Moxifloxacin "Avelox rocks. I had a bacterial infection and did not realize it until I was in urgent care after 8 days of misery. I went in thinking I had a double ear infection but was diagnosed with a bacterial infection. I am allergic to Amoxicillin, so my doctor gave me Avelox. I don't like it at all because of its side effects, but it works. After one day on it, I felt like a million bucks. However, my skin itches a wee bit, I'm dizzy, feel anxious, and paranoid. I have almost every side effect. I made the mistake of taking it on an empty stomach and heading to my daughter's school to pick her up. Just be careful. Learn how your body reacts to it."

Moxifloxacin "Had a very resistant infection and was prescribed this medication. Went into anaphylactic shock after it started digesting. Cold and hot sweats, drooling, splotchy skin color, swelling of throat, loss of feeling in left side of my body for 2 days and brief loss of consciousness until ambulance arrived. Just didn't work well with my body."

Moxifloxacin "This past Wednesday, my right nostril was a little sore, figured I was a little overly aggressive with the allergy early morning blowing. By Friday, 3:30 a.m., I woke up to stabbing pain all on the right side of my face! Swollen, and the tissue was HARD, nasal passage (where the infection started) was 3/4 closed! Today is day 4, my face is pliable again, still a little stiff close to my right nostril, but my lips, cheeks, and eyes feel great, nostril very slightly tender in comparison to Wednesday. This Avelox works, only problem I've had is dry mouth (drinking plenty of water) and a little lightheaded/dizzy, but I'm not driving, so that's okay!"

"An ENT prescribed me Moxiget 400 mg (Moxifloxacin) after I got a sore throat and fever. This medicine started giving me stomach cramps the moment I took the very first tablet. It also caused severe headaches, dizziness, gas formation, nausea, and loss of appetite. Although my mother and I only took it for 5 days, it caused these similar reactions in both of us. This is the most pathetic medicine ever."

"Moxifloxacin had me in the emergency room. It had me feeling like I was going to collapse. I ended up having 12 side effects when it was all said and done. This pill made me worse. The medication went straight in the toilet."

"Had a flu and then resulting bronchitis, laryngitis, and 2 ear infections. Was a total mess. Doc gave me these pills, and felt a little better the next day, and it's day 3 and improving lots. I did have some rapid heart rate (not too serious) and lack of sleep/appetite. Then again, that might be from the flu on the tail end. So happy I am feeling better."

Moxifloxacin "I'm on day 8 of this medicine, and other than experiencing mild side effects, I find that my sinuses are still clogged, my ear canals are swollen, and I have swelling of the throat, which makes me look like I have an extremely large double chin or a balloon under the skin. My sinuses are still experiencing severe pain and pressure."

"Today will be my 5th moxifloxacin pill of 10 on this course of medication. I have an infection in my intestines and tried other antibiotics that caused serious side effects, so after a CT scan, I was given moxifloxacin. First dose, very dizzy, the room was spinning, my legs hurt so bad. Did much better after the 2nd dose. Today, I can say side effects are gone. I feel good, better than I have in a long time, so I give this medication a thumbs up, I do suggest taking it at night."

"Did not feel positive effects until overnight after the 4th dose of moxifloxacin (taken 7 pm each night). Tossed and turned all night as if fighting the flu or fever, but the next morning could finally tell that it was slowly starting to work (on a kidney infection). This was my second time using it, so I was worried about resistance, and it is a relief that it is again working."

"Just completed a 10-day course. First two days, minor improvement in breathing, but then relapse. I feel just as bad, plus now I'm tired all the time. Don't know if it is from the medication or the fact I have asthma and I'm not getting 100% oxygen to my brain. This is my second round of antibiotics, the first was doxycycline for 5 days. I have been living with this for 9 1/2 weeks. My coughing is really bad and congested. I frequently cough up phlegm. Also have bad post-nasal drip."

"After reading the reviews, I was so scared to take this medication. I was prescribed a 7-day regimen after taking doxy for 7 days for a mycoplasma genitalium infection. I finished the medication, and it didn't really have any side effects. I took it with a little yogurt just to make sure it wouldn't cause stomach issues. I was also careful since my doctor told me it could cause tendon issues. It cleared up the infection, so I can't complain. I'd take it again if I needed to. So if you've been prescribed this medication, don't read all these reviews and be scared because everybody reacts differently, so you may not have any issues."

"I was prescribed this medication plus Cipro for a mild case of diverticulitis. Both are very heavy-duty drugs. After my third dose, I had a headache, nausea, I vomited, I was dizzy, and I couldn't hold down so much as a bite of toast, though I was supposed to start eating something after 24 hours of a liquid diet. The side effects of this medication are far worse than the condition for which I was being treated. Always question when you are being prescribed two powerful antibiotics."

Moxifloxacin "I am on my 4th day of Avelox and going to try and stick it out despite the side effects. I was on another antibiotic for (Amoxicillin) diverticulitis last week, and it caused such bad diarrhea that I had to be switched to this. The 1st day I took it in the middle of the day. I had horrible nausea and dizziness, plus extremely fatigued. After that, I switched the time to after dinner before bed, and the side effects are easier to manage through the night. The only other problem is the extreme tiredness during the day. It seems to be clearing the diverticulitis, so I am going to finish the course."

"Absolutely, it works wonderfully. I was infected with COVID-19, with the symptoms of fever, cough, vomiting, and breathing problems. I used many antibiotics, but with no response, then the doctor prescribed me moxifloxacin. Only 2 doses, and I gained better results in chest infection and breathing problems, and after two days, I was healthy."

"Day 4 of this med. Had abscess on butt drained last Wednesday out of province, w/o a follow-up prescription for antibiotics. Friday was in great pain and visited my family doctor who prescribed this med 400 mg/10 days. Pain has subsided, but the wound is still draining and slightly swollen. None of the side effects mentioned by many are present for me, so far, but I do find the healing to be rather slow. Will see doctor on day 6...if still draining then, I hope he will know why and make any necessary changes required! God bless you all!"

"Was given Avelox due to being allergic to penicillin, although the doctors have no idea what is causing my fever. Negative for strep, flu, white blood count is normal. I stopped taking this after my 2nd trip to the clinic, and the side effects that presented, I felt worse after taking this medication."

"Day one of this medication was okay. Day two of this medication, after four hours of taking it, I started feeling like I wasn't getting enough oxygen in my head, then followed by a rapid heartbeat, which ranged between 104 and 115. But I feel a slight change in my breathing. Before the third dose, I am going to call the doctor and alert him of these effects."

"I feel ill constantly on this med. I am confused, and my heart is pumping like crazy. The best thing is, after 4 days, there is no improvement of my ears. I just had a nurse check my ears, and it is still red."

"You definitely feel the side effects much more than other antibiotics, but it works. I did not feel my kidney infection was resolved until Day 11 on Moxi, but thankfully it worked!"
