For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was diagnosed with BV and took this medicine perfectly for 5 days. After the first day, I got severe, crippling anxiety attacks, which are very uncommon for me. I also had an upset stomach, cramps, and diarrhea for a week. The symptoms of BV never cleared up. I started my period after day 5 of medicine, and after that, I was back to square one. It did not work at all for any of the symptoms, except the smell of the discharge was less bad, so that's why I gave it a two instead of a one. Still trying to find a medicine that helps me! This is so frustrating."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have been having BV problems for a couple of years after I had my babe. Took this for the first time this week. Looks like it helped with BV, but caused some pretty bad symptoms: headache, stomachache, nervousness, some discharge with blood, cramping, insomnia, and intestinal issues. Hopefully it does the job!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took one dose nightly for five days. I’ve also been taking a vaginal probiotic. On day 3, I experienced the most horrible anxiety I’ve ever felt. I was SO anxious. All five nights, I had insomnia. I was sweating like crazy the whole five days, SOAKING through shirts. Again, this could be due to increased anxiety? Other than anxiety, no sleep, and lots of sweat, I had the usual clumpy discharge. It is four days post-treatment, and I feel normal. I finally started sleeping normally two days post-treatment, and I am no longer sweating or anxious. I am still experiencing clumps of discharge only when I use the bathroom, no more discharge otherwise! This is my second treatment in one year, almost to the date. My BV did come back when I started having unprotected sex with someone I now deem to not be the most hygienic, this was 8 months later. Ladies, a lot of research points to high saturated fat diets. I have since cut out cheese and dairy and limit my sugar."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I wanted to share my experiences using MetroGel for BV. I’ve had several BV cases in the last year, and my doctor always prescribed metronidazole vaginal route for 5 days. Each time I take this medication, I became deeply depressed and anxious during the entire course of treatment, as well as physically sick. Once I finish the treatment, I start feeling myself again about 2 weeks later. There have also been a few times where the treatment was unsuccessful, and I had to be retreated a few weeks later. So I do not recommend. Ask for an alternative medication for BV, such as clindamycin."

"I had such a bad infection for 4+ months. It was painful, embarrassing, and was inhibiting me. I had to obsess over hygiene, and it was giving me such bad anxiety. I used this for 10 days internally as my doctor prescribed, and it was pretty hard on me. I felt like rubbish before bed, I lost some weight from lack of appetite, generally feeling unwell. That said, it worked. It’s been two days since my last dose, and I do not have the symptoms I had prior to taking it. I hope they don’t come back. I do not plan to be sexually active for a little while and continue taking probiotics, though."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have had to use this gel 2 or 3 times over the last few years. I’ve recently switched sexual partners and needed it again. I feel like BV is fairly normal for me, honestly, I don’t smell or have any issues when I have BV. I will say I just finished an antibiotic for 2 STIs and immediately had to start the gel because of BV and slight yeast (which I never even really noticed). I’m on day 5, and I have definitely been depressed, and my anxiety has been on edge this entire week! My stomach is cramping so bad, and I’ve barely eaten. I’ve had a slight headache. I did take a yeast pill as well, I believe on day 1 or 2 of the gel. I just had sex 2 or 3 days ago and it was fine, but this time it was nasty and kind of gross honestly. Not only was the discharge thick, chunky, and white all over my husband, but it was green and yellowish also, and clumpy. If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was like diarrhea-colored (ew)."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So I feel like I always either have BV or a yeast infection. I went to the gyno for severe itching and was given an oral dose for a yeast infection. That went fine. My results came back, and I also had BV, so I started the 5-day vaginal metronidazole gel. I hate it. The first couple of days, I felt weak and dizzy. I’m on the last night, thank goodness. These past three days, including right now, I’ll get a terrible headache in the evenings. I never get headaches. Super weird. Really uncomfortable. Also very anxious and irritable. Hope this all goes away after tomorrow. And I pray I don’t get a yeast infection. Literally just took medication for one."
