For Osteoarthritis "60-year-old woman with bone-on-bone and need TKR. However, my doctor suggested Euflexxa, saying I was too young for surgery. I am one and a half months out from my third injection. After the first injection, I was able to sleep through the night without my knees locking, which was a huge improvement. My doctor said to take it easy for 48 hours after each injection and to ice four times a day. Right knee responded much better than the left, but I do have some pain relief in both knees. I started Physical Therapy 4 weeks prior to the injections, and the doctor advised to continue as long as my insurance will pay. My doctor advised I will be at my optimum 3 months out from the third injection."

For Osteoarthritis "Bone-on-bone in both knees. Retired RN, 68, did 12-hour shifts for 21 years, really hard on the knees. Walked into Orthopedics unable to put any weight on right leg without pain. After the first injection, pain was gone. Got #2 and #3 a week apart. No pain for two years!"

For Osteoarthritis "It's been 8 months to the day that I had both knees injected with Durolane. Walking and going up and down stairs is still very difficult. This has weakened my knees and leg muscles. My leg gives out now and then. My balance is off. I can't run. Whoever approved this should be sued and jailed!! My quality of life has dropped drastically. I'm 71 and can't play with my grandkids like I used to. It's like I'm 10 years older. I don't know what to do about this now!!!!! I'm giving this a 1 because I can't give a negative#"

For Osteoarthritis "Have had good results so far. Am a week out from the third injection on my left knee. Plan to start the series on my right knee next week. Injections were painless except for the last one. Definitely ice the knees after the injections and don't overdo activity for a couple of days. I think that's why the third was more painful. I am 64 with severe osteoarthritis and moderate rheumatoid arthritis. Know replacements are inevitable, but want to enjoy as much as possible until then. Good luck everyone!"

For Osteoarthritis "I have had two knee surgeries in the past 20 months. I had 3 rounds of Synvisc with no relief whatsoever. My doctor suggested Supartz. Although I was hesitant, he convinced me to try it. Boy am I glad I did. I went from walking with a noticeable limp to biking 35 to 45 miles at a clip and walking with no pain. This occurred in 5 weeks!!! I am thrilled with this medication and would recommend it to anyone suffering knee pain. The worst that could happen is it doesn't work."

For Osteoarthritis "I just finished the third injection of Gelsyn. I went to the ortho because my knees hurt at night. I was able to walk, work on my vegetable garden, and my flower bed before the injections. Now, I am not able to do anything, my knees hurt all the time, and every time that I walk, there is so much pain in my knees that runs through my legs. Every morning when I get up, the pain is so excruciating that I have to use a walker all the time now. I sent a message to my doctor, and he responded that if I am on blood thinners or have kidney problems, they can't do anything. I responded that I am not either one. He didn't tell me about the side effects. I trusted him, and now I am a cripple. The nurse that administers the shots said that it will take 6 weeks to feel better. I will see if it is true. 5/11/21"

For Osteoarthritis "This was my first Euflexxa injection out of a series of three. I see a lot of people saying their injections were painful. I'm just wondering, did their doctor use an ultrasound machine and watch through a sonogram while injecting? Because my injection was completely painless, I didn't even feel the needle. He used the machine to watch on the screen first the injected lidocaine, kept the needle in the joint, unscrewed the barrel, and then put the new barrel with Euflexxa on, so I didn't have to be poked twice. Very gentle. But I'm a little concerned now hearing about all of these stories of pain after the injections. I don't feel any after my first one. I'm hoping that this works for me because the clicking and popping from the patella femur arthritis syndrome is so bad, and the stiffness and pain are unbearable."

For Osteoarthritis "Today is Day 5 after my injection. I really regretted the decision on days 1-4. Yesterday was particularly bad, with one of my knees buckling every few steps. Today, I have no pain, and I am greatly relieved. Apparently, the internal swelling caused the nerve pain. Swelling is gone, and pain subsided. Yeah!!!"

For Osteoarthritis "I used Euflexxa for the first time in April 2019. Prior to that, I always used Hyalgan, which is the original form for this treatment, and had very good results. I questioned my doctor on why he would want to change, but he said it was a better treatment. Well, that was not the case. It was the worst thing I have ever done to my body. Within three weeks of my final injection, my body went into systemic inflammatory response, I had an allergic reaction, and developed something that is called polymyalgia. There is no question if Euflexxa caused the situation. Two months prior to getting the injections, I had my blood work done, and I was very healthy. One month after using Euflexxa, my inflammatory markers went through the roof. I was in bed for over two months. I have now been on steroids since July 2, and I'm getting better. I would stay away from that stuff."

For Osteoarthritis "I have moderate arthritis in both my knees. I did cortisone shots twice over a six-month period. Helped a bit. Started with the Gelsyn. I’d say one knee was pretty good and my other knee maybe a 7 out of 10 in pain relief. Only lasted two months. Now both my knees are killing me."

For Osteoarthritis "I have bone spurs and osteoarthritis in my left knee. I am a candidate for a total replacement, however, I am trying to postpone surgery for as long as I can. My doctor recommended the 3-shot series. I had my first one yesterday. I have not had any side effects from it other than a little soreness where it was injected. I am hopeful that this will buy me some time."

For Osteoarthritis "In June, I had Gelsyn-3 injections; about 4 weeks later, I began to have the feeling of something crawling on my legs. A couple of weeks later; painful spasms in both thighs. I don't know if it was a reaction to the injections; but this is now getting worse. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the reaction after taking injections. Thanks for your input."

For Osteoarthritis "Supposedly, Durolane is artificial hyaluronic acid used for those of us who are allergic to eggs. Had a shot and could not walk out of the doctor's office. The pain was the worst I have ever had, and I have severe OA in both knees, which in itself is a lot of unending pain. That knee now has a whole lot more excruciating pain. Can't recommend it because I think it harmed my condition."

