Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "I started using Elidel about a month ago after being diagnosed with Eczema on my face, arms and shoulders, and after topical cortico-steroid creams failed to work. Elidel cleared up my skin very nicely. This summer has been very hot and humid where I live, so my skin has had quite a few breakouts. As long as I used the Elidel at least twice a day, my Eczema remains under control. The only side effect I have noticed is a warming sensation on my face, but I can live with that. Elidel, is by far the best product I have used and thankfully I have a drug plan where I work, because it is expensive."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Physician was wary of keeping me on steroids on the face since the dermatitis and eczema was still coming back. She gave me Elidel and it worked really well, things cleared up within a few days. Initial side effects were application burning and itching, but skin got used to it and I don't get that anymore. I kept on it for several weeks and the dermatitis didn't return by itself. I still use it for any missed spots of eczema or dermatitis that flares up. It's safe to use on top of my Avar LS wash, so now lots of my dermatitis and eczema is under control with this combo. A personal positive side effect is that it inhibited hair growth on my upper lip where I used it."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "Prescribed to me for Seborrheic Dermatitis on my nose, eyebrows and eyelids. Elidel made the inflammation worse for me and migrated into my eyes causing a lot of itchiness, irritation and pain. Cost with discount card given to me by my doctor was $100 for a 60mg tube."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I had seborrhoic dermatitis constantly for a number of years, however coming across Elidel cream we have been able to counteract the effects by using an autoimmune cream which’s will rectify the effects of dry/rashly skin."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "Amazing. Have had seborrhoeic dermatitis on face, scalp, ears, chest and butt crack for years. Used moderate strength steroid for a week or two every month (not ideal on face and around eyes) to control it but it kept flaring up a week or so after stopping. Had elidel for 2 months, only used half a tube (7.5g approx) and symptoms settled with no side effects. Only need to use it one or two days a week to keep it under control without the need for any steroid!"

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "I've been using Elidel twice a day for a week and it has reduced the burning and itching of my POD about 90%,however, I'm still dealing with its brownish red scars which is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I'm gonna continue the use of Elidel for another 3 weeks and again share my experience."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "After daily use of topical steroids (was told I needed topical steroids by Drs to treat does milk protein related rash as an infant) for 40 years, I started topical steroid withdrawal at the advice of my daughter who covered it in med school. I used elidel for a couple years off and on then stopped for several months. Recently I tried using it again and I've had severe swelling in my face. Raised lymph nodes under my arms. I believe my skin is looking for the elidel however this time using it, it hasn't been effective. Find your allergy/irritant and stay away from this demonic med and topical steroids."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "I suffered with itchy, red, flaking skin around my eyelids for years. I had always just used a moisturizer and cortisone to try and keep it in check. I was prescribed Elidel recently and it works great. Initially I could not stand the side effects. Hot/burning/itching sensation after applying a small amount. I would also get a stuffy nose after use. Going into the shower seemed to aggravate the side effects even more with really hot feeling on my eyelids. HOWEVER, after just a couple days usage my eyelids cleared up. Now I only need to use for flare ups. Also, the side effects don’t seem as bad now in subsequent uses….maybe the body adjusts to the med. very happy with the results of this med."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "Eczema on my hips for past 23 plus years and it was always manageable with different creams but with all the TV commercials saying meds are out there for eczema I decided to visit my dermatologist and ask for help so when I had a flare I didn't have to use steroids. I tried Eucrisa which was decent but messy (an expensive version of Vaseline). I asked for something else and he offered Elidel. After two days I was so itchy but I managed to give it 7 days and I just can't do it anymore. One week was too much and my patches are redder and angrier... Elidel did NOTHING for my Eczema not a darn thing... no side effects, not better, just itchier and drier like I was using nothing! Had to go back to my regular reliable creams and occasional steroids."

