For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "After the 1st chemo treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma, I had severe lower back pain from the Neulasta injection for almost 24 hours. It felt like someone knocking from the inside. So bad I could barely talk. After the 12th chemo treatment, I ended up with still a lower back pain, but I had a hard time sleeping since every time I moved a little, I would get this discomfort (don’t know any other way to explain it) all across my back, hip, and side. Even trying to sit up straight was daunting. The doctor had prescribed a painkiller, but it didn’t do much good, and that Tylenol/Claritin combo did not help. That back pain is still going on for several days. I’m constantly afraid to move."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "I have an injection the day after Taxotere chemo for breast cancer. The aches kick in the day after and two days later are very uncomfortable, mostly in my bones down from the waist. I take 4 x 200 mg of Ibuprofen with my morning cuppa and that takes about an hour to take effect and will last me until about tea time. Then I take a couple of paracetamol before bed. When it starts to get better after about 5 days, I just take a co-codamol tablet before bed and then I sleep. My doc has approved this regime. I even resorted to drinking wine one night and yes, it dulls the pain, but I felt rubbish the next day. I experimented to see what worked for me. My blood count is excellent, so it all seems worth it."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "Stage 2 breast cancer. Have gone through 2 rounds of chemo with Neulasta. First round, I experienced awful bone pain in femur, pelvis, and upper back for several days. Could not sleep, and Tylenol barely touched it. Second round, bone pain was intense in upper back but only lasted an hour. It was a long, painful hour, but it subsided after about 60-70 minutes. Again, Tylenol and Claritin didn't seem to give much relief. On third round, much less pain this time around. Only slight discomfort, but I am able to sleep and operate during the day as normal. The Neulasta is working for my WBC, and I will stick with it since I am more afraid of an infection and hospitalization than the pain. The pain is bad, but infection is a far worse prospect."
