For Osteoarthritis "I received my 1st Euflexxa injection today in my right knee. I'm only 30, but have had knee problems since I was 9. I'm now bone on bone in that knee, and my left isn't far behind. I can't have my Fulkerson until the last shot, 6 weeks, so it's either do the shots or live with my pain. I must say, this 1st shot has left me in a world of hurt. The shot itself was pain-free (having used ethyl chloride numbing spray), and I walked out perfectly fine. Here it is, 8 hours later, and my knee hurts worse than it has in a while. I hope after I hit that 2-day mark, it will get better. Only time will tell, though. I just wish they'd tell you the '48-hour pain' could be this severe."

For Osteoarthritis "I have been in such severe pain with my knee for 1 year. I went to Arizona Sports Medicine in Scottsdale and had it drained 3 times, 4 cortizone shots within 6 months and didn't help. Then I went to Dr. Charles S. Peterson at Arizona Sports Medicine in Mesa. He is the best doctor I have ever been to. He listens to what is going on with you. He suggested I get the Euflexxa series of 3 shots. I was excited and ready to get my first shot. I got the first shot done. He puts a typical numbing on the surface, then gives me the shot. Oh my, it hurt only when he released the liquid from the syringe, and I could barely walk out, I was in tears. It calmed down. Then the second shot felt great, then I will get a third shot. It really works, I'm on my feet."

For Osteoarthritis "I received the first injection of Euflexxa only yesterday. I am in excruciating pain radiating down to my ankle. I can walk without pain now. I am hopeful, but if this doesn't subside, I am in trouble. 51-year-old avid skier, hiker, biker, and I am stuck on the couch. I will update, but as of now, I am very nervous this has made things worse."

For Osteoarthritis "Was having severe leg pain with 2nd shot, but Dr. gave me 3rd shot without listening to my concerns. 3rd shot disabled my walking for 3 months, lost energy to where I had to rest after taking a shower, unable to walk without a cane or assistance for 3 months, could not put a sock on my foot, as bending at all caused unbearable pain in the groin. Difficulty sleeping with pain without sleep aid. Would never want to experience that again. But, after 6 months, I am able to walk 2 miles daily without knee hurting at all. Primary doc said I had an allergic reaction to the medication."

For Osteoarthritis "Despite the reviews I read about Euflexxa, I received my first injection yesterday. I was scared at first, but I did it anyway. I have an excellent doctor. He explained everything before the injections. He said I would feel the initial stick and then pressure from the medicine going in. He also said I might have swelling and pain at the injection site the next day. I am pleased to report not only did I not feel the pressure, I did not have any pain or swelling at the injection site the next day. When I woke up, I had zero pain in my knee. I am glad I decided to get this injection. I can't wait to see what the second injection will make me feel like."

For Osteoarthritis "I am 28 and have done 4-5 rounds of Euflexxa. So far, it does help decrease pain levels and increase activity. However, this last round, in December, was extremely painful. I am hoping it was weather-related, and not related to the medicine or to my knee getting worse."

For Osteoarthritis "First injection on Friday. No pain. Could walk ok. Next day, real pain to walk. Scale 1-10 (9). I iced down and took ibuprofen for pain. Most pain when trying to walk. Now it's been 6 days, and I've canceled my scheduled 2 injections. I wonder if I will get back to where I was before the shot? I'm 83, female, healthy (retired nurse). I live alone, and it's painful to get around. I read the success stories and wonder what went wrong for me. I also have a sore throat and joints ache, and I am more easily annoyed with my little dogs, I've noticed. I wasn't advised that any pain like this may happen. I believe it should have been."

For Osteoarthritis "I took all three shots of Euflexxa about 10 weeks ago. The shots themselves were somewhat painful, however, tolerable. I have not experienced any relief from the pain of having had the shots done. I still have lots of swelling in my knee, and I'm limping even more."

