"My doctor prescribed this product to help post-nasal drip, which was affecting my ears. After the first couple of days of using this product, I felt dizziness, really bad anxiety, and flu-like symptoms. I was so tired I could barely climb up the stairs. I also felt like it brought on symptoms similar to a bladder infection. I saw a doctor to test for a bladder infection, and she said it’s a possible side effect of this medication. I’ve been off this product for a week now, and the anxiety, racing heart, and dizziness are better but still lingering."

"I was prescribed mometasone for chronic sinusitis. I used it on and off for a few months but felt it was making my headaches worse and causing anxiety. Didn’t seem to ease the original problem. Original sinus headaches were less severe than headaches after taking medication. Encouraged to continue by GP and that my headaches would improve. Instead, the anxiety increased with heart palpitations. Burning feeling in throat and tightness. The worst side effect has been recent insomnia. Awake almost all night. Mind anxious. Feeling the need to wee throughout the night. After several nights of this, I have stopped taking it. Will not take it again. Thanks to others for sharing their experience as I thought I was becoming mentally unwell. Why aren’t GPs aware of this?"

"This gave me such bad anxiety. To the point I was shaking with pressure in my eyes and head, and my arms went numb and achy. Almost called 999. Will be calling my doctor tomorrow to change the prescription. Awful."

Mometasone nasal "The Nasonex spray dispenser says 65 sprays. I've been spraying only twice in each nostril per day and have had it for 2 weeks, and it ran out, so only 56 sprays. I have no issue with the medicine because it works, it's just the shortchanging of 9-10 sprays to save money on their end, but at a cost to the customer."

"Two daily sprays in each nostril for severe congestion (unable to breathe out of nose). Works great for this issue, it's amazing how good it feels to not breathe like a dog anymore, but does have side effects. The worst being heart palpitations and my tolerance for caffeine/stimulants. Before taking this drug, I was able to drink soda/fizzy drinks with no problem, but now must monitor these carefully. Drank too much before I knew and had extremely strong palpitations that lasted over 4 hours. If I feel them now, they will settle quickly if I start moving and burning some energy. Occasionally (once every 3 months roughly), I will go through a 3-4 day period of having sore sinuses, and bending down is uncomfortable thanks to the pressure, didn't ever have this before. Last noticeable side effect is the odd spell (two 2-day periods) of vertigo, which I have never experienced before until taking mometasone, which would make my head spin randomly while standing and even while laying down."

"I tried this on and off for allergies in summer and sinus problems in winter. It kind of works in summer for allergies, but in winter where my nose is not running but swollen and blocking, probably cause of dry air, it makes everything worse. I feel more dry, more ear pain, more headache, and it makes my throat ache too. I also have a suspicion that it makes health conditions worse if there is a virus like the common cold involved, as every time I take mometasone I start to have yellow thick mucus in the morning. This is especially worrying with the corona pandemic at the moment, so I would be careful. The best in winter is saltwater spray and azelastine if the nose is itching, and I use Nasic when I have a cold. But many times I don't know if I have a cold, or an irritated nose from dry air, or an allergic reaction to dust. It is a nightmare since 20 years my nose gets worse blocking and drying, and headaches get worse. I feel like all these sprays can't be good for the nose, especially when they contain preservatives like mometasone does."

"Prescribed this for a month, two sprays in each nostril once a day. I could not sleep at night after two weeks, even though I was very tired. Towards the end, I was getting to sleep around 3:30 a.m. I stopped taking it after 3 weeks and instantly slept fine again. It did stop my itchy ears, but not the earache."

"Worked well to suppress excess mucus symptoms. The doctor prescribed it for two weeks. I stopped after 4 days thanks to these reviews and other information I had a chance to check into. I was happy with suppressed symptoms but decided to shorten the duration to avoid negative side effects."

"I used this product as I've been having intense nose pain, and the spray has done absolutely nothing. Thankfully, I haven't had any side effects, but I still have unbearable nose pain. I found the spray ineffective and a waste of time."

"I've had sinusitis for at least 10 years now. Had turbinate reduction in both nostrils as they were nearly always blocked, especially while sleeping. It helped 25% in one and perhaps 50% in the other. After complaining again to ENT, he put me on the spray. It helped, but I noticed I was getting headaches if I took too much. Also, I have had 3 ear infections in one ear at least once a year where I need drops to clear. Recently, I went on a road trip out of province and forgot my spray. Didn't bother to get any, so I went without. Noticed my nose got clogged again, but no headaches for 3 weeks. When I came back, I loaded up on my spray and got an instant migraine that lasted the day. I will try to wean myself off this stuff and perhaps use a saline spray. I'm 67, male."

Mometasone nasal "The product works well. The problem is the packaging. Why don't manufacturers stop using so much unnecessary packaging for their products when disposal is such a growing problem? Nasonex Allergy comes in a lovely plastic container that does not require a huge cardboard box, more than twice the size of the container. There is now a large space just for directions. It's about time these manufacturers started getting a little innovative with their packaging and reduced the need for unwanted excessive packaging that continues to produce problems for landfill."

Mometasone nasal "First of all, it didn't really help me, I still suffered as much after I used it a few times for a sinusitis that was about to start. Second, it caused a huge cold sore to burst on my lip. I only had a cold sore once before (the first time I was infected), so I don't have much doubt that Nasonex is what caused it."

Mometasone nasal "I have been using Nasonex for years with no problems or side effects. I suffer from bad allergies and sinus infections, and with the help of Sudafed or Sinutab and Nasonex, along with some Allegra, I am good to go. Whenever I feel any discomfort during allergy season, these products help, and I don't see any side effects."
