For Osteoarthritis: “I took one pill in the afternoon, and woke up the next morning with my whole face swollen. My doctor told me to take Benedryl, which I did for 24 hours. It's been 4 days, and the swelling is almost gone. I've been feeling funky all week. I don't recommend anyone take this. Ever.”

For Rheumatoid Arthritis: “Been taking for going on 2 months. Started out on 7.5mg and primary care Doctor increased to 15mg. Does not do anything for me. Still have swelling in hands, feet and wrist. Still in pain, Aleve works better than Mobic for me. Can't get in to see a rheumatologist till May. There has to be something out there better than Mobic.”

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis: “I was hit by a car over 10 years ago and have severe back pain because of it. I kept being prescribed opioids for the pain, but I can’t live like that so my doctor prescribed Mobic since I was taking to many ibuprofen a day and it obviously started upsetting in my kidneys. First, he gave me 7.5mg per day, but that wasn’t nearly enough, so he upped me to 2 a day. It makes me feel good, better than anything else I’ve ever taken for my back pain. However, if it only lasts an hour or two. If I wanted to be without unbearable pain all day I’d have to take more of them. But 2 works for now and it is wonderful!”

For Osteoarthritis: “Meloxicam is wonderful. Relieves pain. Decided to quit taking Meloxicam because I am diabetic. I have been taking Meloxicam for several years. Getting older and do not want to so many takes medicines. Osteoarthritis pain back within ten days. Terrible pain. But it is time to scale back on medications.”

For Rheumatoid Arthritis: “Taking meloxicam is like trying to hide a sink full of dirty dishes with a dish towel. Very ineffective and no one is fooled.”

Severe neck & back pain · Taken for 2 to 5 years February 28, 2018

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis: “I found that mobic 15mg is the only medication that takes away my pain and it does it within an hour! Caution: I didn’t know it was an NSAID and also took another NSAID - Aleve (naproxen) with it. My entire body was bruised and I couldn’t figure out why at first. I’m lucky I made it through. I only take it as needed when the pain is unbearable.”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “Was put on this med for inflammation in my leg and arm, took one 15mg pill on a Friday night , got up on Saturday and had no pain whatsoever, I had been suffering with excruciating pain for about 4 to 5 months, I took another pill on Saturday mid morning around 5pm I started feeling nauseated and my mouth started filling with saliva, each time I swallowed or spit it would fill up rapidly again and again, then I start getting bad stomach cramps, this all lasted about 5 to 6 minute, debating if I want to take another one tomorrow or not, I long to wake up pain free but so scared of the side effects of this med”

For Tendonitis: “After 10 months of a torn rotator cuff ( fraying ) of 1 inch. Tendonitis, physical therapy, multiple opinions, MRI, and tried this after meeting my 5th Dr. I feel 98% back to normal. Wish I had this 5 Drs and 10 months ago.”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “I was prescribed Meloxicam 15mg by my GP as I had a bad case of Plantar Facitiices. It happened while I was in holiday about two weeks ago and for the last four days of my trip I hobbled around in so much pain it was unbearable. Apparently symptoms last 3-12 months. Once prescribed I started taking it that night. It’s been one week now and I have absolutely no pain at all!! The cons are the side effects! For the past three nights I have had heart palpitations so bad that I cannot even sleep. Not every minute or so it’s every third or fourth heartbeat, this is frustrating for me as the no pain factor is 10/10 but the side effects are poor. I will make an appointment to see my GP today and see if he suggests coming off it altogether or reducing my dose. Everyone is different so you cannot rule it out unless you try if for yourself. If my palpitations were not as frequent and I could sleep at night I would be staying on Meloxicam for the whole course of the prescription.”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “Congenital spinal stenosis and degenerative lumbar discs at 24 years old. I am overweight and have lost 20 lbs since a laminectomy in fall 2016. Was doing better but one year later things got bad again. Surgeon put me on Tramadol and Mobic 15 mgs and the Mobic seems to be my wonder drug. Hopefully after another 8 weeks of PT we can go off and try healing once more.”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “After 4 months of worsening chronic shoulder pain I began taking Meloxicam 7.5 mg, I suspect a rotator cuff issue but they said arthritis. It works well on the chronic pain for about 6 hours but doesn't prevent sharp pain from sudden movement. After 3 days I started having weird dreams and chest pain. I'm going back to alternating aspirin and Tylenol, and I'm going to find a different "specialist" who respects my history of coronary bypass and diabetes.”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “Was put on Meloxicam on Friday (1/12/18) after receiving a diagnosis of Lipedema. Due to having Bipolar and Anxiety and I am VERY careful about going on new meds that could potentially affect my mental health negatively. I ask my doctor, pharmacist and check and my app for any possibility of it causing problems. Well both my doctor and my pharmacist said, “no problem”. my app said, “no problem”. But I did NOT read everything had to say and now here I am 3 doses later, 2 horribly traumatic nightmares stuck in my head, I’ve been feeling a bit depressed (on and off) the last day or 2 and a severe headache!! Guess who is NOT taking tonight’s dose or any others, ever again?!”