For Eczema "Started using this and within 3 days I had all the symptoms that were described in the brochure about side effects. My wife also had all the same symptoms. Its been over a week and I still feel like crap. I would think twice about using this product. At $106 per tube and feeling this bad is not worth it. It did nothing."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "Amazing! I had major breakouts around my lips, upper lip, eyelids, under my eyes, and all around my face. After using Eldiel within 4 days I’ve seen a HUGE improvement. With eczema, it comes and goes. Not this time, been using it for about a month now and I can say gladly I had no flare-ups and my face is clear. Using the cream did make me feel a bit nauseous."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "It seemed to be working and reduced the redness and bumps of POD in a couple days. I was having extremely congested ears and noticed that is a side effect of this drug. I discontinued use of it and it went away. I tried using it again and the same thing happened - ear congestion. I guess I can’t use it because of side effects."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Atopic Dermatitis "Absolutely amazing. Daughter aged 12 has suffered with seborrheic dermatitis for about 3 years. I have tried literally every OTC cream available. Prescription topical steriods do work but only if used almost daily which is not great on such young skin. Was prescribed Elidel by a private dermatologist and told it is slow to work. Day 2 and her skin had almost cleared entirely giving her back her confidence immediately. Not even a week in and applying twice a day she now has clear skin and is so happy. I paid just over £30 on a private prescription and it was worth every penny."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Eczema "I have suffered from eye eczema since 2016. It came on during a period where I was very depressed. I have tried everything OTC costing hundreds. Emollients make the condition worse especially paraffin based. I was prescribed Elidel as nothing else has worked. I have a red rash, scaling, peeling raised rash and discoloration. I tried elidel around my eyes alone and noticed it does cause soreness. I have started to apply it with hydrocortisone ointment (not hydrocortisone cream/can make skin more sore especially if it is already irritated) although this isn't ideal. I apply it twice a day and do not use anything else whilst treating eczema including other moisturizers. Use elidel alone once the rash and other symptoms clear then proceed with moisturizers Keep an eye to ensure it doesn't enter the eyes as this will make it worse. Overall its fantastic and the only one that clears it up. Check all creams and soaps etc. if you can go without the suspected products you’ll notice a difference."

For Eczema "Been using cream since I was about 8 years old after other creams failed to work and I had to see a specialist. I am now 18 and still using elidel. My eczema flares up with stress and elidel keeps it under control during these times, the rest of the time I use a moisturiser. I still have outbreaks but have found other ways to cope to keep my eczema at a moderate level. When I first started the cream it had a burning sensation but I no longer experience this."

For Perioral Dermatitis "The second time I had the flare up around my mouth, I was using a face wash with bubbles (never use anything with bubbles) and I at a last ditch effort tried to see a dermatologist hoping this time it wouldn't make it worse. (the first time I suffered for a year trying new things the derm gave me) I was prescribed Pimecrolimus and after 2 days the itchy rash was already looking better. After 1 week it was almost completely gone and I was left with clear smooth skin! I tried a mask that had a sulfate in it and I started to break out again and this cream has saved me once again! Thank goodness for this. I use Simple Micellar Water, rose water to moisturize with no flare ups unless I try something new. This cream is a lifesaver."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) "I have super sensitive skin and a history of rosacea. Since Covid and having to wear a mask, my skin has been angrier than ever. I get bumps around my lower face. Went to the derm and she said to try elidel. The first time I used it it burned like crazy so she told me to put it in the fridge...that didn't help. It continued to burn and then on about day 6 I started noticing I was getting way more bumps and redness. Used it for a few more days thinking maybe it would eventually help before I realized the Elidel was actually causing the reaction. Within a few more days my face was red, covered in bumps, swollen, burning, itching...it was agony. And it kept spreading to all parts of my face (because I would put the Elidel on the lower part of my face in the morning then apply sunblock so it spread). I ended up having to take prednisone for 4 weeks. I don't know what I am allergic to in that stuff but never touching it again."

"Reluctant to try elidel for psoriasis at first because of steep price and possible negative side effects; but after two days has cleared my once red and cracking skin on my face (Psorasis.) It DOES burn pretty bad but after first couple of applications, not as bad. Avoid going into sun immediately following application. Planning to not use it once symptoms totally clear."

For Perioral Dermatitis "In UK. Began getting redness and flaky skin on my face a few years back. Tried all the topical steroids which just had no effect. It came and went, each time coming back affecting a new part of the face. Saw a dermatologist, he subscribed Elidel... I haven't looked back. A tube costs about "

For Atopic Dermatitis "If you suffer with atopic dermatitis/ severe eczema, then you should give Pimecrolimus 1% cream a shot. I was prescribed the Pimecrolimus 1% cream, and it started working within a day. The side effects were horrible on day 1 and day 2, but it lessened as the days went by. In a week, I saw huge improvements with my skin. Out of all the prescriptions I've had in the past, I believe this one was the best!"

For Perioral Dermatitis "I've treated my lupus (scale with periodic discoid patches) with clobetasol + plaquenil + occasionally prednisone. As a last-ditch effort to avoid another round of prednisone, I tried Elidel. The first time I put it on my skin, I thought, "This feels so good," but didn't want to get my hopes up. Within 48 hours, my stubborn flared-up skin that had been unfazed by clobetasol was transformed. I started googling this miracle drug Elidel and came across this site. I so hope this cream helps others with lupus."

Elidel (pimecrolimus) for Perioral Dermatitis "I have struggled with POD since coming off of Accutane 1.5 years ago. I have tried a few treatments, and they have always helped with the pain but never really helped with aesthetics. It sometimes goes away on its own but it always ends up coming back with a vengeance. My dermatologist prescribed me Elidel 1 month ago, and oh my God, it is the best thing on this earth. It burnt for a good few hours when I first applied it, but nothing unbearable. It has completely cleared up my POD, and I am seeing my face properly for the first time in years. Definitely, definitely recommend."
