For Constipation, Drug Induced "Doctor gave me this shot to see if it would work for me. I suffer from chronic constipation, and painful bowel movements often causing rectal and anal tearing. It took over 24 hours for it to work for me but it was well worth the wait. I never had such a massive NORMAL bowel movement in my life and I went two times! It was wonderful. Sorry for details but I can't have bowel motion unless I overdose on a tonne of laxatives. I am now getting a prescription for it and I can't wait."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I have been constipated for longer than I realized. I was managing but then 6 years ago my constipation controled my life. I’d be backed up for 3 weeks. I tried everything on the market. Relistor saved my life. I go every day now. Amazing."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "This medication is super expensive and does not even work. I’m unsure how it even got approved for OIC. At the time last year, Relistor was the only drug my insurance would pay for so I tried it. I have been on opiates for over 10 years, first in pain management and now Subutex for recovery. Even at the highest dose it did nothing and I still was only going once a week. On my new insurance I now take Linzess which works a bit better but I have to drink a cap full of Miralax as well. It also makes me super nauseous. Wish they could make a drug for this with less side effects."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "I suffer from chronic pain and have been on and off opioid therapy for much of my adult life. Because I suffer from chronic pelvic pain, constipation is extremely painful for me. Unfortunately natural and/or gentle laxatives were not strong enough for me, and strong laxatives were too hard on my system, so nothing was working for me until now. I have just started the treatments so I am just taking a little less than the 4 ml dose, twice a week. So far, each time I have had my shot, I have had a %u2018normal%u2019 bowel movement within one hour. Overall if you are struggling with constipation as a result of pain medications, this very well could be the solution for you. It has been for me."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "I've been on hydromorphone 2 mg (Q 4 H), oxycodone/APAP 10/325 mg (Q 4-6 H), and OxyContin 40 mg daily for an accidental amputation. After landing myself in the hospital for diabetes related illnesses, my doctors became concerned about me not having a bowel movement. They used Relistor as a last resort, and although it didn't work immediately, it worked the next day. I've been going nonstop since!"

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I've tried all the meds made for opioid-induced constipation. I've had the problem for 10 years. I tried every prescription drug. I went to the E.R. once and they gave me a Relistor injection. Now that it's available in tablet format. The quality of my life has improved. I urge anyone to try this."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "Before Relistor/or Movantik., anyone in this world experience trying to pass a friggin baseball?? Literally true.. I was on a miracle drug called Movantik for 1 month $435.00!!! And they are pills,1 pill on empty stomach with a bottle of water say 8 am, on pot within 30 minutes, oh what a relief it is!! My insurance wouldn't cover it :( because its not on their formulary list, but will cover Relistor for $2000.00.. but if this works like Movantik it's my miracle drug..I'm just scared of the side effects from Relistor, I had slight side effects with Movantik. Such as withdraw symptoms, not everyday , so wish me luck, my 1st dose is tomorrow morning. 7/14/17"

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I couldn’t believe how expensive this medicine was, so I figured it must be worth the bang. I have only been on pain meds a short while from a car accident. I have been taking this medicine for a few days now, and it’s done absolutely nothing. It certainly wasn’t worth $700. I am very surprised. I thought it would be a godsend. I finally went back to OTC medicine to help me. I won’t be buying another prescription of this."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "My father is 89 and has suffered from dug induced constipation for years as a result of his pain management drugs. His first injection of Relistor yielded a substantial bowel movement in less than ten minutes. Since this initial treatment he has experienced increased normal movements on a regular basis. There have been no adverse reactions to this medication."

For Constipation, Chronic "I'm going on 3rd month of usage, absolutely helps with constipation. I have had every test possible and they show no major problems . Gut still hurts every day. There's definitely a physical problem with digestive tract. Cancer was ruled out, no heart problem, yet in so much pain and hard to pass stool without Relistor. Any Drs out there can give me any recommendations as what to do next.I'm desperate Thank to all of you"

For Constipation, Drug Induced "This is the best medicine available for drug induced constipation, there is no doubt in my experience. My one concern is that it does involve some urinary retention, certainly when I was given the maximum dose of 12mg. The lower dose of 8mg caused less urinary retention but I am only using Relistor once a week until we assess how much retention it is causing, by ultrasound. The manufacturer is still saying urinary retention is not a side effect. I note the comment of urinary retention here. This could be a serious problem for those of us with underlying disease that involves urinary retention, such as ALD or some forms of MS, for example. Relistor is a great help otherwise."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I have been experiencing OIC and have been using every otc and natural remedy available. The issue has been ongoing for several months. I took my first Relistor injection 5 hours ago without success.I added some suppositories, magnesium citrate and a fleet enema and expelled some gas and a few pellets of poop. Why have I not experienced a bowel motion and What can I expect with another injection tomorrow? This problem is totally incapacitating."

For Constipation, Chronic "I have had chronic constipation due to taking methadone for severe nerve damage and my nerves now not working in my colon, and stomach properly. I have been on opioid for over 26 years. From reading some of these reviews I wonder if some of you may have similar issues and that may be why many meds may or may not work for you. You may want to check with your doctor about the possibilities. OIC is the first issue thought of but in some cases there may be more to it, so I have learned. I'm hoping this info can at least help someone. I have taken my first dose today of three 150MG tabs 30 min before eating first thing in the AM. I will be starting out by taking this dose for 3 days in a row. I am hopeful because Movantik worked well more then not however it was always violent clearing out of my system and the withdrawal side effects were unbearable for me so I am a bit fearful of these side effects from Relistor. I will be back to share how or if this med works for me enough."

