VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I have suffered from urinary urge incontinence for a number of years. It has gotten worse over time until now, I have had no control at all. My doctor prescribed Vesicare and I have been taking it for two days so far. I can't believe the difference. I am now able to control the urge and even postpone the length of time between toilet visits. It will be so nice to be able to leave home and not worry that I'd better pass a toilet every half hour while I am gone."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Started with 5mg dose of Vesicare, later on, jumped on 10mg dose to help with peeing problems. In the beginning, it helped a lot, but after a few months my body got used to it and now problems are coming back. So overall it does the job, but unfortunately, the effect is temporary."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "My doctor wanted me to switch from Detrol LA to Vesicare to see if it controlled overactive bladder better. For a couple of days, it seemed to. I was going less often and the flow was strong. Then the Vesicare started irritating my prostate and I felt discomfort and/or burning much of the time. I took an OTC painkiller to ease that, and it helped somewhat. Then, after about 2 weeks' use, I started getting mild headaches and severe neck pain. It felt as though I had been bitten by a wasp, but the pain didn't subside like an insect bite. The pain was in the nerves, not deep in the muscle. I also developed dry mouth early on. I am stopping taking the Vesicare and will return to the Detrol LA, which never caused a problem."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Took this medication for two weeks. Did nothing in reducing OAB. Had horrible reaction of severe DROWSINESS! Was so bad I almost went to sleep in traffic a couple of times before I realized what was causing me to feel that way. Lost all my energy and gumption to get anything done. Just wanted to sleep. Then week two I got to where when I went to the restroom, I would just sit there. I could not start a flow without thinking about it for what seemed like five minutes. I stopped taking and called my doctor. Calling in another medication to try. I pray it works without all the side effects!"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Worst medication I've probably ever had! Was only on it for about 11 days, and started to get urinary retention - so decided with my doctor to stop it. Once I stopped it, a couple of days later I had the worse overactive bladder symptoms I've ever had. Was up till 5 in the morning just peeing every 5 minutes for hours! Which obviously made me very dehydrated and anxious. I'm thinking it must have been my system trying to clear out the meds or something! I know it's different for everyone, but I would deffo recommend an alternative medication, or check out posterior nerve stimulation which is potentionally more of a long term solution rather than taking meds! I have been referred by my doctor for this so just waiting now!"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I've used several different medications, but Vesicare has been the best for relieving stress incontinence and especially urgency. It's not 100% but I'd give it at least a 90%. Makes leaving home much easier."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I have had problems for years, with urine leakage/having to go to the bathroom a lot and not being able to hold it. Last year, the doctor that I was seeing had suggested that I have surgery to correct the problem. I would have had to be off work for 6 weeks. I've been on Vesicare for just over a month and it's a lifesaver. I started seeing results almost immediately. Now, instead of having to go to the bathroom every few hours (I drive a para-transit bus) and not being able to make it to the bathroom in time, I go maybe 4 times a day. I would recommend it to anyone that was having problems with overactive bladder. The coupon, that my pharmacist includes, also helps....thanks! My husband says thanks to."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I am a male and I was told that mostly women use this type of medicine. I can't say enough good things about Vesicare. My doctor says it's the only medication in the class of drugs that last the whole 24 hours. It especially helps with my urgent feelings."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I have had three surgeries for stress and urgency incontinence and I kept a diary as to how many times I had to go to the bathroom per 24 hour period as my Mayo Doctor requested. 14 plus times per day ! I started on Detrol and had depression symptoms so I was switched to Vesicare. 100% better ! I would recommend this to anyone. I feel like I have my life back."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I was pleased with the results (Doctor samples) but, when I got a prescription, I was flabbergasted by the price. Average cost for 5mg is over $300.00. None of my current 3 month supplies are anywhere near this price. I would have to increase my Medicare plan to a 4 tier plan which would cost an additional $99.00 per month......no savings there. No thanks.......I cannot fathom why the pharmacuetical companies charge so much or how they get away with it."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "This medication changed my life! I started taking it at age 72. Before then, I thought I was going to have to be housebound, never traveling, never shopping, etc. I started taking the smaller dose and it is working just fine. My only side effect is dry mouth at night but discovered that if I wake up with it, I suck on an ACT lozenge, which immediately alleviates the problem. I did discover through reading the info on this page that it is probably the cause of mild indigestion I've had, probably starting about the time I started taking Vesicare, but I take a Zantac a day and am fine. Oh, the medication started working almost immediately. I would hate to be without my Vesicare, even though it is quite expensive. But it's worth every penny."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Overactive Bladder "Been using 10mg vesicare for just over a year now. (Upped from 5mg after 5 months) BRILLIANT drug for me and my overactive bladder. Only noted side effect was a slightly dry mouth. But hey, no more pads or wee dances on the school run. Been asked to take a 'drug holiday' by my GP and well..... it's been 10 days now, 7 of them with the worst headache ever. About a million pairs of clean knickers been needed and an unhappy "hello again" to the old friend Tena. Sat here writing a review just after midnight as needed to get up for a wee yet again. Suppose I best get back into the habits of dehydrating before I go anywhere, never passing up the opportunity of a free toilet and say goodbye to those pretty knickers for a while. Soooooo hoping I can go back on them soon."

