Secukinumab "Started with a runny and dry cough. About 12 hours later, my legs hurt, a little later, my back hurt so bad I didn't feel like I could stand up or walk, and I felt really dizzy, followed by chest tightness that made me think I was having a heart attack."

Secukinumab "I have had psoriasis since I was 8. Psoriatic arthritis since I was 15. I was on methotrexate, then Humira, which stopped working after a year. I was off treatment for a year and a half, and the pain was unbearable. Then I was put on Cosentyx. I took it for two years, and it worked great. The pain, which was 9/10, has reduced to 2/10. The skin was clear, and the joints were swollen but not painful. Now I have to stop taking it because I suspect intestinal disease. I had no side effects except for nausea on the day of the injection. It changed my life and my quality of life. If I hadn't been forced to change medications, I would still be taking Cosentyx today."

Secukinumab "I have had very good luck with Cosentyx. It prevents my inflammation from getting too high, causing severe joint pain. I do still have minor flares occasionally, but the severity of the pain involved is much lower. I have no side effects, and I do not get frequent infections. I get about one viral 'cold' a year, which resolves on its own in about two weeks. I think Cosentyx has the best autoinjector of all the biologics I've used, it is almost painless in the 150 mg size. I take two 150s every month. I've tried the 300 mg autoinjector, and that was terribly painful, so I stick to two 150s."

Secukinumab "I was diagnosed 3 years ago with psoriasis. I'm pretty sure I've had it for a long time. Red spots appeared on my legs, so the dermatologist biopsied them. The arthritis aspect hit about 2 years ago. I started Cosentyx in July after 3 years on methotrexate (apparently it was affecting my liver enzymes). It worked on my PA pretty quickly, but in September I noticed I was extremely aggravated, easily irritated, could not think straight. My thoughts raced so fast that I could not think straight. I could not make decisions. After a lot of research and being told by my adult daughter that I was not myself, I did a lot of digging and research, only to find out that Cosentyx can cause manic episodes. That was exactly what happened to me. I've been off it for a month, and now I realize that my psoriasis is 100 times worse. I have bumps literally covering my body. I had pustular psoriasis on my toes, and now I have several patches of plaque psoriasis, which is something I did not have before. This sucks."

Secukinumab "I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, possibly Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. It’s possible that I developed Crohn’s disease or colitis due to the medication, but it’s also possible I developed it because if you have one autoimmune condition, you can develop others. I take 2 150 mg shots every 28 days and feel great. I also take prednisone during a flare-up or just not to have bad side effects during the initial injections, less severe symptoms."

Secukinumab "Worked brilliantly from psoriatic arthritis. However, I have recently had a painful outbreak of pyoderma gangrenosum on my hands and have suffered near-total hair loss from my scalp in three weeks! So, my rheumatology doctor has halted Cosentyx treatment in case I'm suddenly suffering from an adverse reaction to it."

Secukinumab "I have been on Cosentyx for 6.5 years. At the beginning, I just about quit because the side effects were very intense. I am so glad I continued, my psoriasis is 99.9 percent gone, and it keeps the psoriatic arthritis 80 percent controlled. I can't say thanks enough to the doctors, nurses, and Cosentyx. Honestly, not sure if I would still be here without it. Thanks again."

Secukinumab "It's been 5 years since I started Cosentyx, and my skin is slowly starting to break out again, and it still hasn't been as effective as I wished it was on my PSA. Major issue is Cosentyx seems to have contributed to my weight gain, and I can't seem to shift the weight no matter how much I try to exercise, which is difficult most of the time, and I even changed my diet to 75% vegetarian, and still my weight won't budge. I'm also thyroid-less and menopausal, which doesn't help, but my weight started to climb when I started Cosentyx. It's so disappointing, and my rheumy sees nothing wrong. Not surprised."

"It's working very well. I am on week number 4. So far my rashes from psoriasis are gone. My joint pain has improved 70 percent better and no adverse side effects. I have only had some crying towards the next dose time. So maybe it's a spiritual walk for the first month. Will report back after I am off for 3 weeks."

Secukinumab "At first I get flu-like symptoms, but after a few days to a week, I feel better with no joint pain. I just got a flare-up of my psoriasis, but it’s going away. My doctor just increased my injections to 2 150 mg injections, so I’ll update my results from the increase of my dosage."

Secukinumab "I was on 25 mg of prednisolone and 20 mg of Arava, and sulfasalazine, for PSA. My rheumatologist put me on Cosentyx after a fecal test for IBD, which was negative. Two days after my first loading dose, I noticed pain in my rectum and fissures. I then couldn’t go to the toilet and couldn’t sleep, waking in anxiety in the middle of the night, absolutely excruciating pain. I rang my GP and rheumatologist, and they told me it would go away and to keep going. I injected the next dose, only to be worse, so was sent for a colonoscopy, which came back clear. So, they diagnosed me with IBS. I refused to keep taking Cosentyx, as my Cosentyx nurse also said this raised red flags. My rheumatologist switched me to Humira, which is absolutely my miracle drug. I am off all other drugs, just Humira-no pain in joints and skin fully clear. I am back to a normal life, swimming and working physically. Love Humira."
