For Bowel Preparation "This was my 3rd colonoscopy and first time with Plenvu. Plenvu did not work for me. I followed the directions to take the first dose at 6 pm. The flavor is nasty mango. The solution is very thick and slimy. I started gagging before the first sip, gagged the whole time while drinking it within the 30 minutes, barely able to drink the 16 oz of water afterward. About 20 minutes later, I vomited (projectile vomit) 3 times in a row. I didn’t know if any of that nasty stuff was absorbed into my system, so I called my doctor, canceled the appointment after being on the liquid diet all day. Around 8 pm, I started having BM and no more after 10 pm. I never took the 2nd and 3rd doses, so I don’t know how it tasted. Plenvu is absolutely horrible."

For Bowel Preparation "Was a struggle for me to drink this. I was very nauseous and did vomit with the first dose. Every sip was close to a vomit. Took me 2 hours to not quite drink it all - 50 ml left. An hour later I had to start the 2nd dose (3 hours after the start of the first). I struggled again and was very concerned. I managed to drink it without vomiting, but it took me 2 hours again. This time, towards the end, I started holding/blocking my nose while sipping and keeping it blocked for a few seconds after swallowing… this was effective and stopped me from vomiting. If you are struggling, try blocking your nose. Overall, I hated the drink, but it was very effective, and my bowel prep was rated as excellent!"

For Bowel Preparation "None of these preps are going to taste great, it’s just a fact. After a horrible experience with vomiting and near-fainting from Suprep with my first colonoscopy in 2018, my new doctor gave me Plenvu. Plenvu was much better all around. However, this time I had the anti-nausea drug Zofran, so I don’t know how I would have done without it. The taste was slightly better. The first dose (mango) tasted pretty foul, the second dose (fruit punch) was better. Used ice cubes and a straw with ginger ale in between. I was able to drink the second dose without a chaser at all. The first dose didn’t clean me out much, the second dose did the job. Doctor said my prep was excellent. One drawback - the prep hung around after the colonoscopy. I had an accident in the office shortly after getting dressed. Had to keep running to the bathroom after I got home. To everyone complaining about Plenvu: if you had to endure Suprep like I did (salty carbonated water), you would welcome Plenvu."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my 1st colonoscopy, so I had no history to look back on. The reviews on here were spot on for Dose 1. It’s an awful mango flavor that’s sweet, salty, and thick. The mere thought of it still makes me queasy. I managed to finish 95% of it in about 40-45 minutes. Drinking apple juice in between sips was definitely helpful advice. I had a temporary crown installed the week before and was on a very soft food diet, so that really helped. Dose one did its job effectively. My doctor gave me anti-nausea meds, and I took those based on the reviews from this site. I had zero issues with bloating or cramping. Dose 2, at a wonderful 4:15 AM, was another awful fruit punch flavor that was just as sweet and salty as Dose 1, but thank God it wasn’t a syrup consistency. I choked down 90% of it and quit when I threw it up. Overall, this was an awful prep experience, but I never really vomited, so thankful for that at least. My colonoscopy went well."

For Bowel Preparation "So I wrote a review after the first Plenvu dose. I had bowel action for about 2 hours after the first dose with no stomach cramping. The urgency wasn’t too bad, and no accidents. I took an antiemetic so I didn’t have any nausea or vomiting. Then came the second dose. It’s a good thing I took a second dose of antiemetic because that second dose was DISGUSTING—far more disgusting than the first dose. I had to rinse off the straw after each drink because the taste was so foul, but it was really hard to clear the taste from the back of my throat. I got through it by rinsing out my mouth after each swig and then swallowing crushed ice and Gatorade to get it out of my throat. I also cleaned my tongue with a rag, that’s how totally gross this mixture was! It took me over an hour to get it down—the bowel movement started immediately after the first swig. The liquid was like syrupy Bubble Yum mixed with syrupy Juicy Fruit mixed with a gallon of fake sweetener. It was incredibly awful!!!"