I suffered for 3 years before going to the doctor because I was sure I'd have to have surgery or some horrible procedure done. I wish I had gotten this medicine 3 yrs. ago!"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I initially thought this medication might work. I woke up only 2-3 times each night for the first week and during the day felt I had a bit more control over my bladder. I now think that was merely wishful thinking. Last night (day 5 on the medication), I was up FIVE times. In addition, I have experienced weight gain of 3 pounds and in spite of REALLY wanting it to work, I am still having urge incontinance. This medication is garbage and the manufacturers are laughing all the way to bank. Over $1000.00 for a 3 month supply ($90.00 after insurance)and I am willing to toss it in the trash. That's what I think about Vesicare."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I took Vesicare for several months. It seemed to help some, but my vision was getting blurry, which got worse each month. Scary! I finally stopped it. My vision cleared up. Over the years I've tried: Detrol LA (rubbish), Ditropan XL (not effective), Vesicare (blurry vision), Enablex (worked for a while but still not enough control), and now I am on Toviaz 8mg. So far Toviaz is the most effective of those. It really cuts down on frequency. I only get up once in the night and can go 3-4 hrs without urinating (daytime). The incontinence is much better. My problem is my brain sees the toilet and doesn't want hold off until I can get my belt and jeans down, and my ass on the throne. My insurance won't cover it now so will switch again."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "My bladder weakness was so bad that sometimes I would literally wet myself if I needed to go. I had no control at all! I had to wear pads all the time. I went to the drs who at first suggested things like cutting out caffeine which irritates the bladder. This did help but I still had no control! I was prescribed vesicare 5mg and after about 3 days WOW! I no longer need a pad, I am able to hold on to my urine even if I am desperate! I occasionally forget to take one or 2 and I can tell the difference straight away as I lose control again! Amazing little pill!"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I started on a low dose 5mg of Vesicare for OAB. Worked by third dose. Its working really well for me, no more accidents, no side effects. I take mine with dinner as the evening was when I was up and down to the toilet, which was difficult as I have Rheumatoid arthritits and by the evening I don't want to be getting up and down and can not do so quickly. Also my Goldie dog tends to somehow always be laying in the wrong place when I'm in a hurry LOL. I notice it can make you drowsy and I have been sleeping really well and thats not because of not having to get up at night when in bed as that wasn't much of a problem anyway."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Product works great, however I did experience some side effects, especially when I first started taking it, nothing that wasn't in the information though. I had fairly severe pain in my chest similar to heartburn pain; but this went away over time, and I only occasionally experience minor now (been on it for a year). I also did experience a little blurred vision at first, but again it has gone away. As I am only 43 years old, my doctor I might be able to take it for a few months then stop, but that didn't work, had to go back on it again. Now I take it every other day, which is about 95% effective, but to me worth the trade off of not taking so much medication at my age."

For Urinary Frequency "I'm an otherwise healthy 24 year old. I've always gone to the bathroom to pee a little more than most people but about 2 weeks ago I started feeling like I ALWAYS needed to go, even right after peeing. After being tested for infections and given a bladder/kidney ultrasound my urologist prescribed me this. After 4 doses I feel almost completely normal. VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Had severe urge incontinence for 6 years before seeking help. Was put on Ditropan, then Mirbetriq, both of which helped for about 4 months, then stopped working. Dr. then put me on Vesicare 10 mg which caused SEVERE dry throat and mouth, hoarseness, and sores on tongue due to dryness. With reduction to 5 mg, I've been almost totally continent with no side effects for about 6 months. I hope it keeps on working."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I am a 33 year old female with overactive bladder. Vesicare is the only medication that has literally fixed the problem. I didn't realize how bad my bladder problem was until I started taking it and realizing that I didn't have to get up 3-5 times at night and I didn't have that constant pinching in my bladder anymore. Now the problem is I can't afford Vesicare. I tried using that momentum program they have and that helped bring the price down, but my insurance company changed and now they want me to pay $210 a month. I just can't afford it."

After seeing several doctors with symptoms of UTIs and having pathology determine there was no infection I was diagnosed with urethral syndrome. I usually take 5mg per day and the condition clears up within a week and I can stop the medication. No more tenderness, spasms or urgency. Some dry mouth, but that's easily solved."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Amazing results bladder wise. No more rushing to the toilet for fear of wetting. Dry throat for the first two months but better now. Worst problem is uncontrollable weight gain. This is frustrating as I have a heathy diet. My doctor doesn't seem to offer any help."
