Norethindrone "I have been on this medication for about a month, and I have terrible night sweats where I wake up in the middle of the night dripping in sweat, and my sheets are soaked. I've had moodiness and increased anxiety."

Norethindrone "I started taking this pill after I had my son. The doctor prescribed this pill because I breastfeed. I have been on the pill for almost a year now, and I have a period twice a month, and I'm not talking about spotting or light bleeding. I have a heavy period every time. I know everyone has different experiences, but I would not recommend this pill."

Norethindrone "I have been on Nora-Be for 2 years now. I had tried other combination pills to help with my abnormal heavy bleeding and had adverse side effects (high blood pressure, mood swings, acne, bloating). There is no estrogen in Nora-Be, so my blood pressure went back to normal once I was on it. I find that my PMS is much more stable and my complexion even cleared up on it. No issues with weight gain or hair loss. It took about 6 months for my period to stabilize, but now I have a 4-day very manageable cycle instead of 7 days of extremely heavy and clotty bleeding. Nora-Be has changed my life! Highly recommended."

Norethindrone "I have been on this pill for 2 months now (2 packets). I have had 2 periods every month, very angry, moody, no patience, and my boobs constantly hurt really bad. I will not be taking this anymore. I am on the 3rd day into the pill where I’m supposed to be bleeding, and nothing. But the first or second active pill, I will start bleeding heavily, so I am stopping. I am backwards, and I can’t deal with a period every 10-12 days. I know it varies per person, it is just not for me. Best of luck to everyone else and thanks for sharing your experiences."

Norethindrone "I've been on this Heather daily pill for one month and a half, and I'm not really liking it. I've been getting my period EVERY week for 3 days. And it's even worse that it starts on Thursdays, which means I'm on it over the weekend. I'm just going to finish the rest of this month's pills, and if it doesn't get better, I'm switching to something else."

Norethindrone "I have been on this pill for a year now. I went a while without a period, just constant spotting. Well, I can't tell if it's an extremely light period or just spotting. It's not enough blood for a tampon or pad, but a liner. I hate it because if I do want to have sex, I have to act like I have to pee right before just to make sure I'm not bleeding. I'm on my last pack, and then I'm done with it. I also was on this pill due to high blood pressure and horrible periods. I'll take my risks at not taking this anymore!"

"This pill caused horrible side effects. My mood swings were so bad I thought I was going crazy. I was angry all the time, sad, depressed, and suffered nightmares. It will lighten your periods, but it wasn't worth feeling mentally insane!"

"I, at the age of 47, started having heavy bleeding for two days of my five-day cycle. I took this medication for two days, and I am now on my seventh day of bleeding, which I'm bleeding longer and waking up sweating. I am going to stop taking it."

"I was prescribed this to help with periods, during which I had 3 weeks to 2 months of bleeding at a time. Heavy bleeding, that is. It works so well with me that my periods have stopped, and that's just fine by me."

Norethindrone "I was on Errin for two months. I'm in perimenopause, and it was recommended to control some abnormal bleeding. The first month was okay, but I basically bled all of month two, either spotting or very, very heavy. Stopped it a few days ago and still bleeding. I went to the doctor and had an exam - no other physical cause for the heavy bleeding. He agreed I should stop taking it, although he wanted me to try originally for three or four months. I don't see how - this was the worst bleeding ever. I'll take perimenopausal irregularity over this."

Norethindrone "Well, ever since I was 13, my periods were not normal, they would last for more than a week. I would get horrible side effects, such as nausea, cravings, cramps, you name it. I got extremely tired of it, and I was prescribed Nora-Be. It's been good to me. I started it while on my period, I only bled for two days! Not even bad! It was a small spot and done. I felt so relieved!!! I noticed no weight gain, and I felt great. I get no side effects from it, but if I do, which is rare, it's breast pain. I recommend this, but of course, everyone's body is different!!! P.S. I've been on it for ages."

"I was prescribed this pill after I spoke to my gyno about having irregular bleeding. I told her my periods have been lasting for over a week, on and off. So, the first week on it, I wasn’t bleeding, but after the first week, I had NONSTOP HEAVY PERIOD, back-to-back blood clots, some bigger than a quarter. I’m on my second pack, and I’m still bleeding heavily with clots and all, no change. I'm starting to feel weak due to all the nonstop bleeding. I'm just going to completely stop this stuff. I'm done spending money on tampons and pads, due to the fact that I gotta wear BOTH because it’s THAT heavy."

Norethindrone "I had a period every week for 4 months, and at first tried Tri-Nessa, and that did nothing. A friend recommended Nora-Be, and I am so glad she did. I have irregular bleeding once a month now, and it's so much better. No cramps and no pain. Love it!"

Norethindrone "Omg, where to begin. Doc had me switch from Yasmin (on for over 15 years) to Jolivette. I have been on it for 3 years (?). My symptoms have been: weight gain, inability to lose weight (very slow loss) despite 6-day workouts and calorie (low carb) control, hot flashes, night sweats, neck pain, headaches, low energy, terrible depression, insane hostile angry mood swings, and constant irritability. I went to the doctor as I thought I might be in early menopause. A battery of tests and blood work came up empty. She dismissed that Jolivette was the cause. Finally, I googled it and found countless forums of women in the same boat as me. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped the pill and most notably my moods have been so even, no irritability at all!"

