"I'm a 76-year-old man who is diagnosed with EBMD after cataract surgery. I had pain in my eyes and inflammation. My ophthalmologist prescribed this over-the-counter medication to reduce the swelling as well as increase the moisture. I will tell you that for me, it did increase the moisture considerably, albeit mainly water and not the fatty type of tears. This medication is available both as an ointment and eye drops. If you have dry eye, I recommend the ointment before you go to bed."
