Senna "Traveling abroad and had three days of constipation. Normally, I'm a daily guy. Thought my system was holding onto something bad I ate, so I decided it needed a little help expelling big bad toxins. Senokot did just that and more! I took one dose at 9 pm. By 3 am, I was on the pot with explosive diarrhea. It's 6:30 am and I'm back on the pot writing this warning for others to heed. I have to travel at 9 am. I hope this ends soon, as taking Imodium is not ideal either. I probably should have drank prune juice instead."

Senna "I tried Senokot for the first time (2 tablets), without knowing what the possible side effects were. I started experiencing some serious stomach pains, nausea, and dizziness about 8 hours after taking it. I thought something was seriously wrong with me, but after finally going to the bathroom, the pain went away completely about an hour later. Although the side effects were really awful for me, it did work."

Senna "Senokot is something I swear by. As a child, I stretched my bowel to double the size it was supposed to be as I have chronic constipation and ended up in the hospital. I am now an adult and have to deal with it on a daily basis, being prescribed to take 4 laxatives a day just to make sure I can pass my stools. Sometimes I deal with very big blockages, and Senokot is the only thing that clears my bowels and prevents me from having to go to the hospital for the doctors to flush them for me. I would highly recommend Senokot to anybody who suffers from the same amount of constipation as me. For reference, sometimes my blockages get so big they create a visible lump in my stomach that can be quite painful. I will say that I do get stomach cramping after taking Senokot, but it is nothing compared to what I have to deal with on a daily basis."

"Took one senna tablet before going to bed. Then had the worst stomach and bowel cramps I have ever experienced. The abdominal pain was absolutely unbearable to the point where I thought I’d have to call an ambulance out of fear something was seriously wrong. Sweating, severe nausea, headache, shaking. I did have a bowel movement eventually, but the pain simply wasn’t worth it. Took about 18-20 hours to have an effect. Two days later and I still don’t have any sort of appetite and have a stomach ache. Would 100% not use ever again or recommend to anyone else."

Senna "Went to the hospital for back pain, where they gave me a ton of meds that bound me up, and I was afraid to get fecal impaction, so I took 2 tabs of Senna, and holy moly, I have been in severe pain for like 4 hours... never again. I went poo and now have tremors in my tummy and feeling sick to boot with pain."

Senna "After spending 2 hrs reading the reviews for Senokot, I was deathly afraid to take them. I finally caved, and I took 2 at 12:30 am. I felt nothing except a few minor rumbles the next afternoon. Finally, about 6:30 pm, I started getting cramps. Yes, they hurt a little. But when you spend half your life constipated, a little pain is nothing if a good BM follows, and it did. By 7 pm, I was in the bathroom. It took a few minutes, but it worked well, and I felt about 5 lbs lighter. I went once again about 15 minutes later. Loose stool. And that was it! So, while for some this medication obviously causes them great pain or just doesn't work at all, I was all for it. Chronic constipation is awful, so it was worth it to me. Don't let the reviews scare you."

Senna "If you take Senokot, make sure you DON'T have any plans the next day. About 12-24 hours after every time I take this, I get major cramps, which really sucks. I only use these if I haven't had a bowel motion for about a week because the cramps are just that bad. I'm currently hiding in the basement because there are guests over, and it just kicked in after 19 hours. :( It DOES relieve constipation, though."

Senna "I found Ex-Lax due to a friend. I sadly have to take these every day or I don’t go. I know they say don’t abuse them, but I seriously have no choice. I drink plenty of water, and I’m fine. My stomachache has gone away, and I don’t feel like a three-hundred-pound cow now. Is this a bad thing that I take it daily?"

Senna "Constipated since Christmas Day 2016, now January 10th, 2017. Went a little every couple of days, nothing to write home about. Took one Senokot last night at 9 pm. 7:30 am next morning had some rumblings, a little cramp, then went as normal. Felt a little nausea and a bit of tummy ache for 30 minutes, then okay. Thank goodness."

Senna "I've suffered from constipation for as long as I can remember. Only having a BM maybe once or twice a week, if I'm lucky. A family member suggested Senokot. I take two every night before bed and have a (very runny) BM when I wake up. I don't usually get cramping or any other side effects, but when I have to go... I HAVE to go ;) I did read where some suggest that taking this long-term can make one's bowels sluggish and may stain the GI tract. Well, they were pretty darn sluggish before Senokot, and I don't care what color my colon is. So, I'm going to continue to use them."

"If you are constipated from pain meds, this medication will work well. Just ensure you take it with a stool softener, or else you will cramp (if you have been unable to go to the bathroom for a very long time). I'm on pain meds, and put simply, pain meds block certain signals in your digestive system and therefore inhibit your intestines from pushing stool through regularly. Senna makes your intestines start moving again. If you’re constipated from being dehydrated, do not take this. It will give you cramps. Take something like magnesium citrate or another stool softener like docusate sodium. Know what is causing your constipation and treat it accordingly."