"Horrible medication. Stopped after 2 weeks. Continuous bleeding. Nausea. Cramps. Fatigue. Bloating. Maybe if I tried to stick it out longer, the side effects would go away, but I just couldn’t do it. I have never felt so awful."

Norethindrone "I started taking this 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I’ve been taking it for 3 months now and am officially stopping this pill. It has made me bleed so irregularly and heavily that it’s unmanageable. It feels like I’m bleeding more so than when I am not. I’m not sure if I am experiencing other symptoms, but I definitely look like I am more bloated, so maybe that’s something I’ve experienced as well and haven’t correlated the two. My primary reason for stopping is the excessive bleeding."

"I am anemic. My doctor put me on the medication to stop my period so that I could rebuild my hemoglobin. I took 5 mg for 3 weeks. It gave me a low-grade fever, extreme vaginal dryness, and elevated ALT (liver issues). When I stopped taking the norethindrone, I developed severe cramps. I have to take Aleve daily because of the excruciating pain. I don't know what I'm going to do. The pain is unbearable. I wish I hadn't taken these pills."

"Norethindrone... OMG! I want to scream. I was given this birth control to control heavy bleeding and painful cramps due to endometriosis. This pill has caused acne, prolonged bleeding, and cramps. My cycle now lasts 15 plus days, and with the bleeding, I have cramps. Now I have low hemoglobin levels and anemia because of the loss of blood. I'm 37 and don't want kids, so now I'm looking for permanent birth control. I wanted to try the IUD, but my sister had it for 5 years, and when they took it out, it broke, and she had to have surgery. Now she's having issues with her cervix and bleeding. Smh, what are we to do!"

Norethindrone "I've been using these pills for 3 months now. I've had very heavy bleeding for so long that I welcomed a change. The first two months were awesome. My cycle was very light and lasted the normal five days. No cramping, very little bloating. This third month, my cycle came like clockwork, lasted five days, then two weeks later returned. My breasts have been very tender, and although very small, they feel heavy. I'm not giving up yet."

Norethindrone "I decided to come back and review this drug as I was on the fence as there were a lot of negative reviews. I have uterine fibroids near the end of 2018, at 40. I had a heavy period that lasted 2 months. I was put on DEPO, and my period stopped that night and for a few months; then I had more breakthrough bleeding. At the 1-year mark, my arm that I used to get the shot in started hurting. I could barely lift it and couldn't sleep on it. I didn't go back; instead, I switched to regular birth control that used to always work (Daysee). The bleeding stopped again until I had a gallbladder attack for the first time. Turns out I had gallstones. After about a year on that, I started having breakthrough bleeding again. I read that the estrogen in the birth control is responsible (among other things), so I switched to this. Almost immediately, the pain has left my gallbladder, and I feel normal again. Two weeks have passed; the breakthrough bleeding has passed. You have to take this at a precise time each day."

"I was on this medication for just under two months for fibroids. Within a few weeks, I noticed my anxiety, which is usually very manageable on Lexapro, started to creep up. I didn’t think much of it nor even connect it to this new medication. Near the end of my second month on norethindrone, my anxiety skyrocketed and became debilitating. I started Googling whether Lexapro could suddenly stop working, which it can, but then I remembered my birth control switch two months earlier and started Googling side effects of the mini pill. So many women described anxiety and depression. At this point, my anxiety was so bad (racing and irrational thoughts) I couldn’t sleep, lost my appetite, and was crying almost all day. I stopped the pill two days ago and am already feeling worlds different. If you are someone who has pre-existing anxiety, I would pay close attention when you start this medication. One other side effect I noticed was my hair and skin became greasier. Not horribly, but I did notice."

Norethindrone "I was on Errin .35 for 6 weeks and decided to stop taking it due to having my period for all but 3 weeks straight. Only had small breaks in between, like a day here or there, and just when I thought it was done, it started again. It also made me very tired to the point I would fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon if I wasn't actively doing something. I started it mainly because I am done having children and my periods were terrible because of my fibromyalgia. The cons of taking this far outweigh the pros for me. I would rather just feel like crap for a couple of days a month than deal with periods lasting weeks."

Norethindrone "Aygestin immediately stopped my 3-month-long period, and I have not had any while on it. It's been great with manageable side effects like hot flashes and increased hunger. I have had a weird thing happen twice while on it. I get super severe cramping with a little spotting; it usually happens at night, and ibuprofen/Tylenol does not help. It goes away after a few days though."

"I recently started taking norethindrone birth control because I was having 2-week-long periods, so at first it was working great. I was about four days in and stopped bleeding completely. A week later, I started spotting, and now I haven’t been off my period since. It really has caused me problems emotionally. I would never in 1 million years thought at 22 I would need to get a hysterectomy or partial hysterectomy just to get my body back on track. I’m sad all the time because I don’t feel myself anymore like how I did before these problems arose."

Norethindrone "I've been taking Errin for over a year now, and I stopped having a period in March. I stopped the pill until May 18th because I was waiting for a period. I then continued my pill, as my gyno said it can be actually normal to have no period at all. So I got back on them in May. In August, I had a 9-day nightmare bloodbath period. It's now November, and I haven't had one since. Only small amounts of brown. 16 negative pregnancy tests. And I'm 2 months late. Now I'm feeling movement and pressure and thumping. I'm going crazy, this pill makes you actually feel pregnant, but you don't get pregnant."
