"I have an injection the day after Taxotere chemo for breast cancer. The aches kick in the day after and two days` later are very uncomfortable, mostly in my bones down from the waist. I take 4 x 200mgs of Ibuprofen with my morning cuppa and that takes about an hour to take effect and will last me until about tea time. Then I take a couple of paracetamol before bed. When it starts to get better after about 5 days, I just take a co-codemol tablet before bed and then I sleep. My doc` has approved this regime. I even resorted to drinking wine one night and yes it dulls the pain but I felt rubbish the next day. I experimented to see what worked for me. My blood count is excellent so it all seems worth it."

"I had my first chemo on 9/17/21. Went to the office on 9/20/21 for my Neulasta injection. The pain didn’t really start until about 2 days after the injection but day 3 landed me in the ER. It felt like tiny ninjas were inside of me breaking my bones apart with a jackhammer. Every bone. Legs, hips, ribs, sternum, arms… I’ve had 4 kids and used no pain meds during labor. I would have all 4 back to back rather than feel this pain. My WBC was 0.0. That’s right, ZERO. So not only am I suffering this pain, but I’m at extreme risk for infection. Suffering the horrible side effects of chemo, acid diarrhea which led to colitis, plus this bone pain almost made me want to give up on chemo all together. I did take Claritin, ibuprofen, Tylenol, and the doctor had me take steroids. The steroids were the only thing that even touched the pain."

"I've had 6 doses of Nulesta and have not had any side effects at all. I would recommend placing it on your stomach, as I first had one on my upper arm and almost ripped it off getting dressed bc I forgot it was there! I take 1 Claritin a night which keeps the bone pain away. Mine was a very positive experience and I would do it again."

"My 89.5 year old mom got a shot of neulasta on Tuesday. Her first and only one. She has been so sick; we are assuming from the shot. She has a red rash and severe left upper abdominal pain. Sharp pains and tenderness. And sharp pains when she breathes in. It has been 5 days since the shot and the pain is still strong. She isn't having bone pain at all, like some others have. We are hoping she feels better any minute now and have delayed seeking medical attention as we hope this will pass. She sees her dr again in 3 days and hope he acts like he cares."

"This drug is OVER used and used unnecessarily!! Theres no need to raise peoples WBC count into the 30's!! 2nd dose caused a supposed allergic reaction - it felt like my head, neck, back and forearms were on fire! Like 3rd degree sunburn! Temp dropped to 94 degrees hypothermia?! Theres no antidote! Ride it out with benadryl and Tylenol!! If our blood work is good WHY do they make us get it??? I believe my side effects were from too high neutrophil/wbc count! It didn't have anything to do with the "drug" itself! Btw too many wbc causes hair loss too! I refused 3rd shot and I feel so much better this time!!! Hardly any side effects from a/c chemo at all!! Last dose on day 2 hair was falling out in globs! No neulasta this time and I have zero hair loss! Coincidence??? Makes me wonder which drugs cause hair loss???"

"Three rounds of chemo and reactions to Neulasta have been horrible. Oncologist says I need this and I am fighting him. No bone pain (lucky) but tightening of the throat, hard to breathe after the patch, and thought I would pass out. Thought it was a reaction to Clairtain after OnPro so tried Neulasta a second time. After the second chemo the same thing happened. Thought I was going to pass out, throw up, have diarrhea, or all three at the same time. Scary. The third time went in for the injection with nurses so they could watch me. 24 hours later (after no reaction immediately) ended up in the hospital after horrible abdominal pain and peeing blood almost all day. This is NOT a good drug."

"Stage 2 breast cancer. Have gone through 2 rounds of chemo with Neulasta. First round I experience awful bone pain in femur, pelvis, and upper back for several days. Could not sleep and Tylenol barely touched it. Second round bone pain was intense in upper back but only lasted an hour. It was a long painful hour, but it subsided after about 60-70 minutes. Again, Tylenol and Claritin didn't seem to give much relief. On third round, much less pain this time around. Only slight discomfort, but I am able to sleep and operate during the day as normal. The neulasta is working for my WBC and I will stick with it since I am more afraid of an infection and hospitalization than the pain. The pain is bad but infection is a far worse prospect."

"This drug ruined my life. I have never been the same mentally since they forced me to take it and didn't even tell me I could ever have a issue from any of the treatments. I would be up for 3 days shaking I thought I had parksinsons. My mind felt the same. I couldn't hold myself still for 1 second. All they could do was sedate me in the hospital for a week each time and even in my sleep I couldn't go 30 seconds without twitching my mom said. It was the worst part by far. After a year of that every month being up Friday to Monday shaking broke me. This was in 2008 I was 22. It robbed me of the prime of my life. I still can't work and I want to but can't unless I have I.V. fluids at work daily. It was 100% Nuelatsa nothing else. I begged them at the end not to give it to me and they said do u want to live or die? I wish I died. It would have saved my family alot of pain and money."

"My first round IV chemotherapy with Obinutuzumab went surprisingly smooth. No issues . Had the single injection given by RN of Neulasta on day 5. Was told about the bone pain, etc. But in no way at all was I prepared for the severity, it was off the 10 in a pain scale. My body from hips to base of skull was excruciating. It came in waves, I can only compare to labor pain where while body tightens up almost spasm like. I called the after hours doctors line. Told to take Claritin and doctor phoned in rx oxycodone for 2 days. Picking up the oxycodone at pharmacy, I was crying. I have never done that in my life over pain. This pain literally kick me hard. All my searches say bone pain with Nuelasta. But no where did it say what the severity could be. Was no where near prepared for this. Hopefully I will be prepared next round and see if pre taking Claritin will help."

"I take Claritin every day. I still had excruciating aches and pains. 7 days later I can finally walk upright. My oncologist will have to find something else. My WBC was 26, so Neulasta does work, but I can’t use it."

"My first experience with Neulasta was a nightmare. It was worse than chemo where I almost died because I was allergic to the medications. After Neulasta was applied, I felt as though someone had a remote control and was playing a game where they were zapping various parts of the inside of my body all throughout the night. It was extremely painful. What made it painful was each zap was like an ambushed surprise. The next morning I was worn out, sore, swollen, and my skin was extremely tender to touch. I did not enjoy this experience at all. On top of just the Neulasta, the chemo gave me mouth sores and made my hair fall out along with blood clots. I was a mess. Neulasta does not get high marks from me."

"Burning abdominal regions, hard stone like ovals on both sides , flank and torso area. Burning starts from top center of stomach goes out to both torso sides. The whole abdominal area gets hard like when I had contractions during delivery. Pressure is awful. I feel like exploding perhaps it is my spleen. I have elbow and knee pain, plus neuropathy. Overall feeling awful after my 3rd chemo."

"I've been getting the Neulasta OBI after chemo for Hodgkin's lymphoma for 9 treatments now (1 every two weeks). I find the side effects to be very tolerable - a little bone pain in my shoulder/clavicle area and some upper arm muscular discomfort between the shoulder and elbow. It's never been severe enough to consider taking anything, does not affect my sleep, and usually lasts 2 to 3 days. Very minor compared to what others are reporting."

"The only side effect I have dealt with is an achy jaw the day after the shot. My levels were very low and Neulasta did its job and brought my levels back to normal."

"Neulasta can cause a LOT of pain. You must take claritin or loratadine 1 day before chemo, the day of chemo, the day after chemo...I take the 24hr version. It is a big help."