Senna "Do NOT buy. I took two tablets at around 8 pm on Sunday night. The following morning, I felt fine and had a BM that afternoon. However, that night, I developed severe pain in my stomach. I began dry retching and had the chills. I also lost my appetite. It is currently Wednesday, and I have been bed-ridden since Monday night. I still have stomach pain (however, it is definitely not as bad as Mon/Tue) and have no appetite. Do not, under any circumstances, buy this product. I’m sure there are other products out there that don’t absolutely destroy you. How they can have this product on the shelves with these kinds of side effects is beyond me."

Senna "This is a wonderful aid for constipation. 2 pills at night. Easy as a swallow at bedtime. No side effects whatsoever. Works overnight (or next day). Each and every time. I am on many medications and Senokot worked in perfect unison with a variety of medications, and always did exactly what was expected. It changed my life."

Senna "Well. I took 4 tablets as directed before I went to bed. After around 12 hours, the tablets allowed me to use the bathroom as soon as I awoke in the afternoon. Insane diarrhea though, but I'm glad that it helped my constipation."

Senna "I had a bit of constipation and felt quite bloated, so I took a Senokot with the softener. 1 tablet around 3. Had a fairly minor BM at 5 and a larger one at 9:30. No cramps, no nausea. Had a wee bit of gas, and when I had to go, it came somewhat suddenly, but nothing that left me frantic or uncomfortable. I’ll see how the rest of the night goes, but it seems to be doing its job."

Senna "I'm sure Senokot works for many, but as the comments show, it doesn't work for everyone. It personally does nothing for me but give me terrible stomach pains. If it doesn't work for you, try Dulcolax, which is very effective."

Senna "I took one tablet as I had felt constipated for several days. Shortly after taking it, I was in a serious condition, doubled over in pain much worse than labor pain, I thought I was going to die. I screamed with the pain of each contraction. This went on all night and for several hours after. I was in a cold sweat and sat on the toilet screaming all night. I did not want my young daughter to be frightened, so I kept the door shut and used the toilet downstairs. I felt completely exhausted and wrecked for days afterward, as if I had been through a baby's labor. I wanted to call an ambulance, but was in too much pain to move from the toilet. I have never experienced pain like this and have had long labors with three babies weighing 10 lbs. This was unbearable and the pain was 10 out of 10. I have not gotten over it, it was terrifying. I thought I was going to die. Please do not take this poison."

Senna "Took two before bed after being advised to by my doctor, woke up feeling the same. After a few hours, needed to go, but nothing came out, went to work and felt my stomach churning and groaning. Got home, had my dinner, and now diarrhea. But not explosive or terrible! A tiny belly ache, but nothing bad. At least everything's moving!"

Senna "I have had 2 back surgeries and take pain meds that have constipated me over the years. I have been so constipated I've had partial blockages. I've tried everything from laxatives to enemas, citromag, and milk of magnesia, and everything in between. I can honestly say Senokot has by far worked the best for me. Yes, I have cramped and felt nauseous, but only when I have been extremely impacted and haven't had movement for 2 weeks or more. But right as you release, all the nauseous feeling and cramping is gone, and it doesn't come back, and that's only been for 10 mins until my stomach brewed enough for a movement. But now I've learned if I haven't released in a week to just take 2, and I don't have cramping or feel nauseous...it's a much more pleasant experience."

"This worked perfectly fine the first time; I went so much! The only complaint is cramps and bloating, and just be aware that when it hits you. You gotta go. So don't be in class or a meeting, but I guess that's a given when taking laxatives. Overall, good product that gets the job done."

Senna "Senokot is a disgusting medication. I don't even understand how it's even legal to sell this. Not only does it not get rid of constipation, it gives you more problems on top of it. Basically: gas, nausea, extreme dizziness (sometimes I feel disconnected from reality), extreme farting, diarrhea (yes, I have constipated diarrhea now, even I don't know how it works, basically, a bit of poo comes out like water around the solid bit of poo that stays inside and creates cramps, making the constipation even more unbearable). Never take this, I beg you."

Senna "Oh holy god, I have very mixed feelings about this Senokot. It is effective at getting things moving. Took it four days in a row, and on the fourth day, I now have the most horrific stomach cramps ever, the worst I've ever had by far, and I keep having to go over and over again. I've already gone three times today, and as I write this, I feel the urgency again. I will not be taking these again, that's for sure. They do work, but these cramps (which I see others have reported too) are really, really not worth the bother."

Senna "This worked really well for me. I was completely constipated for two weeks, and had tried Milk of Magnesia and Dulcolax with no effect at all. My Dr. recommended Senokot, and I took 1 of the Extra Strength at bedtime. It took 12 hours for me, but then everything got moving with ease again. I didn’t have cramps, pain, or diarrhea. I would definitely use this again."

Senna "I've been having major bowel issues, was in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. After getting out, I was worried it would happen again. Spoke to a pharmacist, and they suggested this every night until my bowels move normally and to stay and continue on Restoralax and then back off Senokot. It worked great for me. No complaints here!"
