For Osteoarthritis "I had both knees injected on Feb 7. I have had Synvisc injections 3 times over the past 5 years. The doctor suggested Durolane. She said it would be one injection instead of 3 like the Synvisc. The Synvisc had worked great for me. Since she said it would work the same, I agreed to do it. The pain was unbearable! When I left the office, I could barely walk. I had to keep my hand on the wall to maintain my balance. When I got home, it was very difficult to walk up and down the stairs. I can't believe they allow this injection to be used. It's been almost 5 months and I'm still having difficulty walking. I have a tingling feeling above the knee and in my foot. I'm sure there are going to be some lawsuits over Durolane. This should never be used on anybody!"

For Osteoarthritis "Had this injection a month ago... absolutely useless. Did nothing for my right knee, still in acute pain. $500.00 down the drain. Really think about this, wish I had, but pain was so bad, I would try anything for relief. It might work for you, but certainly not for me."

For Osteoarthritis "Day three after my first Durolane shots in both knees. Right knee, no problem. Left knee, pain with some swelling for two days. Now feeling great! I am excited to see how the next few months go. Word of advice: ice, elevate, and Aleve. Rest for 48 hours, it’s worth it! Good luck."

For Osteoarthritis "1st injection Nov 16th stopped my knee from popping and pain relieved. On my second injection 11/19/19 No pain with the injections. Make sure you get a doctor who has done a lot of these procedures and is good at it."

For Osteoarthritis "I'd read several reviews about how bad the injection was, etc., and to be honest, they scared me to death. Today I just had my first injection. It was zero pain, and maybe it's in my head, but my knee already feels better. Typically, on these sites, you only hear from people who've had a bad experience. So far, for me - (fingers crossed) - it's been good."

For Osteoarthritis "I am a 62-year-old male who has played soccer up to the age of 44 when my knees stopped me. I have endured the pain from bone-to-bone osteoarthritis for over 16 years. The pain would be moderate sometimes and debilitating at other times. After my first shot of Euflexxa in both knees, 4 weeks ago, I was amazed at how pain-free I was walking around. I have just completed my 3rd shot and am still amazed. I am hoping to stave off TKR for as long as possible. Thanks to Euflexxa, this will be a reality."

For Osteoarthritis "Durolane is AMAZING! I had my injection on Nov 1, 2023 and still have NO PAIN in my right knee. However, and I've noticed within this thread, the injection is BEST with ULTRASOUND GUIDANCE. If Durolane ends up outside the joint, pain is almost immediate. This is because of its high molecular weight. When you read this thread, guaranteed the bad reactions were because the injection was WITHOUT ultrasound and Durolane will take 6 months to break down - terribly painful. MAKE SURE YOUR DOCTOR USES ULTRASOUND AND CONFIRMS PLACEMENT!! I feel bad for people who've been getting injections without ultrasound."

For Osteoarthritis "Have had knee pain for going on 10 years. Got to the point I couldn't take it anymore and went to an ortho doc. He said right knee total bone-on-bone osteoarthritis and left knee is following but not completely bone-on-bone yet. He suggested Euflexxa shots, saying the only other treatment would be a partial knee replacement. I figured it wouldn't hurt. I had the shots in December 2012. First shot, no difference. Second shot, seemed to feel better, 3rd shot no change. About a month after getting them, my knees still hurt. Figured it didn't work. But now two months later, I can actually go up and down stairs with minimal pain. I can go shopping and as long as it isn't an all-day affair, I do fine. Didn't take pain away completely, but it's better."

For Osteoarthritis "I'm 61. Late last year, I began having very painful osteoarthritis in both knees. Dr. said I'm nowhere near bone on bone, but I could hardly move. I got cortisone shots which helped, but I still had pain and could hardly walk. I felt 100 years old. I just completed a series of Euflexxa and I am walking normally again! I have over 40 stairs in my house and I am so far back to normal! This has been a lifesaver. I thought I was permanently disabled but I'm walking with no pain."