For Osteoarthritis "I had this before. Good experience. Help lasted 5 years. The only problem I have is to get 3 injections that are very, very painful. Don't understand why they don't give a local anesthetic before injection. Then I was getting Silvist injection, I love that because I only get one injection. My insurance company refused to pay for it. They are! I hope that one day they have to do this! Sorry, just my opinion. Doctors need to take a stand against these evil, cold insurance companies who refuse to treat the patient right instead of making them suffer. They aren't doctors, they know nothing about what I need. The people who run insurance companies have ice running through their veins, they are not human."

For Osteoarthritis "I'm 44 and have osteoarthritis in both knees with Baker's cysts. Was told due to my age to try this as opposed to more drastic measures. First shot was about equivalent to getting a cortisone shot in my knees, pressure but bearable discomfort. A little sore the next day, week 2 and 3 about the same. Now I did just get a cortisone shot 2 weeks before starting the Euflexxa, but I figure now I am about 10% of the pain I was feeling prior. I hope it's the Euflexxa and not the cortisone masking it. Knees feel better every day and still pop here and there. But movement is dramatically better. 6 weeks since my first shot and I'm impressed and happy with my decision."

For Osteoarthritis "3 injections. The 1st, not much change. The 2nd, a little better. The 3rd hurt and was painful, but after all was settled and done, my pain was alleviated a great deal. I'm a 49-year-old female with bone-to-bone arthritis and could barely walk. Now I'm good. I noticed, as time has passed, I'm a lot more active, and now I'm starting to go to the gym to lose weight and strengthen the muscles that support my knees. That way, when the Euflexxa wears off, I will be better able to manage my pain. I am one month down with my shots, and it's a 70/30, so I'm very happy with it. My doctor did state that since I am bone on bone, I had a 50/50 chance of it working or not. Well, grateful to say it works. Keep you posted in another few months! Great results so far."

For Osteoarthritis "My first experience with Euflexxa was almost 2 years ago. It gave me the much-needed pain relief and joint flexibility to continue with my passions of trail riding, backpacking in the mountains and canyons, downhill and cross-country skiing. It also allowed me to sit for hours while paddling my kayak without knee stiffness and pain. As it is not a permanent solution, I did recently receive my 2nd series of 3 injections as the stiffness and creaky knee was starting to return. Already I feel great and have a wonderful, oiled gate instead of a rusty, creaky one. Thank you to all who helped develop this active life-returning medication."

For Osteoarthritis "Left knee arthroscopic cleanup. Still bad. Steroid injection relief for a couple of months. Another injection with fluid removed and same. Can walk on even ground with little to no pain. Cannot go up stairs still, so try Euflexxa. After the first of three shots, I am in pain walking on even ground now. Worse. Back does not hurt, just knee on standing or walking. Don't know what the surgeon will do about this. This knee looked salvageable, so no replacement offered yet. Ironically, the other knee is totally bone on bone but has no pain. Was hoping to get through summer without big surgery."

For Osteoarthritis "My doctor recommended Euflexxa in a severely arthritic left knee after 18 months of cortisone shots. The cortisone worked very well, but there were concerns about using it 'long term.' I had 3 rounds of shots, with the last round 5 weeks ago. I have more pain now than before the shots. I am woken more at night with pain and have more constant pain throughout the day. The only benefit from the Euflexxa is a mild increased tolerance for kneeling."

For Osteoarthritis "I played tennis 5 times a week for over 25 years of my life. This and arthritis since age 13 destroyed my knee caps and caused my left knee to deteriorate to bone-on-bone, and the bone marrow was bleeding out. I had the knee replaced and had a horrible recovery over 6 months and many months more for ankle and foot pain. Then my right knee became unbearable, and I decided to go for the gel. I had my first injection last Monday and felt better within the same day. Walking was less painful, swelling around the knee went down, I could sleep at night. I am very happy with the results so far, got another injection today, and I hope that this will continue. I am 75, had a new knee 12 years ago, and hip replacement recently."