For Constipation, Chronic "I am prescribes relistor shots once a day for opiate caused constipation. I realize I'm supposed to take all meds as prescribed, but this is the only med I take that I take for it to work the best. I found taking it every day only lessons the effects of the drug, thus the benefits as well. What helps a great deal is if when I wake I drink a cup or 2 of some form of hot drink be it coffee or hot water lemon & honey, which is what I use. Then wait like 5mins and do your shot. When I went from every day use which within a month was basically totally ineffective, to using it 3x a week with the hot drink before I am a totally new person who can actually get out and live my life. I had no idea how much of life was being stolen away from me until I got a taste of it back! Oh, I also drink the hot liquid on the off days. Give it a couple weeks to start regulating. Enjoying it! I hope others out there find this helpful. It's been a life saver for me."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I was given samples of Movantic and Symproic, both of which caused withdrawal of a level 6 on a scale of 1-10. Finally my insurance after 2 denials for Symproic stated a list of meds I had to try 1st, incl Amatiza, Lactulose, Linzess, Miralax, Senna, and at the bottom was Relistor. I had used all the above for years with no effect. Injured in a patient lift in 2003 I have 8 herniated discs, torn rotators, spinal stenosis, ect... I tried relistor 3 giant pills at 1 time. Researching I found take it 30 min before food or as I did initially, 6 hours after last food and last Oxycodone 15mg. Now I do as recommended, get up, no oxy (unless as usual I can't move from pain and I take 1/2 a 15mg). I take my 3 relistor 45 minutes before food. 2hrs later I'm on the toilet and I have less withdrawal than Symproic or Movantic. I thank my GI MD for pursuing this with verifications from my PCP as to previous meds. I give Relistor tabs 9/10 due to size."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "I've been on a variety of pain meds since 2006 from a 92# treelimb falling on me and had become quite impact constipated because of them. After yrs of trying many many different kinds of laxatives & eating plenty of fruits my Dr finally asked me today(while refilling my medtronics morphine pump) if I had ever tried this injection. He gave me a sample & told me to be close to a toilet so I just now gave myself the injection, now that I'm home. So far the only thing I'm feeling is activity in my stomach as if things will be happening soon...no bad cramps, headache, sweats...just motion in my stomach. It started almost immediately & now 1/2 an hour has passed and I am still waiting.. Will keep you posted..."

For Constipation, Drug Induced "Constipation due to opiates has been extremely bad for me. Along with Relistor I'm still taking laxatives and suppositories. I'm on my second month with one shot every other day and only twice did I not have to use a suppository. Wondering if I have something else going on."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "With the first dose of resistor I had a moderate bowel movement with some straining. Later that day, I had severe nausea, stomach pain, and intense forceful vomiting. I was so dizzy that I could not stand up. These symptoms lasted for a couple of hours. The side effects were bad enough that I will not take another dose."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "So I took a shot of Relistor and I've been backed up for over a month . I could feel it helping out but it takes some time so I gave it 24 hours and then I went to get a colon irrigation and let me tell you it was almost painless. I say it works. No adverse effects and I finally felt like things were working again because before it felt like everything was closing down whenever I tried to poop. I feel like a new man . Get some help guys try an enema after a while if relistor doesn't work. Watering the dry stool will make it almost painless. Goodluck:)"

For Constipation, Drug Induced "I've had mixed results with this. Been on 180mg of Oxy IR and 75mcg Fentanyl for YEARS. When my doc increased my Fentanyl to every 48 hours, all my plumbing STOPPED. I NEVER had any problems, ever! I fought with the constipation, not going for 6 weeks+ sometimes. I don't know what hurts worse...? Anyway, the Relistor works here and there. I don't have insurance and at $75 a 12mg injection, I can't afford not to go!!! I just gave myself a 12mg shot yesterday, and another today. 24 hrs apart. Nothing. I haven't gone in 3 weeks now. This is not good. The laxative route does nothing as well. I'm frustrated... Any suggestions?"

For Constipation, Drug Induced "I've been going on and off opiates for around 8 years since my chronic pain began. I would go off the medicines to get relief from the horrible constipation they caused. A few years ago I discovered that I was constipated even when I would go off the medicines, so I must have messed something up by using laxatives for so long. I tried the subcutaneous Relistor that I had been desperately waiting for for years, and unfortunately it didn't help."

For Opioid-Induced Constipation "I've just started taking this medication so I can't say about the longevity, whether it'll always work the same, etc. BUT so far it works great. I take 3 of the 150 mg tablets and in about 2 hours I have a bowel movement. I've been on morphine and dilaudid for about 12 years and I've always had issues with painful constipation. The OTC laxatives usually cause so much pain I'd avoid them, only using miralax every now and then. I really like the relistor because the stomach cramps are minimal compared to laxatives. The poops were still kind of hard but maybe I just have to get the hard ones out before they start forming softer. I wish more came out but maybe if I take it longer it will get better."
