Methyl salicylate topical "Recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Suffering from terrible back, hip, and side pain. Bought these thinking they are worth a try. I am so happy I did. My pain eased enough to sleep, and I still feel the effects a couple of days later. I've only used one at a time, but it's enough for me. I find them awkward to put on my back, but my husband helps. I take my time and do it carefully, if it folds over, I just slowly peel it apart. They stick well, no wrinkling or falling off. They smell amazing!"

Methyl salicylate topical "Personally, I used these Salonpas Pain Patches several times, and twice I was having terrible pain. Neither time did they work. They are a waste of time and money. They do not work, and this is from my very own personal experience. Thank you."

Methyl salicylate topical "I used Salonpas patches for muscle pain. I did not receive any relief due to the patches not sticking to the skin. I washed and dried the skin thoroughly. I remember Salonpas patches worked a few years ago and stayed stuck until they were taken off and they relieved the pain. Now, maybe the patch stays stuck on the skin approximately 15 minutes and rolls off. No pain relief at all. Waste of time and money."

Methyl salicylate topical "I have a 37° curve in my spine, and when my lidocaine patches were no longer covered, I reached for Salonpas. I wore them as directed and received 2nd degree chemical burns on my back. This product should NOT be on the shelves!"

Methyl salicylate topical "There were no negative side effects. I have used it for several years. However, now I'm unable to buy it anywhere. Please help, I really use this instead of taking pills. I tried this several years ago. I think it cost like $5-6, but I purchased it at Eckerd's, now CVS, on clearance for $1.50."

Methyl salicylate topical "I wish I could tell you if it works, but after spending 13 bucks on a package, I threw one on my shoulder, and within 5 minutes max, it became all bunched up, then fell off. Waste of money, will never use another product that they make."

Methyl salicylate topical "Salonpas Pain Patch is hard to apply when you live alone and the pain is on your back. It was a struggle to keep it from folding over on itself and next to impossible to get it in the right place. It is sort of on the area now, wrinkled, and I am waiting for something to happen. I probably will return to Voltaren."

Methyl salicylate topical "Never buy this again. Salonpas Lidocaine patch never touched my pain. I couldn't tell I had it on. Couldn't feel the medicine doing anything. $10 for the box. Now I'm stuck with my pain and patches that don't work."

Methyl salicylate topical "Surprised by some of the adverse comments regarding this product. I find instant relief and long-lasting relief when I use them for shoulder and neck pain. And I can now get a good night's sleep with their use. And they are really simple to apply. Good product."

Methyl salicylate topical "I've used Salonpas Patch for muscle pain for a few years. They definitely help the pain every time. Yes, they do have a tendency to stick to themselves, which is awkward. But it is possible to keep them usable. I just have to pay attention and don't rush. I wipe the area with a cloth wetted with alcohol. They always stay for me then. I'm having back spasms now, and a prescription muscle relaxer hasn't touched the pain. These took it away. Well worth the effort."

"I was having some muscle pain in my legs, and so my husband put some of the rub on my leg, and as soon as he started rubbing it in, I reeked of pain, and it felt like someone had a torch to me! Now I look like I have had one leg in the sun for hours with an oil on it. I cannot put pants on it or anything over it because it is a bad burn."

Methyl salicylate topical "I bought the 105 mg/31.5 medicated plaster. After reading mixed reviews, I decided to take a chance as in so much pain. Had neck and shoulder pain for a couple of years. The plaster stuck well to clean, dry skin, and after the second day, I could feel a difference. It says not to wear after 3 days, however, when you open a pack of 5, you need to use them, so I did, and I think they are really worth buying. I will definitely keep them in the house to use. I also use a hot water bottle directly on the pain, which gives some comfort. Hope this helps."

Methyl salicylate topical "Be careful overusing. It will feel like you are burning. It does very little if you are feeling muscle that is actually caused by a pinched nerve. If you have nerve pain and not inflammation... you need an opioid. All OTC meds treat inflammation and not nerve pain."

Methyl salicylate topical "I used 2 of the Salonpas with lidocaine patches for muscle pain in my shoulder and neck area. Started getting a rash after the second application. The rash is in the shape of the patch, very itchy and bumpy, and looks like it could blister."

