The headaches associated with the increase blood pressure were unbearable. The dryness in my sinuses was annoying but manageable."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I have been using Vasicare 10mg for more than 3 years. They helped me a lot, I live with them without worries. Before that I tried various pills and none of them helped me like these. I don't have any side effects. Urination problems when laughing I have had my whole life though they help me I hope I won't need to use them my whole life."

For Urinary Frequency "I was prescribed this drug for overactive bladder, after a urolift procedure. It was completely ineffective and caused more problems than it solved. The main problem being constipation. And with being constipated and pressing on the bladder, it was making the OAB worse. Discontinued the drug, but it has a long half life of 48 hours and took 2 days to clear the system. Found ciprofloxin to treat and underlying infection and a stool softner much more effective. I certainly would't recommend it."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Overactive Bladder "I had prostatectomy aged about 65, 17 years ago. It caused urine leak so doctor prescribed 10mg Vesicore daily. I don’t remember any side effects and it was effective, but I still had to wear a small pad. I was happy and reduced the dose to 5mg which was almost as good. I got it on the British health service with no cost to me. Now I am trapped abroad by COVID 19 and ran out of 5mg Vesicare. I ordered genuine Vesicare online and while waiting for arrival I found in my travel luggage some of the very old 10mg which I discoverEd would last 2 or 3 days. Now my online Vesicare, cost about US dollars each, have arrived and are proving very ineffective. I will continue to hope for improvement and I will hope for better when I get back to England. I have checked the packet and information leaflet which seems genuine, although in a foreign language, possibly Persian. I have taken a double dose (2x 5mg) without improvement."

For Overactive Bladder "I have been using solifenacin for 1.5 years now. The drug was helpful for my OAB symptoms, but naturally, there were some adverse effects alongside the treatment. Unfortunately for the last month, the effects have been decreasing and my OAB symptoms have been rising. I have decided to try another drug this week, so as of now I am quitting solifenacin. BTW: I am from Europe"

For Overactive Bladder "I have been taking this for nearly a year for OAB. I switched from oxybutynin because Solifenacin is once daily and prefer to take meds as infrequently as possible. The oxybutynin also gave me concentration and memory problems with occasional diarrhoea. Apart from the dry mouth which is manageable, I haven't noticed any other side effects from solifenacin. It managed my symptoms OK but had better control with oxybutynin. All of a sudden after 9 months of taking Solifenacin my OAB symptoms have come back with a vengeance, not sure what happened but possibly think that I have built a tolerance to this medication and have restarted oxybutynin"

For Urinary Frequency "Really helped with bladder sensations of having to go frequently, some days that was 30 times a day. Now months later, waking up with a very dry mouth, red streaks, and soreness in my throat. Have to call the doctor as my throat is worse and getting redder each day."

For Overactive Bladder "Have OAB with major urgency issues & have tried almost all the meds. Found one that works (Myrbetriq) but it's not covered by my insurance so I had to try Solifenacin 10mg since it is. While the drug is very effective, the side effects are so massive, I had to stop after 3 days. The half life is so long, that I'm still feeling most of the side effects days after I've stopped. Raspy voice, feeling like there is a 'fog' in my throat, shortness of breath, tingling in the hands & feet and excessively tired. Between the extreme fatigue & the sore throat, I was thinking maybe I should get a COVID test, til I realized it was this medication. What a disappointment, as this is one of the 2 most effective meds I've tried."

For Urinary Frequency "In the first place there are two kinds of this medicine one with bigger size tablet and other original small size tablets. The bigger size with same name and dose feels like a fake tablet and doesn't work at all.. The original small size tablet does its work This is serious and has to be looked at. For this reason I stopped using it."

For Overactive Bladder "I was prescribed only 5mg. of solifenacin for my urinary problem. I take it at night as it does make me sleepy. It is short acting and I still have to wear a pad during the day. I also am having dry mouth (which is not a problem) and awful tremors. Will stop this drug tonight!"

For Urinary Frequency "My husband took these tablets for 3 days from 2/9/21 to 4/9/21 and found he couldn’t even walk to the end of his garden by the 3rd day. His acid reflux was worse and found he couldn’t even keep food down as it was getting stuck in his oesophagus. On October 1st he was diagnosed with cancer, Wouldn’t recommend these tablets."