For Osteoarthritis "Immediate difference after the first shot - what a relief! Subtle differences after shots 2 and 3. Got my 6-month booster and was relatively pain-free for 1 full year. Doctor said I was a good candidate for Euflexxa because the arthritic damage was not too severe yet. Time to get another booster."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had 3 injections of Euflexxa in both knees in a 2-year period. (Each treatment lasted approx 9 mos.) After each injection, I experienced swelling and some discomfort for approx 3 days, but rest and ice took care of it. 2 weeks after the 3rd injection, both times I could return to walking, climbing steps, and riding my bike with no mobility issues or pain. I was so happy to have Euflexxa. Knee replacement is not an option for me due to a blood clotting disorder. Last week, I went in for my 1st injection in year 3. 12 hours after injections, I presented with pain, severe headaches, nausea, fever (100.8-101.6), chills, aches. I contacted the Dr. who said I was having a reaction to Euflexxa. The other 6 injections never did this. I am going on my 4th day of terrible side effects and have no idea how long this will last. The Dr. canceled my future injections. Before you try, question your Dr. on side effects and if you are high risk for an allergic reaction. It is not worth the risk."

For Osteoarthritis "Had three sets of injections in both knees in February 2023. Pain and discomfort began in the left knee with each injection. As time passed, knees are worse than prior to injections. Had gel injections about two years ago that worked fine. Wish I had gotten the same type as before. These injections made the condition worse."

For Osteoarthritis "Female, 66 years old, OA both knees. Got no relief from cortisone injections, so doc recommended Euflexxa. 1st injection was painful, and no relief noted. 2nd was more painful, and instead of relief, joint pain was worse. 3rd injection was very painful, and I am now at 3 weeks after the last injection, and I’m feeling worse than before I started this. Joint pain in hips and knees, pain in calves down to ankles - getting worse every day. I was really hoping that this would be beneficial and be able to avoid surgery. I see the doc again in 2 weeks to discuss what’s next. I won’t do this again."

For Osteoarthritis "I received my first injection, and for me, it was extremely painful during the injection, to the point that I wasn't sure I could go through with a second and third. I did experience mild discomfort afterwards, however, that subsided in about a day. In the following week, my knee felt much better after my first injection, with much less aching and pain. I have my second and third to go and am moving forward with the injections, as I feel the benefits outweigh the painful injection experience."

For Osteoarthritis "Six weeks since first injections in both knees. Have arthritis and tore the meniscus in both knees last fall. Right knee is 90% bone on bone. First shots did not hurt. Second shots, wow! How I got through it baffles me. Third shot, no pain, just uncomfortable. I'm 47. Noticed a difference after the first week; now we are 5 weeks out, right knee is stiff again and I'm having pain and problems walking. Left knee is hurting, but nothing like before the shots. Am hoping insurance will authorize TKR for the right one. Am basically unable to do anything pain-free."

For Osteoarthritis "I had meniscus repair in December 2015. The doctor tore my hamstring during the process, so I ended up in PT for 6 weeks. Within a couple of months, I was walking 3 miles a day again. By the end of April, my knee was swelling and painful. Had cortisone shots twice, and they didn't help. The doctor recommended Euflexxa. I noticed a positive difference after the 1st and 2nd shot for a day or two at a time, both shots did not hurt. By the time I had the 3rd shot, it hurt so bad I cried, and my husband had to carry me out of the doctor's office. My knee has been like a cantaloupe ever since, and my other joints are swelling and achy. Nothing positive has come from these shots for me. I'm scheduled now for a partial knee replacement this December."

For Osteoarthritis "I had my meniscus repaired last November after a fall the previous year. I had tried physical therapy, ice, heat, Celebrex for 9 months. I have arthritis, which is extremely painful. I received the first cortisone shot, which gave me wonderful relief for 6 weeks. Pain worsened, so I needed to have my knee drained on three separate occasions and more cortisone shots. My knee is still very swollen, at least twice the size of my other one. I got Euflexxa shots over a 3-week period. They were painful when administered. I experienced nausea and a headache after each shot, approximately thirty minutes after the injection. I didn't have any relief, unfortunately. My surgeon feels it's time for a knee replacement. I am happy for those who report success."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a series of 3 injections of Euflexxa by recommendation of my Dr. After the third one, I was told I wouldn’t see any improvement for about a month after. That month came and went, and I was in worse shape than before. I had more pain, stiffness, and general discomfort. These injections were done blind, and when I asked for a follow-up, I was told to seek another Dr. as there was nothing more they could do for me."