Methyl salicylate topical "Purchased the Salonpas Pain Relieving Gel-Patch HOT for muscle pain in my shoulder at the recommendation of a pharmacist. The box I purchased had an expiration date of 10-2019, however, not one of the first three patches I used created any heat whatsoever. Pathetic product. Threw the remaining three patches in the trash and went back to TheraMax heat patches, which are excellent."

Methyl salicylate topical "I’ve been using Salonpas for a long time now, and this is the only time that I experienced a side effect. The skin where I placed the patch leaves a hive or a big whole rash, and it is so itchy and uncomfortable."

"I don't like to take pills. I find max strength methyl salicylate 30% w/w better for muscle pains, even rubbing some on my stomach if I've worked out my abs too much. Bed sores? Everything. For a headache, I drink a glass of water and have a bit of sugar. It always works/helps me."

Methyl salicylate topical "I have tried all types of pain relief. Finally, I found Salonpas gel on the shelf at Walgreens. I'm a nurse, and the long hours are taking a toll on my back and hips. I must say it works wonders. It's worth the odor, which goes away after a while. I have shared the Salonpas gel with 5 of my friends and co-workers. They all love it. Unfortunately, the price has increased since I started using it. Anyway, can I get coupons? Greatly recommended. Even better than steroid injections and pain pills."

"I recently tried Ultra Strength Bengay and found it to be a poor quality, worthless, useless rip-off of a product that did nothing. I might as well have used water. It did not heat up, and I could not even tell that I had applied it, although I know, of course, that I did."

Methyl salicylate topical "I have a rotator cuff that has been repaired and is trashed again. No hope of fixing it now. I also am on Xarelto for blood clots, and taking NSAIDs makes me bleed in bad places. I have been using these for a few months now with pretty good results. Not great results, but they do seem to allow me to sleep. I find that if you wipe the area with alcohol to remove skin oils prior to application, they stick pretty well. They are okay for true muscle pain, but not bony or cartilaginous structures. Also, yes, you have to rotate application sites because they will cause a chemical burn in about three days."

Methyl salicylate topical "These do not provide a 'miracle cure' (nor did I expect them to), but they have definitely helped with my husband's stiff neck and shoulder pain. I have been applying them to his neck and shoulders in the afternoon; then he takes a nap with a supportive pillow and feels much better when he awakens. I have not had the opportunity to try other brands/products, but I can say that these do work and are not a waste of money. I would (and probably will) buy them again."

Methyl salicylate topical "I hurt my lower back. I tried Salonpas, and it worked great. I was having a lot of lower back pain and was unable to sleep. Since using, I find if you can find the point of the most painful area and apply it, it works great, I sleep like a baby. Also, the price isn't bad anymore and is inexpensive at Dollar General. I give the patches 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐."

Methyl salicylate topical "This was a godsend for shoulder and sciatic pain. My mom had pain, it helped her. My husband had degenerative joint disease and sciatic pain, this helped relieve where other topicals didn't touch it. You could see his body rippled with pain just standing or sitting. But Banalg helped. If it affected children, why not make it a prescription instead of taking it away? My husband had to resort to Rx pain pills and became addicted because the pain was so great. My mom was a CNA and used it in the nursing home for years. Other topicals mentioned do not help in the same manner. Tried them all. One can overdo anything, balance is key. If someone would use it according to directions, it shouldn't be a problem, but people want quick fixes and abuse the medication, and that causes issues...and this can be with anything. Wish I had it again, especially at my age."

Methyl salicylate topical "I had very severe pain from a pulled, overworked leg muscle, above and below my knee. Tried to get an appointment with my acupuncturist, and my friend recommended I try the patches until then. They were exceptional in helping to alleviate my severe pain! I have read you should only use three patches, but my box illustration shows four on a person's body, and this has worked great. The range of motion in my leg is getting better every day. I am a very happy customer!"

Methyl salicylate topical "These patches don't stay on at all. They are a waste of money. I used to buy the Dollar General brand before, and they stayed on forever, but Dollar General no longer carries what I used to buy, so I tried Salonpas patch, which was a waste of money."
