For Osteoarthritis "Got my first shot yesterday. Wasn't as bad as a flu shot. I have had Synvisc shots before with a different doctor that were so painful (but they helped), but I have had other shots from him that were also very painful. I just think some doctors are worse than others at giving shots. So far, so good today. See what next week, shot #2, brings. I think there could be a major difference in how it goes for some people, depending on how severe the bone-on-bone is. My right knee isn't too bad, so I went with the shots, my left knee is too far gone to even try, so I will be looking at a replacement soon. By the way, there was an elderly (near 100) woman getting one before me who said it was a breeze too, so I was glad to hear it wasn't painful for her. Good health, all."

For Osteoarthritis "Have had osteoarthritis for years. I have Factor V Leiden, which is a blood clotting disease. Hematology explained the risks involved in the total knee replacement for both knees, which I need. He suggested Euflexxa injections. The first one was tolerable. The second one was so painful, I vowed not to return. My daughter convinced me to return for the third one. This was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. As of today, I have not had any relief. It's only gotten worse. Can't hardly walk. In pain 24 hours a day."

For Osteoarthritis "First injection was great; no pain and couldn't wait for the other shots so that I could get back to 'normal.' Was tired of living with constant knee pain. I am 62. However, the second injection hurt so badly, I almost fainted. But I was willing to see this series of shots through because I thought the short-term pain of the shots would lead to no longer feeling the long-term pain. The third shot was just as bad as the second. And unfortunately, the injections did nothing over the next six months. Still have an incredible amount of knee pain."

For Osteoarthritis "After 3 shots, the pain is worse. I think I have an injured ligament. The kneecap doesn't hurt. It hurts from above the knee going up my leg about 4 inches. One surgeon said I need a kneecap replacement, yet the kneecap doesn't hurt. It's under the muscle going down my leg to the top left edge of the knee. The Euflexxa made the pain even worse. I'm not a good candidate for surgery, and I'm at a loss at what to do next."

For Osteoarthritis "Felt great starting with the 1st injection. From what I was told and what I have read, it is supposed to take full effect 5 weeks after the last injection. Well, at 4 weeks, my knees started to hurt again, and now at about 8 weeks, they hurt worse than they ever have. $700 out of pocket to feel worse."

For Osteoarthritis "Had my last injection 5/19. Started out with a pain level of 2 and now it is 22. No exaggeration! It is the Memorial Day holiday, so no chance of seeing the PA/MD. I found a pair of crutches in the closet that I find I must use. Even riding in the car on well-maintained roads is painful. The slightest bump is intolerable, so I must stay home. No heat, redness in the joint. Do have one blue circular non-raised reaction near the ankle. Have had other injections in various joints without any problems. Not an allergy-prone person, but just might have to try Benadryl until I can see the provider."

For Osteoarthritis "This is my 2nd series, and the 1st lasted almost exactly 6 months until the pain came back in my left knee. Today, I had my 3rd shot in this series, and the injection itself caused me considerable pain. Several hours later, it still doesn't feel great."

For Osteoarthritis "Had three shots for knee osteoarthritis starting six weeks ago. No relief, only increased stiffness and pain, especially after the third shot. My injections were done blind. I would like more info on the review where the injections were administered by a radiologist."

For Osteoarthritis "I had arthroscopic surgery in 2012 to clean up the damaged cartilage under the kneecap, so basically bone on bone under the kneecap. They also did a lateral release to straighten the kneecap. Two months later, I had a series of 3 Synvisc shots, which lasted two years. I don't remember too much pain. In 2014, I waited too long, and until I had a lot of pain to get the next series of Synvisc. The last shot was painful. We switched to Euflexxa, and I just had the second shot yesterday. The pain the three days after is the worst. After the first shot, it took 3 days to recover and four days of no pain before the second shot. Today is the day after the second shot, and I have much pain. Will report back after the 3rd shot and update to see if this is better than Synvisc."

For Osteoarthritis "Had my first injection today. Had problems for years. Two meniscus surgeries and many cortisone shots. Knee keeps getting fluid, and I have been getting it removed, and cortisone injections haven't been lasting long. I have another torn meniscus and osteoarthritis. I have little pain with fluid removal and cortisone injections. My first Euflexxa injection today was so painful that I can't go back. Level 10 pain for about 30 seconds! Also, it was done by the same doctor that gave me painless cortisone! I was told to do normal activity and no mention of icing? It was my first and last one."

For Osteoarthritis "I had two injections in the right knee without pain. The third injection was so painful I nearly jumped. The Dr. who gives me the injection is a physiatrist, and she gives it as you are sitting on the exam with your leg hanging down. I started the left knee thinking I wouldn't have pain for the first two injections like the other knee. OMG! The pain was so horrendous, and I started to cry. I wanted to yank the needle out of her hand. The needle going in is not an issue. It's the injecting of the serum. THAT is crippling. It's like having surgery without anesthesia. I had to keep ice on it for the next 45 mins. What I didn't know is that after these injections and trigger shots, you should have a massage afterwards to move the medication around."