For Osteoarthritis "Had 3 injections of Euflexxa. The ortho used ultrasound to assure placement of injection. This was a year ago I had the first injection. After the 2nd injection, the knee was 50% better, and 3 weeks after the 3rd, the pain was gone. I will do it again if pain returns."

For Osteoarthritis "I'm a 65-year-old male and for 2 years I've dealt with the OA in my right knee that made me think it was time for a knee replacement since I was told sometime back that it might be my next option. Went to the orthopedic doctor, took some X-rays and said he thought my pain was from a few bone spurs and OA and suggested we try the Euflexxa shots. My last shot was on the 5th of January and my knee feels great and now I can get my life back in order."

For Osteoarthritis "With most joint fluid replacement plans, you have to wait. MDs should be telling you to get the full series, keep your range of motion good. Don't make a decision about effectiveness until you COMPLETE the series, then wait 6-8 weeks. Be wary of the reviews of those who indicate relief after one shot."

For Osteoarthritis "Had my second of three Euflexxa injections yesterday afternoon and am finding that my knee feels better with each shot. The injections result in a bit of a pinch followed by brief pressure, but are not painful. Seven years ago, the same doctor who is administering the shots scoped my knee to shave off bone spurs, vacuum bone chips, perform a lateral release, and micro-fracture. Ultimately, the knee is going to have to be replaced, but I'm hanging my hopes on Euflexxa for several years of additional relief before taking the jump to surgery. The downside is that my insurance company, Regence, will no longer cover Euflexxa beginning July 1, 2015. I intend to write a letter recounting my success to appeal for continuing coverage."

For Osteoarthritis "Got the Durolane injection in my right knee, then 5 days later I’m in the ER with an infection and now have to be on infusion antibiotics 3 times a day via a PICC line for the next three weeks. I would NOT recommend this drug!"

For Osteoarthritis "I've been taking the 5-injection series for about 9-10 years and have had great success. I've found relief immediately after injection #1. The first series lasted over 18 months. I never had any pain from the injections as some people have experienced. That might be due to whether or not the needle went into a muscle or bone, not the fault of the Supartz. When my doctor gives me the injection, I never even feel the needle being inserted. He's a pro."

For Osteoarthritis "I received the Gelsyn-3 knee injections, one each week for 3 weeks. The first injection, my knees were sore, but I really didn't feel much different as my knees still hurt as before. I received the second injection, and that next day I began having more pain than I had ever had. I started hurting behind my left knee, which had never hurt me before. I felt fatigued and had leg and thigh pain at night that I couldn't sleep most nights. I really didn't want to get the third shot but was advised by my doctor that after the third shot, I should start feeling some relief. I told him my knees hurt worse than they did before, but he said that should go away, so I got the third injection. A few days after the third injection, my legs started hurting all over, especially at night. I had a headache, my lower back hurt, and I was just sick all over. This went on for several weeks. It's been 6 weeks after the injections, and my knees are no better. I would never do this again, NEVER!"

For Osteoarthritis "I'm starting on my 2nd set of Euflexxa injections. My first series was 6 months ago. I didn't think it helped my knees very much, but thinking back over the last 6 months, I've had very little discomfort in my knees. I've hiked and played tennis all summer, so maybe it did work! I'm just now feeling the discomfort returning, so I'm now going in for another 'round' of shots. The shots are not painful for me, just a little uncomfortable but not real pain. My insurance pays for the injections. I'm 62 and have bone on bone in both knees. Just hoping to put off TKR for a while."

For Osteoarthritis "I am on my 2nd injection of Gelsyn-3, and the pain is gone, but my knees feel wobbly, like my kneecaps are rolling around. I am going to take the 3rd injection and subsequent injections as needed, along with the Kenalog injections every 3 months. In the meantime, I am going to work on losing the extra 33 lbs I gained because that is when the knee pain started."

For Osteoarthritis "I got the Durolane injection on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, and when I was walking out of the office after the shot, it felt good, but by the time I got home, it hurt some. Every day I get up okay, but by lunch it hurts some, by evening it gets worse, and then last night, April 16, 2020, was the worst ever. I tried ice and heat, and finally a Toradol pain reliever. I was able to wake up okay, but it has been bad all day today. It says give it two weeks to fully feel the effects. I'm bone on bone and have a lot of arthritis in my knees. I pray this works."

For Osteoarthritis "Had first series a year ago, no pain or swelling after injections. My knees are bone on bone and doctor wanted to do knee replacement, too much arthritis and due to age they did not want to do arthroscopic surgery. I refuse steroid injections as they only mask the problem. I am very sensitive to medications so I was very worried about a reaction from Euflexxa but had none. Pain was gone after 2nd shot and has lasted a year. Just had next series in left knee and am having right knee done starting next week. The only other option is knee replacement and after what happened to my husband, will only do it if the pain becomes unbearable. Totally satisfied with Euflexxa"

For Osteoarthritis "I am 41 years old and have osteoarthritis in both knees. I have tried everything from steroid injections, medications, and physical therapy without any long-term relief. The steroid injections were really painful and didn't last, so I was very hesitant to try the Euflexxa. My Orthopedic Dr. gave me two choices (lubrication injections or arthroscopy). I knew that I didn't want the arthroscopy, so I went for the Euflexxa. I was terrified but needed some relief. My first injection hurt a little and my knees were sore for a few hours. My second injection hurt a little more and was sore a little longer than the first time. I will have my third injection in 2 days and can't wait. I am so glad that I did it! My knee pain is very minimal."
