"I can’t tell you how well this product works, but I cannot consistently get it into my eyes. What a terrible dispenser. I have wasted over half the product! It’s a packaging failure. You can do better!"

"I have gotten a broken blood vessel in my eyes two or three times. I was wondering if it was from the Systane drops. I just started using them recently as my eyes were dry. Has anyone else had this side effect?"

"I had surgery for a cancerous tumor under my left eye. After it healed from plastic surgery, it became extremely dry to the point I could hardly keep my eye open. I used Thera for years and it did not work. I used SYSTANE BALANCE and I hardly ever feel like something is in my eye. Best drops I have ever used. I put them in 4 times a day."

"Cataract surgeon gave me a bottle of Systane to use before cataract surgery. I've been on it for two days and started getting blurry vision. Have you read the ingredients? Boric acid and hydrochloric acid!!"

"The drops were recommended by my eye doctor, and they're quite good. That is, if you can get them in your eyes. The bottle is hands down the worst dispenser I have ever used, half of the time resulting in these rather expensive drops missing my eye and running down my face. They REALLY need to change the bottle to make it safer and more accurate."

"Use it to clear my dry eyes and thought it's doing good. But no... I am experiencing blurred vision now. Reading all the reviews, I have proven it is from the use of this Systane Balance eye drop. So sad... instead of helping my eyes, it made it worse."

"My optometrist suggested I use Systane Ultra in the evening to try to ease my mild dry eye issues. She suggested that we do not produce tears while sleeping and these were more long-lasting than the usual eye drops used for dry eyes. I immediately noticed my eyes were drier and itchier than normal. I would not recommend these drops, have discarded them, and have informed my optometrist of my experience."

"Two years after an 'outbreak' of dry eye had come and gone, I went to the eye Dr. inquiring about LASEK, and long story short, she told me I should start and continue using eye drops because my dry eye could flare up again, etc., etc. For whatever reason, I listened to this stupid advice and started using Systane, even though I would normally think, 'Why treat it if it's not even a problem?' Well, the first day of using Systane, my dry eye symptoms all came back, and I've been dealing with full-blown dry eye, tearing like crazy, raw in the corner of my eye, and eyelashes falling out from constant moisture and itching all night. THANKS, DOC.! and Systane."

"My eyes occasionally become dry. I have used many brands of eye drops over the years. I recently purchased Refresh Tears Lubricant Eye Drops (because of a good price). As soon as I put a drop in each eye, my eyes immediately became very red and painfully sore. I have never had such an effect with other brands of eye drops, including Equate."

"For me and my doctor, Oasis Tears are the best in the market, however, they are extremely expensive. The vials are a disaster, they are difficult to close, and you lose a lot of product, which at the price they sell, is too much. This is the reason I would not recommend them. There are many products in the market that can do a similar job. Don’t waste your money as I did."

"The product works well for my dry eye, but the new nano droplet design is terrible. I keep missing my eye. The drops run down the side and all over, contaminating the drop. I wasted half the bottle because the drops did not go in my eye."

"Purchase Systane, and new bottles were half empty, and the label hides the half-filled bottle. It's very misleading. Will never buy again and will look for another brand since there are a lot of other options. No one likes to be fooled, no matter if it's effective. It's not that much better than other brands to justify getting deceived."

"The tamper-proof applicator is one of the worst applicators ever for eye drops. Not everyone drops the eye drops into the eye by tilting back the head. I pull down the lower lid and place a drop. When using this applicator, you cannot place the drop exactly where you want it to go; so it either runs down the face or misses the face altogether. The tip needs to be a lot more pointed so it is visible when turning the head to the side. I will not buy this applicator again."

"Horrible vial. You have to squeeze so hard to get the drop to finally fall. Then you miss and waste. I've had to use about 6 different drops in the last year, and this vial is by far the worst design. It causes you to waste these expensive drops."

"What is in this product that can cause me such discomfort and adversely affect my vision? Two doctors recommended this, and the result has been devastating. I’m hoping this vision problem is only temporary. Do not use."

"Ophthalmologist recommended Systane drops for my dry eyes. My eyes feel even more dry immediately after using the drops. I’ve tried for several months using different formulas, and it’s just gotten worse. I would not recommend these drops."

"I usually use Thera Tears but picked up the new Systane Balance on sale. I thought I was going crazy, but my eyelashes started falling out! I couldn’t figure out why until I switched back to Thera Tears, and they’re finally growing back. Never again!"

"I had a routine eye appointment with an optometrist yesterday (Saturday), and he recommended Systane Ultra. I used it twice and can no longer see through my glasses - everything is blurry (Sunday) 24 hours later. I'm not using it again, and I'm going to go see an ophthalmologist tomorrow. I'm worried it damaged my vision; I hope it goes back to normal."

"Good Lord. How can you market a product to cure dry eyes, which does the complete opposite? Isn't that fraud? The makers of this stuff better watch out for a class action lawsuit because this stuff is awful, and the company is guilty of false advertising. Have used for only one day, and my eyes are getting worse by the minute. They feel dry, sticky, and sore. Not the least bit moisturized! Just decided to discontinue."

"This medicine is more effective than Refresh Tears. The dispenser for this medicine is terrible. The dispenser requires extreme squeezing pressure to operate. The dispenser requires the loss of one drop for every application. The loss of one drop out of three drops amounts to wasting 1/3 of the bottle."

"Used Systane Ultra after cataract surgery with devastating consequences. Only just made the connection between my red, very painful eyes and Systane Ultra. Stopped using it today, and guess what... no pain. I have been in agony for weeks with this product."

"I was advised to use Systane Ultra gel for dry eyes. I woke up one morning and my eyes were blood red! I stopped using Systane for a few days, and I was fine. A week later, my eyes became dry during the night, so I used the Systane. Sure enough, the next morning my eyes were blood red again. In the trash is where these drops will go."

"Have used Systane Ultra for a few years and found it to be helpful for dry eyes. Since the nozzle of the dispenser has been changed to a flatter design, I find I'm wasting more than using it effectively, even though I follow the dispensing instructions. The drops don't dispense properly as they did with the longer nozzle, with the drops running down the side of the bottle and missing the eyes completely. Hopefully, this problem will be rectified by a change of design back to the original nozzle shape."

"It took me long enough to notice what the culprit was and thought I should warn others. A few years back, I started using Systane for dry eye comfort, and my left eye got extremely blurry and would not clear. It took months to clear after I stopped using the product, then I was diagnosed with cataracts and had cataract surgery. My eyesight was never so clear until I tried Systane again … guess what? My vision in the same eye got blurred, so I went to see my doctor, who told me laser surgery will clear it… fast forward, COVID hit, so six months passed and it cleared by itself after six months. Not realizing that Systane is the culprit, I used it again two months ago … guess what? Complete blurry vision in my left eye again for two months now and going … I don’t see how they haven’t been in a class action lawsuit yet for blinding people!!!!! Stay far away from this product."

"I have used Systane Ultra, and it does a fairly good job, but then I bought the two-bottle container of Systane Complete thinking it would be even better. Not so. My eyes became irritated, crusty goop on the lids after waking up in the morning. When I stopped using it, my eyes did not have these symptoms."