For Osteoarthritis "I received Gelsyn-3 injections in both knees. My doctor changed my medicine from Supartz to the Gelsyn-3 without consulting with me about the medicine change. I had extreme pain in both knees and dizziness upon leaving the doctor's office, which only became worse, along with injection site pain and excessive kneecap area swelling. Terrible bone and muscle pain all the way along my femur bones. Also, hives around the injection site. After each shot, I had terrible trouble walking and had to be on bed rest for 3 to 5 days after each injection. Rest assured, I will never have these injections again, and as of today, I still haven't had any relief, and I'm still in pain every day. The injections actually made my knees worse. I have problems from these injections and pain that I didn't even have prior to this terrible drug. I reported side effects to my doctor and the drug company, but nobody seems concerned. I have never regretted anything more."

For Osteoarthritis "I am over a week out from my third shot of Euflexxa in my knee. Pain in knee continues to worsen each day to the point that I can barely walk. I know this is not normal, but the doctor won't listen to my complaints about this drug. Wish I never did the shots. P.S. My doctor recommended Monovisc, but my stupid insurance company would only approve Euflexxa. Not sure where to go from here... hope this disaster isn't permanent."

For Osteoarthritis "Upon reading all of the negative reviews, I chose not to have the injection. The following day I thought... this is my only chance at having a better life! Well, thank GOD I manned up! I just had the shot a couple of hours ago. The injection was okay 2/3 through, but at the final 1/3, it did get a little uncomfortable, but I knew things could only get better after this! I say, GO FOR IT! Better off giving it a shot, lol, than to wonder if it would have..."

For Osteoarthritis "I had Durolane injections on both knees, and I regret it very much. I have hurt worse than before and have struggled to even walk. It’s been almost 3 weeks, and I’m starting to feel a little bit better, but I’ll never do that again. I’ll stick to cortisone shots until I get a knee replacement. It was so expensive, above my insurance, and definitely not worth it. I don’t recommend Durolane shots at all."

For Osteoarthritis "I was seriously considering knee replacements, but at the age of 59, my doctor suggested getting these injections to get some more years out of my knees. I'm so happy I did it. I used to power-walk for 4 miles quite frequently, but with the arthritis, I could just walk slowly for about a quarter mile. After the injections, I'm doing great, and I'm back to power-walking. As of now, it has been two months since my injection."

For Osteoarthritis "I just got mine today. I am 38 years old. I have some bone-on-bone. I found a great doctor. They marked my knees, sprayed something to numb it. BAM! NO PAIN, I FELT MORE PRESSURE THAN ANYTHING. Walking out, I felt AWESOME. NO CREAKING IN THE KNEES, AND I AM ONLY ON VISIT ONE. CAN'T WAIT."

For Osteoarthritis "I had one injection in each knee. The first 48 hours I rested and limited movements. No pain nor swelling from injections. My left knee had been really painful 5-6 months before treatment. Both knees are bone on bone. The pain from the stress on the left knee is subsiding daily now. I'm having to learn to walk normally again, but I am so happy I had the injections. I will be having knee replacements sometime next year, but this will give me time to lose weight and get my legs back in shape."

For Osteoarthritis "I was taking Vicodin during the day and Oxycodone to sleep at night because of the severe pain I was in with osteoarthritis. After a series of 5 shots in each knee, I have experienced complete relief for 2 years. Just recently I have started feeling the beginnings of some joint pain and am scheduled to begin the series of shots today. I'm hoping this round is as successful as the last."

For Osteoarthritis "This stuff is awesome! The awful side effects that people have mentioned sound like what happened to me with a cortisone shot. It's NOT the injection or the medicine. Your doctor/PA/MA injected the needle into your nerve. I had the exact same thing happen to me. It took one month for the inflammation and pain to go away. The nerve pain was unbearable. I couldn't sleep, walk, sit, or stand up properly. Then, I went to a different PA who injected the Durolane above my knee, not into the nerves on the side. What a difference it made! It didn't hurt at all, not even the lidocaine. I experienced no side effects, just a little pain from the injection. But applying ice for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off took care of that during the first 24 hours. I can't emphasize enough to most of you that Durolane is NOT the problem! You're suffering from intolerable nerve pain. This stuff really works and has made a huge difference in my quality of life!"