For Osteoarthritis: “After 10 weeks of one daily 7.5 meloxicam, I stopped taking it. Four weeks later landed in hospital with kidney failure.......expensive scans, tests etc ruled out cancer etc... ... Nephritis left me with only 8% kidney function which hopefully will get under nephrologist care. Definitely caused by Meloxicam. I take no medication whatsoever, not even vitamins, am a healthy 80 year old woman. Meloxicam did nothing for my pain due to herniated disc and sciatica, one or two opioid pills a day would have given me good sleep and healing but I spent two months sleepless with pain.......”

For Rheumatoid Arthritis: “Once I started taking melocicam along with my disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARD's) medicine, I felt like a new person, like I could run around the block. I was so thankful. Now I can do my house work without feeling pain or having to stop/rest.”

Mobic (meloxicam) for Osteoarthritis: “Started taking this medication about two weeks ago. I gained weight and swelling in hand, legs, feet and ankles. Belly swollen too. I am stopping this medication immediately before something more serious happens. This happened before while on this medication.”

LeAnn1111-27 November 4, 2017

For Osteoarthritis: “On day 2 right now (15mg-1daily) and 3 hours after taking it, I'm feeling very anxious, asthma like symptoms (I do have asthma), and nausea. NOT continuing and will be calling the dr. I'll be using aleve and PT to manage my arthritis that just flared and got diagnosed. I can't take a ZPak either as it is too strong on my stomach. 41 yrs old and healthy. Also gained 5 pounds in 2 days! Not normal to gain like that as my weight has been consistent lately... lost 60 lbs last year. very scary reading these posts and info. I feel like we are just being poisoned with all these drugs!”

For Tendonitis: “About 2 years, I was lifting weights and hurt myself. I was told that I have costochrondistis. I had a very hard time breathing and made few addtional trips to the ER. At my age, the DR thought maybe it was my heart and sent me to a cardiologist who performed many tests, but all the tests were negative including MRI/CT Scans. I got better then the issues flared up. It got better again, but 2 weeks ago I couldn't breath I decided to go to another DR who asked me many questions and finally gave Meloxicam 15 mg. I have been this med for about 2 days and god do I feel the different. My abs are no longer tender and there is no tightness in my chest. I no longer suffer and am able to breath freely. Thank God”

For Osteoarthritis: “I took this drug for about 5 days as directed, for low back arthritis -- I became despondant about my life -- and did not immediately connect this feeling to meloxicam. When I got to thinking about it I checked the side effects, and the oddly specific and very accurate "discouragement" was a side effect. I'm a tough kid, oilfield worker, long time rugby player etc -- and I'm not kidding when I tell you there was a three day period there where I honestly felt like I was an inch from crying -- and I probably would have been crying if I just wasn't so tired of life, and going nowhere etc (mind you, this was during the oil boom, so I was doing great). I removed myself from the med, and started to be my old sunny self within a day or 2”

For Inflammatory Conditions: “I am 45 years old and suffer from degenerative arthritis in my knees due to severe injuries. The pain was becoming so the point of questioning how I can go on for another 30-40 years. Ibuprofen and Celebrex provided no relief and shots were just as worthless. I just started Mobic a 2 weeks ago and I have my life back! The pain is absolutely gone! I honestly can't believe it! I will admit the side effects scare me, but I'm hoping my excellent health prior to using Mobic will be stave off the risk of these side affects.”