For Osteoarthritis "Was told I needed a knee replacement on my right knee, not bone on bone yet but close. Had my first injection 12/13/16. Injection was not painful because it was injected slowly as it is thick, only felt pressure as it was almost done. Second injection was a horror as the person injecting just slammed the whole thing in, and I was in severe pain and could hardly walk out of the office. I just had my third injection yesterday, and the person who gave me the first injection did it with no pain. I have felt no real pain in my knee since the first injection so far. Dr. said there are 6cc's of fluid that is now in the joint, so it may feel like you're walking on a bubble. My issue is I'm having very bad back pain, which I'm not sure if that is related to the injection or not."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had the series of three shots and am not feeling better. I felt better after the first shot, but now I'm feeling the same old way. It hurts to climb or descend stairs, walking for prolonged periods hurts, my knees still hurt. Is there a time frame for the injections to take hold and for you to feel better?"

For Osteoarthritis "After 3 years of astounding results from Supartz, I had to miss injections due to having ObamaCare, where my policy was not accepted by my Ortho MD for 15 months. Medicare is accepted, and I returned for my semi-annual injection series, wherein he told me he has seen slightly better results with Euflexxa. After the first injection, I noticed significant swelling associated with an increase in pain from zero to 3. After the second injection, the swelling had increased and pain worsened to a 6, with my inability to climb stairs. The third injection was followed by a steroid to help reduce the swelling, and an infection was ruled out. I am now scheduled for an MRI. Supartz works, Euflexxa does not."

For Osteoarthritis "Has not worked. Told doctor before getting last injection I was having some discomfort and more leg pain than before. He said after this last injection in a week to 10 days I should start feeling better. Well, I haven't done anything but feel better. I have severe pain in my knee and legs feel like my actual bones are hurting, charley horse light feeling going up and down legs and my feet. My legs, if you can even imagine, are worse since injections. Scared of how long these side effects are going to last."

For Osteoarthritis "I had 4 Hyalgan injections 7 years ago, which caused me great pain. I refused the 5th injection because I could barely walk. The doctor recommended Euflexxa because he said this was a different formula. I had 3 injections, a week apart. For about a month, my knee felt better. Now it has been 8 months, and I think this stuff is leaking out from the bottom of the kneecap. When that happens, I can barely walk. Pain and swelling are getting worse. The doctor's PA asked if I was ready for more Euflexxa injections. I refused. No more! Now, I don't know what to do."

For Osteoarthritis "In March, I started to experience pain after a day of ladder use. Thought it would go away. I had never had knee problems before this. After limping around for several months, I went to the ortho doctor. I now believe it was tendonitis and not osteoporosis. I regret this decision for Euflexxa. I am in more pain than I have ever experienced, including torn rotator and several abdominal surgeries."

For Osteoarthritis "I did the 3 injections a week apart on both my knees. I regret doing this. Now I'm in constant pain. I can hardly walk and can't sleep at night. I'm 39, feeling like I'm in a 90-year-old's body. I'm taking 800 mg ibuprofen and using Aspercreme. And I still have no relief. I would not recommend these gel shots."

For Osteoarthritis "Just finished with my 3rd injection, seems like right before each injection my knees started feeling better, but then were injected again and pain returned, which is to be expected. I will try to give an update in 2 weeks. At the moment, my right knee is still sore and hard to bend or straighten, and I am still using a cane. I walk up and down steps sideways one by one so I don't aggravate my pain. I am 47 years old and very busy with work and life. I hope that after a few weeks I can ditch the cane."

"I'm a 60-year-old B-F. Been running since junior high, long distance. Started with 3 miles, gradually increasing. For the last 20 years, averaging 30 miles weekly. In 2022, diagnosed with a torn meniscus, left knee. Miles decreased due to pain. Maybe 8 miles weekly, running slow to walking. In July 2023, had a Monovisc injection. Didn't notice much. In March 2024, had Euflexxa. Normal walking around the house at work seemed old pain came back, but still walking. Noticed improvement after the 3rd to last injection for running, but my regular walking around the house at work, where there was none before Euflexxa. My main purpose for Euflexxa was to run close to what I used to. About 3 weeks after the 3rd injection, I ran 3 miles 95% pain-free, 3 times in a week. The pain during 'just walking' is minor, but I wasn't experiencing it before Euflexxa. To trade off to run again is totally worth it. Euflexxa has helped me. Of course, it's early. The first injection hurt for a few seconds. The 2nd and 3rd barely felt."

For Osteoarthritis "I've been getting these injections for several years in my left knee. Now I am getting it in both knees. This time around I had the usual amount of pain during the injection in my right knee, but the third shot in my left knee was 3x as painful as usual. I almost asked the doctor to stop. I don't know why this happened."

For Osteoarthritis "After highly successful results (2 years relief per series), my insurance insisted on Euflexxa. Following completion of a series of three shots, my previously comfortable knees are completely destroyed. My range of motion is very limited, and walking long distances is painful."