For Osteoarthritis "I have osteoarthritis in both knees, torn meniscus surgery three years ago. I have had two rounds of cortisone shots in the past year as well. Nothing has helped, so I decided I would try the gel injections. I wish I had read the reviews before I put myself through pure misery. Both legs were injected with Durolane on December 12, 2019. They were the most painful shots I have ever had! I could barely walk after the injections at the office. I followed my doctor’s orders and iced both knees several times. By the evening, I was in so much pain. I couldn’t sleep at all that night. I went the first two weeks with so much discomfort while trying to sleep. For several days, I could barely walk. Now it’s been three weeks, and my knees are no better. In fact, my right knee stays swollen, sore, and painful most of the time. My left knee aches daily. I can barely bend my knees, sit on the toilet, or put on clothes. I do not recommend getting these injections!"

For Osteoarthritis "I had bad knees and had to hang on to the railing and felt a lot of pain going up the stairs. I had 3 injections of Gelsyn-3 around July of this year. I had wanted a knee replacement, but my doctor said that should be the last option. I had babied my knees because of the pain. Then the nurse told me that before I am given a knee replacement, they would like to see my knees get stronger. So I started exercising my knees, which felt a little better after the injections. Now I can go up the stairs without pain and can sometimes try to scamper up the stairs. I will continue my exercises and after 6 months see if another round of shots is required."

For Osteoarthritis "Knee, loss of cartilage in both knees. Series of 3 injections 1 week apart. The first lasted 12 months, the second lasted the same period, and now I'm getting the 3rd series. It works excellently. The use of Euflexxa has been excellent and continues to work well without pain for 12 months. This is my third series of injections."

For Osteoarthritis "I got a Durolane injection on Tuesday. Just in the left knee. So glad I decided against getting both knees done. First day was okay. I had some soreness, but my pain continues to get worse each day. It is extremely difficult to get a good night's rest. I have difficulty walking. I was doing so much better prior to the injection. I did the one thing I tell everyone else: don't put your faith in the doctor because they don't know everything. I so wished I had done my research, then I would not be in this excruciating pain. No more of any kind of injections for me. I can deal with my normal discomfort. But this pain is almost unbearable. Do your research!!"

For Osteoarthritis "Yesterday I had the Durolane injections done in both knees. I'm a 40-year structural ironworker and have severe arthritis in both knees. Cortisone shots in the past have not helped. After reading the reviews, I had second thoughts. I spoke to my general practitioner, whom I trust, and he recommended I get the shots. In the past, I've had shots in the roof of my mouth, epidural injections in my back, and I can say this was by far the worst pain I've ever experienced. I have an extremely high pain tolerance but have never experienced anything like this. My whole body clenched up, and I had to breathe through it for 5 to 10 seconds. Then I had to do it again on the other knee. I could barely walk after. Hobbled to my car more like. The pain subsided throughout the day a bit, and I hoped to go to work the next day. Absolutely no way. I woke up at 4 a.m. in extreme pain and am now back to icing and heating my knees again and can barely walk. I would never wish the pain of a Durolane injection on my worst enemy."

For Osteoarthritis "I have bad knees, walk my dog, garden, and swim. I had the first round of Gelsyn-3 and felt fine. The second injection hurt bad in my right knee. Took my dog for a little walk and two hours later my right knee hurt so bad I was dragging my leg. Four days later, I cannot bend my knee to get in the car. I will not get the third injection. Someone else was complaining about a headache, I also had one."

For Osteoarthritis "I’m 53 and have bilateral OA. I completed the 3-shot series of Euflexxa and am 3 weeks out from the last injections. I am in worse pain and struggle to walk more now than before I started getting the injections. Daily life has become so different as even grocery shopping is difficult. If I stand or walk longer than 5 minutes, I feel as though my knees are giving out on me completely. At the end of a day, all I want to do is lay down because I can no longer stand to be on my feet causing my knees any more exhaustion. When you are desperate for relief, you will try almost anything to find even 10% relief. After failed cortisone injections, my doctor suggested Euflexxa. He said, “You’re too young for replacement surgery.” At this point, I want to be able to walk. My 72-year-old mother walks and acts younger than I do. Come on already!!! Euflexxa a waste of money, and the extra pain it has caused me is frustrating. Do NOT get this!!"
